Just getting him off our roads seems like a win.

He’s going to go to Australia where driving your vehicle upside down is the norm.

Yeah but don’t they have kangaroos riding cassowaries down there?

I say let the drop bears take care of him.

EatinSumGrapes Apr 3, 2026 +4
Australia doesn't allow people convicted DUI to visit the country at all. Would be interesting if they let a repeat offender go
4
Guilty_Cattle_5165 Apr 2, 2026 +6
Aussies are like, “no thanks.”
6
Anon_Chapstick Apr 2, 2026 +33
"Absolutely you can go to outside the country for treatment. Feel free to terrorize the streets of Spain with your drunk driving." - The judge. Probably.

istrx13 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Nothing better than pawning your problems off on someone else!

Judge- can I vacay in Europe because I get in trouble here… sure, seems fitting punishment

What’s the difference between a golf ball and Land Rover, tiger can drive a golf ball more than 300y.
8
ViolettaQueso Apr 2, 2026 +3
Can we call “no backs” once he’s out?
3

Kind of surprised a golfer cant drive.

Different rules for the rich

Red_Icnivad Apr 2, 2026 +354
Seriously. Can you imagine going 90 in a 45 and not getting charged? >Woods was seriously injured in a 2021 crash when his vehicle struck a tree in California. He was driving at least twice the speed limit in a 45 mph zone but showed no signs of impairment, authorities said. He was not charged
354
Ashikura Apr 2, 2026 +110
At **least** twice the speed. Absolutely insane.
110
haha_squirrel Apr 2, 2026 +64
I did that when I was 17 and didn’t get charged.. and I’m poor. but the officer made a point that my totaled car with just liability insurance was lesson enough lol
64
NiobiumThorn Apr 2, 2026 +34
That works if you are poor and a dumbass teenager. Not if you are a millionaire. He needs to be given a fine in proportion to wealth at minimum. Ngl I'm good with taking all his money but like 500k and SS to retire on.
34
haha_squirrel Apr 2, 2026 +9
I was responding to someone saying it was different rules for the rich, I was just saying it was the same rules in this case and maybe it shouldn’t be.
9
Tzazon Apr 2, 2026 +10
Because 1.25 billion dollars is "A fine in proportion to wealth at a minimum"
10
zenboi92 Apr 2, 2026 +11
Imagine what even half of that would do for the public infrastructure of any major city.
11
NiobiumThorn Apr 2, 2026 +13
Nah. That wealth is much better spent on luxury cars that you then crash into trees.
13
Legion1117 Apr 3, 2026 +2
>I did that when I was 17 and didn’t get charged.. and I’m poor. but the officer made a point that my totaled car with just liability insurance was lesson enough There's a huge difference between being a stupid teenager who totals their car because they're "young and dumb" and doing so as an adult who should know much better than to be so careless.
2
vasion123 Apr 3, 2026 +5
and having two pills in your pocket and not getting a drug charge? different rules for the rich, f*** this system.
5
thispartyrules Apr 2, 2026 +41
In 1985, Vince Neil of Motley Crue killed Hanoi Rocks band member Razzle while drunk driving, and injured two other people in another vehicle who suffered brain damage. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and was let out after 15 for good behavior. There was also 5 years probation, 200 hours of community service and he was ordered to pay $2.6 million to the survivors
41
da_chicken Apr 2, 2026 +29
Part of that is just that it was 1985. It's a little hard to believe now, but even then people were incredibly tolerant of the idea that some people would just die sometimes in "accidents", and also incredibly tolerant of the idea that you might drive drunk. There's a reason that Mothers Against Drunk Driving didn't start until the 1980s just as much as there's a reason that it got incredibly popular and influential incredibly quickly.
29
HumanDissentipede Apr 2, 2026 +10
I mean this is a request based specifically on his fame. Under the circumstances, it’s incredibly reasonable. Regular rich people would not have this problem.
10
MediocreModular Apr 2, 2026 +18
He should be in jail for repeated DUIs
18
HumanDissentipede Apr 2, 2026 +10
Legally, he does not have any prior DUIs
10
AvatarOfMomus Apr 3, 2026 +4
Yeah, but this is one of the few cases where it maybe makes some sense. It's not gonna be good for his chances at recocery if he's being followed around by the press all the damned time reporting on if he so much as drinks from a glass bottle. The thing worth being pissed about is that we just lock normal people up instead of treating their substance abuse problems, when both are expensive to the state, but one fixes the problem and the other makes society worse in basically every way.
4
pichael288 Apr 3, 2026 +3
When it comes to rehabs the bottom level (the ones courts send you to, always scams. Ohio uses talbert house and only talbert house and a few of their drug rehabs accept convicted pedophiles) and the top level is also scams, rich people petting horses And going to spas And spending $45,000 for a fraudulent completion certificate to give the judge. Real rehabs are in the middle, poorly funded and with tons of restrictions. Judges also love AA and that shit is straight up a cult. Or NA, which is just for creepy dudes to take advantage of vulnerable women.

