>after she resisted pressure to quickly bring charges against the former CIA director and prominent critic of President Donald Trump, according to people briefed on the matter. >Trump’s demands have taken on more urgency for the Justice Department after Trump fired former Attorney General Pam Bondi, in part because of dissatisfaction at the slow pace of cases he wants brought. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has redoubled efforts to satisfy the president’s demands as he seeks to keep the job after Bondi’s ouster. I may not be a lawyer but I know a crime when I see one.

It was the AG, John N. Mitchell, who went to jail for their coverup and the coverup that finally ended Nixon. The **G**uardians **O**f **P**edophiles may not want to go after everyone like Trump (and possibly some of themselves) in the Trumpstein files, but if they had any spine or credibility, which we know they dont, they could atleast go after the vast Trump and Blondi led coverup.

That was then, when republicans were conservatives and not extortionists, so it is up to others to fix it. We tried the soap box, but not enough people got the message. We tried the ballot box, but there is evidence that the election was stolen. We can try the jury box, but some courts seem to favor the administration over the Constitution. Not sure if any other box might work.

No, Nixon more or less obeyed the law.

No he didn't. He ordered IRS audits on perceived enemies and interfered with audits of his friends. Similar to how Trump interferes with the DOJ. Don't believe these Nixon whitewashing attempts people. He's the malignant tumor that metastasized into what we have now.

There’s a difference between ordering an investigation and insisting the subject be charged regardless of the merits

When a president orders it, I don’t think there’s a distinction between the two lol…

Nixon at least knew what a crook was

Nixon: "I am not a crook". Narrator: "He was, in fact, a crook". Trump: "I am not a fraudster, child rapist, liar, seller of state secrets, seditionist, election interferer, coup plotter, campaign finance swindler, investigation obstructor, constitution violator, war monger, adulterer, foreign agent,......"

Yup. From 2021 to 2024 "weaponizing the DoJ" was just more Republican projection about what they did and are about to do. I never thought I would be happy that our best and brightest US attorney's would leave or be fired but since they have been turned into Trumps personal attorneys and actually weaponized against Americans, Im not feeling bad at the sheer incompetence that we see from them. Thats also not to mention the corruption where in the [first 9 months of Trumps regime, judges in 35 separate cases found the DoJ had put forward fraudulent evidence](https://youtu.be/2RMqaMQIHKo?si=gW0NPxTOHnss-wSC) where in the previous decade there may have been one case of it happening. So they've been told to systemically lie to the courts to do the bidding of the oldest and dumbest man-baby. This of course has tainted judges opinion and normal deference they gave to the government making them destroy century old norms and procedures to ensure justice is upheld.

It wasn't *just* projection. They were also trying to normalize crime as a political stance.  Literally claiming that they were targeted for prosection because of being Republican - and not, y'know, because they committed crimes.

I hope when these cases are laughed out of court, they all counter sue. Make sure Trump's name is on the check.

I mean he sues the federal government again for billions about more made up garbage. He obviously instructs them to settle.

They usually are. But the damage is already done just with bringing the case out. MAGA run around like they already won the case, fox news and others like it treat it like its some huge victory, then when the case it thrown out you might get a little 30 second blurb about it on cnn. Its about the show.

They countersue and the American taxpayer pays for it, not Trump.  The system is broken.

Wrong. The system is working exactly as intended. It's not designed to help the working class, it's designed to exploit the working class. We need a new system.

‘Trump critic is an interesting framing compared yo ‘former cia director’. One of these subtly suggests a potentially sympathetic narrative.

RoboChrist 1 day ago +13
Yeah, Trump critic is much more sympathetic to anyone who knows anything about the CIA.

CNN has been leaning rightward ever since Trump threatened them over their coverage not being friendly enough to conservatives. Just add it to the can of unreliable news sources.

Like all capitalist organizations, CNN is in the business of making money, not in delivering factual and balanced information.
