They NEED to check the parents’ computers like yesterday. How does a single family have so many abusers???

Punkinpry427 Mar 21, 2026 +351
They used to belong to ILBP and the leader was accused of sexual harassment and molestation who taught them that men aren’t responsible for controlling their sexual impulses so….

Voiceofreason2732 Mar 21, 2026 +129
It’s crazy that the group has so many people who’s sexual impulses tend to be illegal in nature. Controlling them isn’t even really a conscious thought for normal people
129
Punkinpry427 Mar 21, 2026 +58
I can’t even begin to speculate what’s going on with that family other than it’s fucked
58
sarkastic_prophet Mar 21, 2026 +46
It’s generational abuse. Inherited trauma. Hurt people hurt people. They’re too fucked up from abuse and having no safety net/support system or sense of worth to avoid inflicting the same pain on others.

What's that acronym stand for?

The stricter the hierarchy, the greater chance someone will abuse their authority.

texachusetts Mar 21, 2026 +27
“Abuse” of authority is the clearest proof that one has authority at all, thus dictating the behavior. For many people cruelty is the truest expression of having power.

I_madeusay_underwear Mar 21, 2026 +207
I’m gonna say it’s because they treat the human body, sex, attraction, and sexuality like taboo and dirty secrets that are shrouded in shame and fear. They teach their children that women’s bodies are owned by and for the exclusive use of men. Girls literally pledge their “purity” to their fathers to protect until he passes the torch to her husband, completely removing any sense of autonomy or control. They teach them that men are powerless to control themselves if they become aroused by seeing a woman’s body, so women must bear the burden of modesty and use caution to never allow her existence to excite any man. They teach their sons and daughters that a woman’s “pure” and virginal v***** is the only value she possesses. They demand all sexuality be completely suppressed to the point that music with drums is banned because it may cause them to move in a rhythmic fashion, which is too sexual. They don’t allow their children to so much as hug the person they will marry until after the vows, so they have zero frame of reference for what is even happening if something does happen. If you’re raised to think you become worthless if you aren’t a virgin or aren’t completely untouched, and someone abuses or assaults you, you’re probably not too crazy about telling anyone and asking for help. And if you also believe it’s your fault for somehow tempting the rapist, you probably just wallow in shame and guilt. And since they believe that men truly have no agency over their actions when aroused, they don’t punish them for their crimes when they are found out, they just send the girls away to remove the problem. F****** disgusting people.

Their whole home and family life were/are so sexually charged. Everything was all about humping for blessing. Jim Bob was shoving his sex life in the kids’ faces (think of him humping Michelle in front of Ben and Jessa at manifold, and taunting them because they couldn’t even hold hands). That’s a whole lot of revving up sexual impulses but giving them nowhere healthy to go.
35
Shrimpheavennow227 Mar 21, 2026 +28
They literally had her period and ovulation calendar on the kitchen wall and would track when she would avoid/allow conception based on it. Like talk about the timing of when she would do her “womanly duty” and let JimBoob rub his sad weird wiener on her while she recited bible verses in her bizarrely permed head.

I am cackling at this visual. His sad weird wiener.

Well said. When a family has a code word “Nike” that the females in the family are supposed to say so the boys don’t look at a girl/woman who is “inappropriately dressed” things are screwed up!

Is anyone surprised? These fundamentalist cults need to be investigated and shuttered. They exist only so that predators can abuse women and children.

AND then they are given reality TV shows that give them huge platforms on social media. Not only should all these various cults be looked at, but anyone enabling them by making them celebrities.

At this point, I’m not surprised. I mean, it’s the Duggar family, whats messed up things/actions have they covered up in. Won’t be surprised if half of the family are predators.
18

They tried that. They tried to pull children from Warren Jeff's cult that there was a huge uproar and the kids were reunited.

I honestly feel like this last arrest is enough to suspect someone was predating on the Duggar family… like maybe it was one of them… but an astonishingly high incidence rate, maybe just chance, but wtf
11
WeaselWash Mar 21, 2026 +16
The grandfather on the dad side supposedly. Someone wrote how Grandma made sure girls were locked in their rooms at night when sleeping over. I’ll look for the source. Edit to add source: https://people.com/amy-duggar-king-wondered-why-she-couldnt-be-alone-with-grandfather-exclusive-11822743 Joe Duggar’s cousin wrote about it in her book.
16
DenvahGothMom Mar 21, 2026 +16
We already know that. The other brother was molesting his sisters the whole time did you forget? And Mom was doing physical abuse to them. Plus, they were taught these hideous beliefs that women and children are just the property of men who must obey whatever they do and say… Arranged marriages with no sex or kissing prior. This is the natural outcome of the horrors they were raised with.

