Just started rewatching Better Call Saul, just two episodes in, and remembering why it's one of the best series ever. The desert scene with the skateboarders is one of the greatest dark comedy scenes of all time. Really looking forward to the rest of it.

I rewatched Breaking Bad not too long ago, and had pretty much forgot it's as much a black comedy as it is a crime drama, it's so funny at times.

That scene is where the show went from good to amazing and really showed what the series would be like and why Saul’s character would be a dynamic and interesting person to follow.

Honestly, I only re-watch certain episodes of Breaking Bad. but BCS, I watch the whole thing. It's just that well put together. Breaking Bad has more action as a whole and amazing "This is crazy!" moments but BCS is the better show I feel.

The shot of the kid in the wheelchair has stuck with me since I saw it. Brilliant camerawork

Heh, I just started it recently as well and I’ve been plowing through. Mid way through season 3. It’s in my top 3, probably number 1. Such an incredible series.

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are still my favorites. I really miss them. Because of those shows, I now automatically watch anything by Vince Gilligan (including Pluribus) I envy you watching BCS for the first time. Enjoy the ride! It's both wild and bittersweet

While ULTIMATELY BCS is like a 9.5/10 show, I REALLY wanted way more slippin' Jimmy schemes. I wish they had done 2-3 seasons of him escalating further and further. Having said that, all the Mike, Gus and Lalo material was incredible.

It’s crazy to me that BCS and BB were hard for me personally to get into from the start. But I kept watching because I knew it was something great if that makes sense? When it clicked though? It f****** clicked! And now i rewatch those shows so much!

>hard for me personally to get into from the start. This was me with Better Call Saul. After season one, I didn't care about. Thought about just watching it when the entire series was finished. Told my professor at the time since we were talking about shows we were watching at the time before classes start. He jokingly told me that my homework for the weekend was watching season 2 because half of it just came out by that point. And you know what, I'm glad I "did his homework." Just an absolutely great show, writing, cast, etc. It's a damn shame this show didn't win a single Emmy during its entire run.

I didn’t have issues with BB, but I still maintain that BCS’s first season isn’t very good. It has such a slow start, and (in my opinion) takes a long time to find its footing and voice

I like Better Call Saul a great deal but I actually think those first two episodes feel the most desperate, in a storytelling sense, and also the most out of place tonally. Bringing Tuco into the equation from step one felt like a network-mandated stunt (even if it may not have been in actuality). It seemed rushed and very contrived. Luckily, the show hits the brakes after that and slowly — extremely slowly — introduces Saul to the criminal world of ABQ, and that felt more authentic/interesting to me. And on a nitpicking level, Saul’s increasing familiarity with the Salamanca family (Tuco here, Hector shortly thereafter, Lalo even later) makes his genuine ignorance about Hector in season 4 of Breaking Bad stick out like a sore thumb. For me, the show really hit its stride toward the end of season 2 with the forged paperwork scheme.

On rewatch Saul gets super annoying. His incompetence or greed are the two story drivers
