The Four Seasons Landscaping press conference and trump taking a sharpie to redirect the path of a hurricane to match a state he mistakenly said it was going to hit live on tv is still the stupidest thing to ever come out of either of the trump presidencies. It still makes me laugh how stupid it is.
30
doyletyree Apr 15, 2026 +14
The Four Seasons thing seems like something I would have to have dreamed. Seriously. My consciousness keeps suppressing it as noise until it comes back up. It’s beyond ludicrous to the point of feeling staged and I can’t tell if I’d feel better if it had been or if I want to live with the reality that’s presented.
14
Substantial-Ease567 Apr 15, 2026 +3
They kept inventing new transportation to throw old Giuliani under. Stranding his press conference in that parking lot was next-level humiliation for that disgusting maga pos.
3
turfnerd82 Apr 15, 2026 +12
What's funnier is they got there realized that it was a landscaping company next to a d**** shop and said screw it let's do this. Instead of just waiting to call the actual 4 seasons and get it right in a few days.

Not even. During the 1992 Super Bowl halftime, Fox aired a special live episode of In Living Color as counter-programming to CBS's figure skating show. The move was a massive success, drawing roughly 28.9 million viewers.

Here's the thing - Kid Rock fell into the category of "music you secretly kinda like but don't really talk about it." Most regular people could bounce their heads to a Kid Rock song and even be fine with seeing him live in some type of festival or tour with multiple bands. When he was just being a dude that wants to just play rock music all night, most people (yes, even left-leaning liberal people) were fine with it. But then he had to hitch his wagon directly to Donald Trump, attack Budweiser for an innocuous ad campaign, and ultimately make himself a complete pariah to about 2/3rds of the population. This festival normally would be selling tickets regularly like any other festival, he'd make money, have fun on stage, and then everyone would go home happy. But nope, he just HAD to link himself to Trump, and now he's in freefall. He deserves every bit of it for being stupid enough to think it would make him more popular to do this when most artists know connecting yourself to Trump can really f*** your career up. Ask "The Piano Guys" how doing something for the Trump Administration goes for your career. Spoiler: their videos on YouTube went from getting millions of hits to almost nothing overnight.
144
lykathea2 Apr 15, 2026 +37
Yeah, as the video Todd In The Shadows made about him beautifully laid out, he was the guy you bring out to the award shows with older rockers like Steven Tyler, Slash, or Eddie Van Halen or whoever to bridge the gap between older rock and current stuff. He was kind of the last beacon of Classic Southern Rock in the eyes of some, but he ruined all of that for Trump, and basically killed off that part of his career. Then, his anti Biden album debuted at like 188 on the Billboard 200 and was hilariously a huge flop.

Also Kid Rock, in his song Cool, Daddy Cool: - Now some people say my mind's blown - I'm coolin' like a snow cone - On my cell phone, I'm paid, G - Can't call me, just page me (Daddy, yeah) - . - Young ladies, young ladies - I like 'em underage, see - Some say that's statutory - But I say it's mandatory
10
GoldandBlue Apr 15, 2026 +5
> attack Budweiser for an innocuous ad campaign Just to clarify. It was not an ad campaign. They paid an influencer for a post. That is it. They were mad that a trans woman did a social media post for Budweiser.

rachelblairy Apr 16, 2026 +5
he was my mom’s favorite artist, and about a decade ago i floated the idea of ‘you know, if it’s ever affordable it might be nice to see him in memory of her’. but now there’s this and i’m mostly just glad she didn’t have to watch his downfall.