26
FatherOfLights88 Mar 21, 2026 +17
At this point in time, it's their genetics/breeding that I'm starting to question. This is a catastrophic concentration of bad in one family.
17
DenvahGothMom Mar 21, 2026 +25
No, it’s their patriarchal, authoritarian beliefs. And the fact that the parents bred them like animals for money rather than having 2 or 3 they could actually love and properly care for. And did horrific child abuse like “blanket training” to them. Same DNA raised in a normal life going to public school, making normal friends, being treated like human beings rather than property of their whackjob a****** dad, they’d probably be fine.

My money is on a minor babysitter. Husband got handsy with the sitter then Kendra kept her in the house because she needed to “make her understand what happened and how it wasn’t actually bad but don’t tell anyone about it”
12
Tasty_One_8299 Mar 21, 2026 +23
What do you want to bet, whatever the story is behind her arrest it has something to do with their religion!
23
r_bogie Mar 21, 2026 +15
I'm willing to bet *everything* the woman does has something to do with that religion.
15
BadAspie Mar 20, 2026 +109
The police say it's unrelated, plus she's being charged in Arkansas while Joe's being extradited to Florida. So sounds like the local PD just happened to find she'd kept some kid somewhere, while they were looking for Joe on behalf of Florida
109
Delilah_Moon Mar 21, 2026 +30
I was thinking the same thing. Each of them has 4 charges for endangerment and 4 charges for false imprisonment in Arkansas (in addition to his charge in Florida). They also have 4 kids. This gets worse by the day.
30
LexusBrian400 Mar 20, 2026 +51
Sounds like national family sex trafficking operation. Gross. Hope they all rot.
51

11
Unlucky_Welcome9193 Mar 20, 2026 +32
Unless they are lying, the police said her charges were unrelated to her husband's. I cannot imagine what must have been going on in that house
32
IShookMeAllNightLong Mar 21, 2026 +10
They said Duggars' charges. Meaning he was charged in Arkansas as well with something unrelated to the Florida case, if I'm understanding it right.
10
JefferyTheQuaxly Mar 21, 2026 +16
The article mentions that these charges are unrelated to her husband’s Florida charges meaning they’re not related. I really do think it’s because the cops arresting the dad saw something they didn’t like in their house, maybe a “time out closet” with locks on it or something
16
Lotus-child89 Mar 21, 2026 +21
What I’m hearing is it’s because they had reverse locks on their kids’ bedroom doors. Aside from being just plain inhumane, it’s a massive fire safety hazard.
21
WhatFreshHello Mar 21, 2026 +15
I’m pleasantly surprised they would charge her for that rather than just issuing a warning. I’m sure such practices are part of the Bill Goddard/IBLP/Quiverfull guide to abusive parenting.
15
Lotus-child89 Mar 21, 2026 +8
I get the impression that it’s something that’s only in recent years being taken more seriously. I’m sure too many firefighters have seen children die in fires because they were trapped in their rooms, too many doctors saw kids with urinary/digestive issues because they can’t go to the bathroom at night, and CPS seeing too many parents just plain locking their away children as a regular go to punishment and setting up these dangers. Plus, just overall, if you think about what humane treatment to an innocent human is, it is inhumane. If you can’t figure out how to handle natural behavioral, emotional or physical human problems on one or two kids without resorting to this, then you shouldn’t be having multiple kids in under a few years. Locking up kids was previously thought of as a parenting choice issue before being realized as a human right and public/personal well being issue.
8
JefferyTheQuaxly Mar 21, 2026 +8
The article specifies that these charges are also separate and unrelated from Joseph’s own Florida allegations. So I would bet that the police when arresting Joseph found some stuff they didn’t like in the house they were raising their 4 children I wouldn’t doubt locking them in a closet or a cage or some sort.

