Eh, I wasn't a fan of how they handled the ending with D*** and Mary, I would've written it somewhat differently, but my tastes don't always line up with the mainstream. Otherwise, though, the entire rest of that show was solid gold from start to finish.

Why is this show not on ANY streaming service?!

DiabloAcosta Apr 18, 2026 +4
I've heard it all comes down to rights of the music in several episodes, which only makes me hate the music industry more!
4
fearmyminivan Apr 19, 2026 +3
Not necessarily, they even took out a ton of the music from Supernatual and replaced it with generic royalty-free music for Netflix. It’s possible.

Because they don't like money. Sail the digital seas, friend. Yo ho!

That is how D*** Solomon would react to himself. 30 years and he's still in character,
12
Botaccount2HZ Apr 17, 2026 +54
Well, that’s just what D*** would say.

Sure sure…but don’t think I’m going to ever forget that one season of Dexter!

The best season of Dexter.

It’s already over

"Over" ??? Are you not familiar with reruns? Young people discovering these things for the first time? "Over" isn't really applicable.

ifuckedyourmilkshake Apr 18, 2026 +3
It's a line. A terrifying line. That Lithgow says.

If I can't see it, it doesn't exist.

descendantofJanus Apr 18, 2026 +1
Reruns aren't even a thing anymore, ain't that tragic.

descendantofJanus Apr 18, 2026 +1
Who watches network TV anymore? It's all streaming apps.

Im worried that the more press he gets as potter comes closer to more things hes gonna say he shouldnt.

The quote makes him sound narcissistic, but he's actually parroting his character from 3rd Rock from the Sun. It's a joke.

My man is doing the "ruining my own reputation" speedrun.

Always a coin flip with the older actors getting big roles. How bad is it going to be when we find out more about them? Are they cool? How many people did they sexually assault and in what decades? The decade matters. How homophobic are they and do they know what's a slur and what isn't? If they are racist, is it casual enough to brush off or so in your face it's confusing how you didn't know beforehand? Did they vote for Trump 0, 1, 2, or 3 times, because it makes a difference. How many tweets do they have with the word woke? Do any of their relatives still speak to them? Do they have an opinion on January 6, 2021, and how bad is it? So many questions to which you probably don't want to know the answers if you liked them before.

Callidonaut Apr 18, 2026 +2
God, I hope that coin comes down on the good side for Lithgow in the final reckoning; as I understand it his reputation thus far is as a simply lovely person.

descendantofJanus Apr 18, 2026 +2
This is why you shouldn't cyberstalk the celebs you like as if you're a creepy ex. Just enjoy their roles and let them have their personal life. ... Exception to SA stuff, like actual crime shit. If the accusations are credible.

I saw an NPR interview with him where they were lightly pressing him on the JKR thing and he was dodging it h*******, "I've never met her, I'm only vaguely aware of the things she's said" etc, unfortunately for the cast this topic drives clicks so they're gonna be fielding these questions constantly any time they're in an interview that isn't controlled by Warner Bros lol

Hes already said something excusing her

TheOtherUprising Apr 18, 2026 +10
He was so good on that show. What a cast they had.

Electro-Grunge Apr 18, 2026 +4
lol, ‘I Think I’m Great!’ is something his character would say in the show

epicgrilledchees Apr 18, 2026 +7
It was all plagiarized. Perhaps you’re familiar with the dictionary.

And now he schills for a bigot like JK Ralling

brendhano Apr 18, 2026 +2
I saw a comment one time about how he took this role so seriously and just acted with his incredible style and desire to make literally one of the funniest characters I have ever seen.

I guess he's trying to make us forget that [he was bought](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/harry-potter-john-lithgow-jk-rowling-trans-views-1236555546/) It was too much money to turn down....

My first reaction to this headline was "no no no, you don't get to be all cutesy after taking blood money"

John Lithgow is an absolute treasure

Until we get to the part where you think JK Rowling is just misunderstood.

"He looks great" sleeping on a pile of blood money!

He should watch World According to Garp and remember where he came from.

you're a trans-scab, who took JKKKHowling's 30 pieces of silver, & your career is dead to me. all of it. everything.

I really liked that show but I don’t think he needs to be the one saying that tbh.

whoamiwhatamid0ing Apr 17, 2026 +19
It's quite possibly the most in character thing he could say.
19
exMemberofSTARS Apr 18, 2026 +5
It’s pretty tongue in cheek because he’s saying he’s so old that he doesn’t remember even making the show and he’s finding it funny. You actually rarely see an actor say something like that. Many big actors can’t even watch what they made.
5
Salute-Major-Echidna Apr 18, 2026 +2
He said it in season 1 episode 6. Not sure what you mean
2
CaterpillarReal7583 Apr 17, 2026 +4
Even if he’s patting his own back, so what? He’s not wrong here.
