Not even in a meaningful way really. She didn't get tried for commiting crimes, she merely got footage of herself included in a music video that explained what she did.
So she's not gonna lose her job, serve time, be punished financially, nope. She's merely going to have to live with the fact that others will now what she did, the horror.

Not quite. She won't be held accountable, the judge dismissed all of Afroman's counter-claims. This verdict doesn't rule that the Adam's Country Sheriff's Office did anything wrong, the verdict just rules that Afroman didn't do anything wrong writing songs about them raiding his house.

It's more nuanced than that. And by nuanced, I mean dumber, and by dumber, I mean judges are f****** idiots and the supreme court should be destroyed as an institution. What the f*** are we doing letting 9 wizards tell us about anything and inventing laws from nothing.
They can't be sued individually as long as they don't violate someone's rights in a known way during the course of doing their job. And so in order to successfully sue a cop for violating your rights, you have to find a case where the cops were found to violate someone's rights in a near identical way to how they violated yours.
Basically cops have a massive "first time's free" card for violating your rights, and if the circumstances vary ever so slightly, then wow, the second time's free too.
You can't even sue them through statistical proofs that they regularly violate people's rights, because Clarence Thomas hates you, yes you, specifically.

The amount of times they made her listen to liccem low lisa while she was on the stand was absolutely absurd. They replayed the exact same song for every single social media site where it was posted. I honestly don't think she was fake crying, it was savage... and done by her own attorney. As if the jury was going to be like, "oh it's fine that it was posted on twitter... but tiktok crosses the line!" I would have had so much trouble not bursting into laughter if I was on that jury.

> I honestly don't think she was fake crying, it was savage... and done by her own attorney.
When the whole intent of their lawsuit was that it essentially hurt their feelings, the fake crying was wholly intentional.
If winning their case involved playing the video that many times and ensuring that she *didn't* cry, I'd be easily convinced that there wouldn't have been a tear shed in that scenario.

Cops dying in auto accidents is why it's a "dangerous job" and why other top-listed dangerous jobs are ones that also involve a lot of driving around (taxis, garbage trucks, USPS, etc).
Cops and their mouthpieces like to act like cops are brave men and women protecting society from violence and chaos but the reality is that law enforcement exists primarily as a tool of the powerful to keep them safe from consequences of their actions and to protect their property.

What’s worse was that their misconduct damaged Mr. AfroMan's property and took money from him without cause, which is what triggered him to make fun of them in his video. Yet THE COPS decided that THEY would seek damages claiming THEY were wronged.
Had they not over-played their hand people all over the country wouldn’t be talking about the one cop’s wife being convicted of theft and another cop’s brother being a convicted PDF. They brought this on themselves because of their poor character and bad faith lawlessness.

The charges were dropped within a few days because he was completely innocent and only charged because he was friends with someone who was involved. Not one post or article about the charges being dropped because there was no evidence against him. Some people still think he’s a big drug trafficker.

It was Afroman's attorney. The cop didn't answer the question because 1) if she was cheating, it's true and not defamation, and 2) if she's not and no reasonable person would believe she's cheating on him with Afroman, then it's not defamation. That's the *Flynt v. Falwell* case from the movie. The only way it's defamation is if a reasonable person would believe his wife was banging Afroman (and that's probably her defamation claim, not his).

That is an answer. It's an impertinent one and not relevant, but it is an answer all the same. If he's being asked to substantiate why he thought the claim was legitimate and that's his response, it's basically admitting that the claim was not legitimate.
It's like if I asked you to tell me why you think it's believable that OP fucked your mom, and you respond with "blow it out your ass". It's impertinent and not relevant to the question, but I can also surmise from it that you have no legitimate reason to believe that happened, else you would have simply told me that.

I mean yeah, literally. They STOLE $4000 from Afroman during the raid (“civil forfeiture” my ass). When they returned it, $400 was missing.
And let’s be real, it only got returned because it was a huge PR problem. If this was some random dude they stole from he could kiss that money goodbye.

