She is not doing a good job of anything, other than denying, accusing, and looking pretty enough for Trump to try to f*** her between briefings.
There are actually people who are good at spinning things. She is not one of them. The only thing she is any good at is being willing to verbalize the rhetorical equivalent of “No! You suck cause Trump is good!” to every question, no matter how absurd it makes her look in context.

Right wing propaganda constantly repeats that everything would be better if Republicans have power, and everything will be worse if Democrats have power.
When Republicans are f****** up the country, sometimes the damage breaks through the cognitive dissonance, but often right wing propaganda has the rubes thinking things like $8 a gallon for gas is still not as bad as whatever the Dem would do - free transgender surgeries in kindergarten, or something.
When Democrats are running the country, every little irritation the rubes have is fanned into a major crisis. Gas went from $2.50 to $2.75? It's TERRIBLE and DEMOCRATS ARE RUINING AMERICA, and things will be so much better if you just vote for the GOP next time.
It's literally not about who is actually trashing what part of the country - it's about imaginary threats versus real actions, when both are given equal weight.

No, she doesn't. Not really.
What people don't understand is that to a fascist, lying is not an act of deception; it is an act of dominance. They know that you know they're lying. They don't care. It's like in Russia, when you hear about someone with two bullets in the back of the head where it's ruled a suicide. It's tempting to ask "Who do they think they're fooling?" but the answer is, they know they're not *fooling* anyone. They're just daring anyone to step up and call them a liar.
The feigned acceptance of a shared fiction becomes a loyalty ritual, a way of communicating your readiness to abandon your own perception of reality and thus, your own will. Those who refuse to do so are marked as enemies and subjected to whatever punishment they feel they can get away with.

I don't think she actually cares. She communicates only what is considered mandatory, and only the bare minimum, so she can plausibly deny withholding information or lying.
I think she performs her responsibilities cynically, to the best of her ability, because she had the opportunity to take a somewhat exclusive and unique job.
I think her performance is cynical because i) she doesn't indicate that she thinks her job actually has any value or is necessary.
And ii) she is blatant in her anti-democratic and authoritarian beliefs. Those beliefs and values are inherently antithetical to the functioning of her job.
In other words, she doesn't care but took a glitzy job. She also doesn't care or is unaware of the irony of her being selected for the job in the first place. She is unqualified in every way, and it's only emphasized by her own performance in the job. But she's perfect for the Trump admin's purposes.

>She communicates only what is considered mandatory, and only the bare minimum, so she can plausibly deny withholding information or lying.
That's the key to the entire administration right there. They are prepared before they talk or answer questions. They know they are lying or withholding the truth so they word everything in such a way they can't be charged with lying. Listen to the questioning of people like Patel. He always used phrases "as far as I know" or "from what I have seen". That way when called later he can say "I had not seen *those* files at the time".

At approximately the same time, podcasters, newspapers, news channels, and right wing “influencers” will nearly simultaneously yap about a topic in the way that the administration has fine tuned. I mean, at least half the country are idiots who voted for this, and the other half are lazy complacent fools who are letting their country burn… so I’d call them idiots as well.
So all in all, she’s right.

Well, her husband is going to be in diapers when their kids graduate high school. It just shows a running theme with all of this administration: lack of future planning. But we are the idiots.

I mean, we are in this position because a lot of idiots voted for this or decided not to vote at all. So yes, her audience are idiots.

Yes, she does, but she structures her answers for sound bites not coherency. That way Fox can easily craft them into propaganda.

She doesn't think we're idiots that believe her. The administration knows full well we don't believe them--they're rubbing it in our faces that they're lying and daring us to do something about it

It's like, the stupider and less plausible the thing she's saying is, the louder she has to say it, to compensate.
If Iran goes on much louder, she's just going to be screaming at us.

Now I wouldn't say all, but perhaps the majority of the actively voting US electorate?

What's idiotic is that the media goes along with it and peddles it. But, that's become yet another failed institution in this country. Or glaringly corrupt, which is one in the same given the ratings for CBS and CNN.

I think it's interesting to watch her breathe. Every time a reporter asked a question she has to breathe deeply to prepare for the lie. Like stretching before a workout. She has to manage so much dishonestly and sling so much deflection that it's a physical lift for her. It's like watching a spelling bee contestant who's never heard of the word they've been given.

It's not about getting people to believe what is being said. It's about getting people to give up on the idea that the truth will ever be available or acknowledged. It's about cultivating cynicism and despondency so people feel powerless to oppose the madness.
