If it ends on him in the recording booth voicing the dog in Fievel Goes West, then all is forgiven.

Jimmy Stewart being famously parodied for decades and decades on top of having multiple actors with iconic comedic roles under their belt playing alongside does not help.

Jimmy Stewart's war time actions would make a great film, but this is likely to be just about how Jesus made it all possible.

The film makers. They only make Christian films.

Not sure why that’s a negative. James Stewart being religious is part of who he was, just like his war service.

That actually is fine. Like Hacksaw Ridge. Great film about a religious man whose faith made him a hero. The issue is that these new Christian films are propaganda. Like God's Not Dead, etc, they are about pushing a religion first and foremost, not telling a story.

I agree. So then the film would be limited to those who agree with you.
A better film about his bravery and heroism in the war would leave the religious stuff out and let you fill in your own blanks. I would want as many people as possible to see his story.

Heroism and bravery are objectively measured here. Your religion is just your opinion on the unknowable. Worthy of no more or less respect than anyone else's.

It’s his religion, it’s his story and religion is very personal to his. He was very open about it and omitting it wouldn’t do the movie justice

Well.. He could have done USO tours all over America and been safe, but instead he intentionally chose to fly many dangerous combat missions over Europe, ultimately earning the Distinguished Flying Cross - which is only awarded for bravery and heroism in flight.
I think it's well known that, objectively, a person can be seen to have acted bravely. The word has meaning. You can have subjectict questions, but you can have objective bravery. Choosing to risk your life for others is brave. Period.

This will flop. Not enough audience to support a biopic about an actor, and one that has been out of the public eye for nearly 50 years.

The Shootist was in ‘76. Then came Airport ‘77 in 1977. The Big Sleep and Magic of Lassie in ‘78. Green Horizon and Mr Krueger’s Christmas in ‘80. Right of Way in ‘83, North and South Book II in 86. Plenty of talk show appearances and other specials in there as well. When he died in 1997 he wasn’t an obscure, forgotten figure. He was still well known.