There are way more people higher on the "most disliked Americans" list right now than Tiger Woods for getting into a DUI-related accident.
38
A-TeamTown Apr 2, 2026 +2
I wouldn’t say I dislike Tiger now because of this. Disappointed but, is this really shocking to anyone?
2
SoWhatNoZitiNow Apr 2, 2026 +3
Really? Tiger Woods is one of the most disliked people in America right now?
3

13
veggeble Apr 2, 2026 +3
Also, jail should be about rehabilitation rather than punishment anyways. So as long as he’s getting treatment for it, what’s the problem? Do people just want to see him in jail even if it’s counterproductive for dealing with his issues?
3
Zestyclose-Novel1157 Apr 2, 2026 +3
I’m just shocked it’s his first. That’s a legal team.
3
Mr_Julez Apr 2, 2026 +4
"to be fair" 😂
4
MediocreModular Apr 2, 2026 +3
His treatment should be done while he serves hard time as a repeat offender.
3
HumanDissentipede Apr 2, 2026 +5
Except this is technically his first DUI

MediocreModular Apr 2, 2026 +2
It’s his first DUI but he shouldn’t have a license and should already have DUIs on his record. In a lot of places this would constitute a felony. In California 3 DUIs could get you up to 10 years. He isn’t just getting DUIs though, he’s getting in accidents. He’s gonna kill somebody some day and they’re letting him leave the country for treatment instead of charging him for the crimes he is committing. Different rules for the rich.
2
Parking-Building-291 Apr 2, 2026 +2
I agree he shouldn’t drive anymore. And I agree his massive wealth and influence has helped him to be in less trouble. I’m arguing that him leaving the country for help makes some sense and can understand why he wants that.

Why didn’t you just do the logical thing and choose to be born to a rich family?
14
SleepingToDreaming Apr 2, 2026 +167
Permanently suspend his drivers license, pay a hefty fine, some jail time and lifelong counseling.
167
zzyzx2 Apr 2, 2026 +18
A fine based on a percentage of his income.
18
3BlindMice1 Apr 3, 2026 +2
How about percentage of net worth
2
Low-Win-6691 Apr 2, 2026 +8
Or, you know, he can just f****** get the f*** out of this country like he wants and stay
8
r3dditr0x Apr 2, 2026 +17
Great. Now he'll drive drunk and high on the wrong side of the road, lol.

Tigre gets to go to a resort masquerading as rehab, where he will still be supplied with opiates and e******.
96
PheesGee Apr 2, 2026 +51
Did you read Matthew Perry's biography? He pretty much says this is the way it is.
51
RadishesCanBeSpicy Apr 3, 2026 +5
I received benzos to treat alcohol withdrawal when I went to outpatient rehab so if it helps him get the help he needs I’m fine with it. And in regards to e******, well, if it’s consensual I don’t really see a problem with it
5
SpaghettiNCoffee Apr 2, 2026 +39
Another example of being rich getting you out of consequences.
39
mzrcefo1782 Apr 2, 2026 +14
It's not like the anonimity problem wasn't solved in 1935 when AA was invented  More famous people than him got sober and are sober on the same rooms as everyone else  Even paparazzi in LA respect the meetings
14
boothash Apr 2, 2026 +31
So he does felon stuff for a second time, but allowed to just leave the US.
31
Low-Win-6691 Apr 2, 2026 +12
I wont even bother to read about the legal gymnastics for this
12
RadishesCanBeSpicy Apr 3, 2026 +1
Well, it’s not a felony…
1
RKO_out_of_no_where Apr 2, 2026 +10
F*** these judges, man. Any non rich person would have the book thrown at us. These judges are bought and paid for and its a big problem.
10
RadishesCanBeSpicy Apr 3, 2026 +1
You’d be shocked to discover the charges for a DUI are not that serious. In the eyes of the law this is his first dui I believe. The 1st incident was reckless driving
1
SloppyMeathole Apr 2, 2026 +9
I'm surprised they haven't issued him a formal apology for arresting him yet.
9
ScottScanlon Apr 2, 2026 +8
This is nothing more than a trip to get away from the US media and spend some time relaxing at a 5 star “treatment center.”
8
m0j0r0lla Apr 2, 2026 +21
If this were you or I, we would still be sitting in a jail cell. *Twice* in 5 years, come on...
21
Individual_Handle556 Apr 2, 2026 +23
One of us under the same situation would be in jail the rich gets a free pass and vacation
23
steve_ample Apr 2, 2026 +7
Maybe look to make adjustments to his drive while he's at it.
7
faultysynapse Apr 2, 2026 +5
Poor guy, if only he had the money to hire a driver. Being a former world-class sportsman must be pretty rough.
5
CCinCO Apr 2, 2026 +8
He's rich AF and an addict = no consequences for horrible actions.
8
top_round_plus Apr 2, 2026 +6
Must be nice having all that money.. I know it doesn’t fix everything but damn if it doesn’t help.
6
Responsible-Grand-57 Apr 3, 2026 +6
Cool. Another rich dude using his wealth to avoid accountability. When did we, as a species, decide that this was ok?
6