Yep.
John Oliver did a segment on it in 2014. [John Oliver Civil Forfeiture.](https://youtube.com/watch?v=3kEpZWGgJks).
It’s bullshit they can just take your cash and you are guilty until proven innocent. Nice that we have done nothing about this problem since then, right? We know it’s a problem and just turn a blind eye to it I guess.

*You're* not guilty until proven innocent, technically, since that'd be illegal.
That's why they charge your *property* with a crime and your *property* is guilty until proven innocent because property doesn't have rights. This leads to insane court cases like *State of Alabama v. $3,000 cash*.
It's an absurd legal loophole that should be obviously illegal.

I feel like it needs to be understood that they did NOT have their feelings hurt. They simply saw an opportunity for a payday. This is obvious when you see them lying through their teeth on the stand. Does anyone really believe that cop is unsure if Afroman fucked his wife? No. They are full of shit and their basis for the case was also bullshit.

>"They're public officials. They're going to he held to a higher standard."
Maybe, but their conduct wasn't even to the normal standard based on the video. The cops looked like idiots in the video, and if they thought suing would change America's opinion of them, well, no. The lawsuit will just put more money in Afroman's pocket lol (ultimately, I'm sure his lawyer wasn't c****).
*Osborne then turned and gestured to Foreman, who has worn an American flag suit to court, with matching sunglasses, each day.*
*"Look at that suit," Osborne said. "Does this look like a man who thinks that everybody's going to assume that everything he's saying is fact?"*
I would have a hard time not chuckling out loud over that, if I were a juror.

Watching his testimony in that outfit was hilarious. Especially when he went off saying they wouldn't be here if his house hasn't been raided.
Also the clip of Lisa crying in court when the song was playing, them the camera zooms out and pans to afroman in his suit and you can see him kind of bobbing his head along to the beat.
The man spent the entire court case aura farming.

He came to play at my college about 15 years ago (yes, he and I are both old), and he would just ditch some songs midway through if he thought the crowd wasn't feeling them. He wasn't remotely bothered that something he wrote and produced wasn't getting applause, he just moved on.
What I'm saying is yeah, that dude gives the least amount of fucks I've ever seen, and watching that attitude play out across this dumb saga has been incredible.

Yeah because the lawsuit is bullshit. You have zero right to privacy in public and you have zero right to privacy while invading the home of an innocent (or guilty) individual.
If the property is not your own and it is not a legally protected space you have zero protections against being on camera. As it should be. If you didn't have the right to record your own home and publish footage of the police or anyone else (within reason, don't put a camera in your toilet bowl, obviously) then what exactly stops the police or anyone else from breaking in and planting evidence? What stops them from coming in intent on killing you and claiming self defense?
If this went any other way it would be a shocking move towards impeding on the right to protect yourself in your personal domain

Anything regarding the search of his house, destruction of his property, or theft of his property will be handled through a separate civil suit. Afroman was sued in Civil Court by the Sheriff's Deputies who alleged that his songs were defamatory, which is an entirely separate legal issue than Afroman's \[legal\] complaints that the Sheriff's Department violated his rights, destroyed his property, and illegally took possession of his money. He would file that suit against the Sheriff's Department.

I just want to narrow in on one part of the lawyer questioning him on the stand. He's asking questions to try and undermine the claim that the police stole the money and about the missing amount. Like he's saying 'you claim the police stole your money'.
But that's not something up for debate. To steal something is to take something that doesn't belong to you without permission. They police *gave him back his money*. Which means they had his money. And he didn't give them permission to have it.
That's theft.
The amount taken and returned is an additional issue on top of the initial theft that isn't even disputed.
If i steal gold bars from fort knox, but give them back when they get mad, i still stole the gold bars.
That is of course, not include some shit legal definition that may exclude cops from being prosecuted for stealing shit, but by any reasonable definition of the words the police plainly, factually, stole his money.
Come on