In the Quiverfull movement, child abuse is a sacrament. No hyperbole. It is a defining feature of their belief system.
106
Horseshoe_dodgeball Mar 21, 2026 +6
In what way? Like they're *supposed* to do it or no one bats an eye if they do do it?
6
MikeThrowAway47 Mar 21, 2026 +17
Spare the rod, spoil the child.
17
ConsequenceVisible27 Mar 21, 2026 +13
I HATE that religious groups use this. It’s not even in the Bible in relation to children, but to sheep flocks as a metaphor for communities. “Spare the rod, spoil the flock” It was a 19th century poet that extended it to children. And people misunderstand what those words mean because the King James Bible uses the 17th century meaning of those words, not modern ones. The “rod” isn’t a stick to hit with, it’s the 1600’s word for a shepherd’s crook. And “spoil” didn’t mean ruin, it meant to scatter, disperse and lose track of, like “spoils of war” or when a fleet of ships was “spoiled” So “spare the rod, spoil the flock” means that a good shepherd uses his crook to keep his flock together so they don’t become separated and lost, and is a metaphor where God is the shepherd, His law in the form of His word is the crook, and the flock is the faithful community. And even in verses like Proverbs 13:24, 22:15, 23:13 and 29:15, it’s again a language problem. The original Hebrew uses the words shebet and mûsār, which got translated as rod and discipline but most Hebrew scholars will tell you that the usage of shebet is metaphorical referring to the firm hand or crook of guidance and that mûsār is not even metaphorical: it means the discipline of wisdom and self-control, NOT physical , corporal punishment.

Zillah-The-Broken Mar 20, 2026 +95
I honestly expect more now. the younger boys grew up in the shadows of these behaviors, and who knows what really goes on behind closed doors.
95
cassthesassmaster Mar 20, 2026 +17
Do you think they all knew what each other was doing? Or do you think they all thought they had a dark secret?
17
alonewithamouse Mar 21, 2026 +10
They all shared a bedroom for pretty much their entire lives. When the kids were younger they all lived in a tiny house, then when the TV show happened they built a huge compound...still with just a room for the boys and a room for the girls. Not only that, Michelle assigned her older children to raise the younger children as they were born. She would nurse the new baby for a month or two then say "here, this one is yours" in the order of who got the last one. Soo....point being, all the kids knew what each other were up to.
10
Background-Air-8611 Mar 20, 2026 +26
People who are sexually abused as children are more likely to sexually abuse as adults. There’s definitely a trend within this family
26
cassthesassmaster Mar 21, 2026 +7
Oh for sure! I’m just wondering if they all knew about what each other was doing or if they each thought they were the only one

You mean Jana also with the child endangerment charge?
31
Aggravating_Life7851 Mar 21, 2026 +9
That’s not really her fault though. She was being forced to watch a bunch of kids all the time and one got out. It’s not like she was an abuser too

Shit, I somehow missed how that happened

amyel26 Mar 20, 2026 +7
Sounds like some Ruby Franke fuckshit.
7
Special-Garlic1203 Mar 20, 2026 +32
It could be as innocuous as they locked the kids into their bedroom at night, and they're throwing the book at her for it because she did other harder to convict stuff. It's anyone's guess. The vast majority of how they raise their kids is not acceptable within mainstream society anymore  They're part of a fringe religious offshoot that espouses child abuse to ensure control of children and they avoid any kind of government/school oversight.  When people start pushing homeschooling and school vouchers, these are the primary benefactor of that. None of their childrearing practices hold up to scrutiny which is why they need to keep outsiders eyes away. The Duggars were initially a big PR boon in downplaying the physical and emotional abuse
32
Populaire_Necessaire Mar 20, 2026 +14
Ok locking their kids into their bedroom would be batshit regardless. I’m with you, we don’t know what it is and should keep that in mind/not jump to conclusions, she’s from a cult and we have no idea what behavior has been normalized and what she’s dealt with.. But to be clear locking kids into a bedroom is abuse..did they have a restroom? What were they to do in case of an emergency..Or even a nightmare? What would they do in case of a fire?
14
kasiagabrielle Mar 21, 2026 +6
Their parents locked all the girls into their bedroom (with the younger, weaned children they were in charge of taking care of at night) after they found the oldest son molested 4 of them. In the case of a nightmare the kids would go to their older sister "buddy," and in case of a fire probably pray their parents let them out.
6
Jan-Jan-Jan-JAN Mar 21, 2026 +5
I like this theory. And she never even had to actually lock her kids in their room for there to be evidence suggesting it. When my kid was 2, he kept locking his bedroom door, as in parents locked out. I reversed the door knob. Never once did I lock him in there. But in hindsight it wouldn't have been a good look in the middle of an investigation. Especially if the police think there might be heinous stuff they can't prove.
5
Zillah-The-Broken Mar 20, 2026 +27
still child abuse in another form.