Give me a break. Different rules for the rich again!
4
Wrewdank Apr 2, 2026 +19
If he did it in the US then we'd all know he has a drug problem....
19
DarthDregan Apr 2, 2026 +7
Just assuming here, but I'm betting it came down to him wanting to go to a country where paparazzi aren't allowed to be... well... paparazzi. It's an image thing. Not a knowledge thing.
7
FckPolMods Apr 2, 2026 +3
I think you're right about it being an "image thing", and that is unfortunate. True, long-term sobriety involves a massive amount of ego-destruction and humility. Trying to maintain your image, avoid scrutiny and escape consequences for your actions (i.e., pleading "not guity" to a crime that you are obviously guilty of and you know it) are not compatible with recovery. Some people don't hit rock bottom until they kill someone or themselves. I really hope that isn't what it takes for Tiger to surrender and finally start healing.
3
nuckle Apr 2, 2026 +4
How nice. I guess it's now legal to get hammered on booze and pills and drive around flipping cars?
4
Ilikecrazypeople Apr 2, 2026 +4
That's fine, but he should also be fined 10% of his current estimated worth.
4
MessagingMatters Apr 2, 2026 +5
Treatment comes after his trial and prison term ... right?
5
Dark-Ganon Apr 2, 2026 +4
Must be nice to be so insulated from regular life that you can f*** up so majorly and the judge just lets you go and hide away from dealing with the shame of what you've done.
4
chehsu Apr 2, 2026 +4
Lol. Must be nice to get off like this because you have money...
4
Igoos99 Apr 3, 2026 +1
He's not being let off. He's getting treatment while his court case moves forward. At a minimum, it will take months to reach trial. He can either sit in treatment and try to get sober before his case is tried\* or he can sit at home and continue to abuse whatever drugs he is on. Even a non-wealthy, non-celebrity would be allowed to seek treatment during this time period. \*In reality, it's more likely there will be a plea agreement but that will also take months, at a minumum, to sort.
1
Admirable-Sink-2622 Apr 3, 2026 +4

He's going to kill himself and everyone will be surprised except those not insulated by wealth. His privilege will forever keep him from learning, I just saw his look when he saw his own mugshot on a t-shirt the first time. We feed their attention. For them pushing the envelope is like a k**** f*****.
2
po3smith Apr 2, 2026 +2
But doesn't need/want privacy enough to not use our public (peasant) roadways that have us driving on it too - F this guy and anyone that still supports him. He puts the rest of us at risk.
2
pqratusa Apr 2, 2026 +2
How is he traveling? Most countries won’t give you a visa if you have a dui.
2

No, that rule is for the poors
3
dilfpapi Apr 2, 2026 +2

2
ProofByVerbosity Apr 2, 2026 +2
Man he looks like shit. I get mental health and addiction issues arent a class struggle but it always boggles my mind when people with infinite money and resources cant get thier shit together. And go ahead, drink yourself to death but for f*** sakes why are you driving? Keen on trying out murder? You can afford to never drive again. Get your shit together.
2
2020IsANightmare Apr 2, 2026 +2
Legit good for him if he's actually trying to get sober. I hope he gets his license permanently revoked. I'd be perfectly happy if someone permanently lost their license after one DUI, but two? Should be automatic.
2
RollinToast Apr 2, 2026 +1
The second one we know about because it's the second wreck so they had to book him, who knows how many times he's been pulled over for drunk driving and got away with it because of who he is.
1
2020IsANightmare Apr 2, 2026 +2
I'm guessing the minimum wage cops would have made noise about "getting" Tiger Woods if he had other DUIs. How many times has he driven impaired and not been caught? That's my thing. I don't honestly give a f*** if someone wants to drink or use pills like Tiger. If they can't partake AND refrain from driving, then they shouldn't have a right to drive.

2

Buddy will blame everything on privacy concerns lmaooo. Meanwhile he doing barrel rolls in the streets cause he doesn’t want a driver.

2

5

Yeah, no. This is not the type of charge that has Americans fleeing to other countries. R*** and murder? Yes. DUI? No.

The rich have a different set of laws. What bothers me is that being "famous" playing golf in the PGA is a result of being in this country. He should have to live with that in good and bad times. Shame should come with abusing your good life.
