They are smug because they truly believe that whatever they chose to do can be undone with a request for forgiveness. As if real life works this way. They hurt anyone in any way, but simply ask and forgiveness is granted. What they neglect to face is the person who they sinned against is exactly how they left them, hurt in some way. But who cares, “my lord has forgiven me”. Twisted thought processes.

Atonement is the the phrase and actually feeling contrition for doing something wrong is what they dont feel.

No, I will not use the word atonement because atonement is “reparation for a wrong or injury.”. Many times it isn’t possible to provide reparations. You can’t unring a bell, or remove a memory of abuse. So no, hearing “it’s between me and the lord, I’ve asked for forgiveness“ doesn’t get it whether a person is “feeling contrition” or not.

Charged with “Four counts”, and they have four kids. Sounds like an issue may have come up with them not releasing the kids to law enforcement for an interview. ”Child endangerment, false imprisonment” could be withholding the kids from LE or social services.

Agree, my educated hunch is that she (along with her husband) prevented a forensic exam of their four children, all age six and under. Typically, this would involve both a forensic interview and a medical examination. There’s limited information about the specific charges due to the involvement of the four minors.

That's what I think it is. CPS probably wanted to interview or take the kids and they wouldn't let them.

She wouldn’t get that charge for denying an interview. If parents deny an interview (their right and it happens from time to time), a judge just signs an order to produce the child based upon a sworn affidavit detailing the pending investigation. It’s more likely that they had locks on the outside of the kids’ bedroom doors or something. (Source: I am a child welfare attorney and this is my area of expertise.)

Yes, and why not let them? I mean, obviously CPS isn’t without fault, but they‘re all very young, under 5 or 6, so how risky is an interview, who knows. If they weren’t letting the kids stay in the home I’d imagine Michelle would take them in rather than foster care. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, since it’s Florida, not Arkansas.

It's going to be interesting when the kids of the "quiver full" movement come out of the cult. Both in their stories and voting interest. Most of the few that my limited interaction has been with, are strongly against separation of church and state. A couple who stated they will have a hard time ever trusting someone who puts their faith out there for voting points. The majority, of again my limited exposure, that I've spent time with, sexual abuse is more the norm than the exception.

I really don’t like how these articles have actually been detailing the act of the molestation itself (i.e. writing out everything he did to the victim). Why does anyone outside of the legal profession or a jury need to know exactly what he asked the child to do? Like, everyone in their small-ass town probably already knows who the victim is without having to read every sick detail of the abuse in a tabloid; not to mention the actual abusers who will read it too and enjoy it… 🤢