Zillah-The-Broken Mar 20, 2026 +39
I'm aware she married into the family which is why I said what I said, it's now 3 of them in the family. something is seriously very wrong with them, that's not normal behavior.

11
dsmith422 Mar 20, 2026 +7
They all belong to the Quiverfull cult. Yes, they are all insane. Women are property. Josh wasn't guilty of molesting his pre-teen sisters because all sign is the fault of the woman. I do think some of the sisters escaped, but their trauma from being raised in that insane asylum will be life long.

In a family that big, the oldest get to be parents at like 12 years old. That combined with constant fundamentalist religion hung over their heads will f*** up a child’s mental health.
7
raerae1991 Mar 20, 2026 +6
Sounds like this might be child abuse related not csa. Ultra conservative cults all have child abuse in common!
6
Phoenyxoldgoat Mar 21, 2026 +3
Kendra wasn't charged with child abuse. She was charged with 4 counts of child endangerment and 4 of false imprisonment (and so was Joe, in addition to his child molestation charges). They have 4 kids. I bet CPS or law enforcement came for the kids and they tried to intervene.

Gosh I wish I still had Facebook… so I could go back to their first season when I posted “Something isn’t right about these people” and absolutely got ROASTED by my friends and family. “They’re good people” “Those kids are clean and fed and well behaved, I say good for them!” “They are debt free with all those kids and not just living off the government.” I called it then. And I was crazy… now look at the damage they’ve done

The women who are so religious are so into pleasing their men no matter what 🆘🚩

You know that part of the bible that tells women to "submit to your husband?" They take that shit *seriously*.
12
beadzy Mar 20, 2026 +14
jfc it’s almost predictable how fucked up this family turned out to be
14
PrimalNumber Mar 20, 2026 +13
This stuff is passed on from generation to generation. These kids need massive therapy to attempt to break the cycle.
13
highandinarabbithole Mar 21, 2026 +13
I’m infinitely more shocked that every single person in that family hasn’t been arrested for some sort of child related sexual assault. They’ve always been f****** weird. All of those hyper conservative, religious, 10+ kid groups are all sick.

Tylerdurden389 Mar 20, 2026 +22
Remember the days before reality tv when the only platform we gave insufferable people like this was to shun them on morning talk shows? As opposed to making them rich and famous for their deplorable behavior, which would eventually lead to things like this happening?** For the past 25 years ive never chosen to watch one second of any reality TV because i knew these people were all bad on all those shows and it was only a matter of time before these things started happening** **actually they happened before, they just weren't reported.

WhatFreshHello Mar 20, 2026 +7
Yeah, I agree. I caught some clips of 90-Day Fiancé when I still used TikTok and there’s a woman featured on the show this season that I’m fairly certain is intellectually disabled to the point that she can’t properly care for herself. It seems terribly cruel to set her up for public humiliation.

samosas-and-mimosas Mar 20, 2026 +39
How can this be? I thought this good, Christian family was morally superior!! /s

wrenbell Mar 21, 2026 +11
what the f***......this is the 4th Duggar to have some kind of criminal charge relating to a minor. Joshua (CP), Jana (child endangerment), Joseph, and now Kendra. Much bible. Such godly. 😬
11
goldstandardalmonds Mar 21, 2026 +6
Never knew about Jana. What was that about?

Remember, the right-wing evangelical movement made this their model family and the pushed them onto the American public.

And guess who was also smack dab in the middle, Mike Huckabee. That pile of shit is fully entrenched in the cult which has now spread into our govt.
9
Logical_Size1628 Mar 20, 2026 +10
This seems to indicate a pattern of behavior. Probably should be looked into by the FBI...
10
enjoythesilence-75 Mar 21, 2026 +15
Funny how it’s always the rightest wing most conservative most religious ones that are the ones taping children. Is Huckabee going to help these fuckers get away with everything too?

It’s always a bad sign when you see the word “compound” when describing where these freaks live.
6
moosejaw296 Mar 21, 2026 +9
Usually abusers were abused so should start looking at the older family members now.
9
AnastasiaNo70 Mar 21, 2026 +7
Tax the churches and start investigating all these cults that hurt children!
7
Telyesumpin Mar 21, 2026 +8
He's wanted in Florida for SA of a minor and being extradited there. Didn't Florida just pass a bill giving child molesters the death penalty? Is he going to be the first?
8

7

Sexual repression. Push it down hard enough and it erupts out in deplorable ways apparently.

She looks like a child herself. How old is she?
7
PretendLab1106 Mar 20, 2026 +13
What is false imprisonment? Can someone explain the charges in layman terms?
13
Galrafloof Mar 20, 2026 +31
It's keeping somebody somewhere against their will, either via physical restraint or threats. It's different from kidnapping in that kidnapping is the movement of a person from one place to another against their will. The other charge, endangerment of a minor, is kinda what it says on the tin, and encompasses a wide variety of things that may not fall under other charges but are still harming a child. Common occurrences that bring this charge are DUI with a minor in the vehicle, leaving drugs, alcohol, or weapons where a minor could easily access them, things like that. The minor doesn't need to have actually gotten hurt, just that they were in a position where they were in imminent danger. This charge can also be brought if somebody was a witness to abuse of a minor and didn't report it. She has four counts of both of these. She has four children. Obligatory not a lawyer and definitely not your lawyer, none of this constitutes legal advice or an attorney-client relationship.

PretendLab1106 Mar 20, 2026 +6
Thanks for the explanation. This whole story is wildly sad.
6
NoKatyDidnt Mar 21, 2026 +6
My very first thought upon seeing the number and type of charges was that she and the children might have been present when J was doing what he did.
6
WhatFreshHello Mar 20, 2026 +9
It could also be preventing someone else’s child from leaving by force or threats. I don’t know if this was some horrible situation discovered when police went to arrest Kendra’s husband or if it somehow relates to the husband’s charges, e.g. if Kendra had tried to hold the victim somewhere to prevent her from reporting. I’m on the fence as to whether TLC producers should burn in hell for making Jim Bob Duggar rich as hell or if they deserve some small credit for shining a light on these cults. Speaking of Jim Bob, his father was a known child predator, so it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that he carried on the family tradition with his kids while Michelle kept sweet and prayed about it.
9
AlexisRosesHands Mar 20, 2026 +6
Like maybe locking a door so the kids can’t leave.
6
nannerbananers Mar 21, 2026 +5
It’s 2nd degree so it’s restraining a child that you don’t have the legal authority to restrain without risk of physical harm. I think she hid the kids from investigators.
5
notallslendermen Mar 20, 2026 +4
F****** hell, I knew this family was messed up but I stupidly didnt expect it to be this bad. Feel awful for their kids, I hope they end up breaking the cycle but that seems to be rare in this cult.
4
LakeEarth Mar 20, 2026 +6
It's always the people you most suspect.

The whole clan gives me the ick, but I have been SO fascinated by them. Can’t say I am surprised by this news.
4
Whatever21703 Mar 21, 2026 +3
Wait, he did this in Florida? Didn’t they just Pass a law with the death penalty as the punishment for raping a child under 12?
3
HolidayDocument7015 Mar 21, 2026 +4
Obviously, their Arkansas arrest is unrelated to his arrest in Florida. There’s limited information about the specific charges due to the involvement of minors, but my hunch is that she (along with her husband) prevented a forensic exam of their four children, all age six and under. Typically, this would involve both a forensic interview and a medical examination.
4
Yaseuk Mar 21, 2026 +3
Everything about that family is so scary
3
SilverFoxKenobi Mar 21, 2026 +4
My parents tried to force us into this cult. Luckily I escaped, my whole family didn't. I hate to see so many abused by it's grasp. The leader resigned due to accusations of this nature. They demonize anything remotely sexual and project evil to an extreme degree that its temptation amplifies. F*** cults. F*** treating your wife and kids like slaves. F*** everything about IBLP.
4
Dry_Jellyfish641 Mar 21, 2026 +4
How many Duggars are in prison for sex crimes now?
4

It’s really playing into the whole stereotype…

OMG?? This is definitely a twist
3
GrimmTrixX Mar 20, 2026 +3
I mean i assume he had children knowing this cult family. So the kids were probably theirs and she allowed it to happen or tried to sweep it under the rug. This whole family is just a big bag of trauma