Everyone replying about how it’s inaccurate that people kind of secretly liked his music because they personally never did are missing the point. He was kind of the equivalent of country-rock elevator music. It wasn’t something most people disliked and it was fine in the background. Which is why it’s been a regular on many different radio stations. You really didn’t search out his music, but most people probably weren’t changing the station either. On another note, it’s amusing about the whole hitching his wagon to Trump thing because he was already supported by MAGAs demographic by default. All he really needed to do was keep his mouth shut politically.
9
AdenJax69 Apr 15, 2026 +4
Exactly. He had enough fans that still bought his wares and could be on tours/festivals to make enough money because while I & lots of us on Listnook don't give a shit about him, there's still millions of people that were fans of his and willing to buy a ticket to see him. When he went full-Trump is when he lost the bulk of his fanbase that aren't Trumpers and just wanted America-is-awesome music.
4
-NotEnoughMinerals Apr 15, 2026 +3
>Everyone replying about how it’s inaccurate that people kind of secretly liked his music because they personally never did are missing the point. Yep, spit the facts! >He was kind of the equivalent of country-rock elevator music. It wasn’t something most people disliked and it was fine in the background. ....what? Are we just rewriting history or what exactly is going on here? Devil without a cause sold like 14 million records. His next album continued on to go like 5x platinum. He was massive. Absolutely monstrous. A household name. Everyone did the exact opposite of what you claim--they seeked out his music. His Woodstock performance found on YT should tell you all you need to know.
3
fluorescentroses Apr 15, 2026 +6
Yeah, he was *huge* for a minute in the late 90s and early 00s, claiming otherwise is wild. I liked Devil Without a Cause quite a bit, especially Bawitdaba and Cowboy, and *loved* American Badass from whatever that next record was, in part because of the Metallica colab on it. I was also 13 at the time, *and* being born and raised in Detroit and - unaware at the time that his claims of growing up poor and being from the city were bullshit lies - loved how many Detroiters (or Metro-Detroiters) were making it around that time (The White Stripes/Jack White, Eminem, Uncle Kracker, Ty Stone, etc). I still enjoy the *type* of music he made back then (but then I'm a trash human who genuinely still likes nu metal and rap-rock), but very quickly lost interest in him specifically.
6
Tibbaryllis2 Apr 16, 2026 +7
I entirely agree he *was* huge. I’m just saying more recently, after his peak, either you liked his music still or at the very least it was largely not disliked. At absolute minimum, he wasn’t something most people would actively avoid. He easily could have sailed through his later life continuing to do festivals and whatnot. And now that has obviously changed and he gained nothing in this exchange.
7
DC8008008 Apr 15, 2026 +31
Kid Rock fell into the category of "music you secretly kinda like but don't really talk about it." Man, lol. Absolutely not.
31
FrostyIntention Apr 15, 2026 +4
Although he may have paved the way for what some now call bro country with his cowboy song, I would say the parts that folks are bobbing their heads to are mostly actually samples that he uses, such as "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon, which are those bangers.

So much for culture wars... So all those gop people telling me dei were the ones preventing the success of artists like kid rock and that everyone hated woke and that now it would all be over... Seems to me, people like what people like and the "cancel culture" from woke people is just them standing for what their morals are and you can't force wokes to spend money on something they don't want to.
4
Affectionate-Bath970 Apr 15, 2026 +3
I say this without any sort of political bias Kid rock is the antichrist of music. He is the opposite of music. His shit was cooked up in a lab in a manner that has been scientifically calculated to be the most souless, bland, god-awful garbage barely fit for human ears. The whole MAGA thing just is the enormous cherry ontop of the shit-cake.

skyppie Apr 16, 2026 +3
God I would hate it if I was one of the few that bought it full price only for him to slash tickets in half weeks later.

Opie045 Apr 16, 2026 +3
Play stupid games and you win stupid prizes

He’s also accepting payment in insulated or exposed copper wire.

KAM7 Apr 16, 2026 +3
I guess Russia isn’t buying as many tickets these days since Trump decided to attack their allies in the Middle East.

Politics aside, his music sucks.

Careless-Platypus967 Apr 15, 2026 +5
If he would have just pretended not to be a POS, I would probably see him cuz I grew up listening to him with my bio-dad. I imagine a lot of people are in that boat. But absolutely not now

Dillenger69 Apr 15, 2026 +2
You couldn't pay me to go for under ,oh say, a million.  Who am I kidding. I'd go as low as 350k. At least my house would be paid off

Objective-Lab5179 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Having seen Kid Rock live, back in 2004 before he decided to publicly fellate Trump, my advice is for people to spend their money at SixFlags instead because they can watch one of those rock n roll revue shows between rides which is more or less the same thing.
2
Chaos_Theory1989 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Eat Trump’s $hit.
2
fluffHead_0919 Apr 15, 2026 +2
It would be hilarious for a bunch of people to go in drag and just party hard and chomp over his shitty set.
2
MrThorntonReed Apr 15, 2026 +2
We can’t afford to go to the dentist or to eat, Kid, let alone festivals. Plus you’re a gigantic pile of shit human being, so it kind of works out sorta.
2
Ulysse-Void-God Apr 15, 2026 +2
They could be free and they still wouldn’t be worth it.
2
Conscious-Code6612 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Maybe he should go get a whaaa burger and some French cries
2
Dazzling-Ad-8639 Apr 15, 2026 +2
I’d pay 10 bucks to see him if I could throw rotten tomatoes at him
2
Remote-Ad-2686 Apr 15, 2026 +2
I wouldn’t go if he paid for the flight to boot !!
2
Potstocks45 Apr 15, 2026 +2

2
Dsighn Apr 15, 2026 +2
I’m surprised he could sell tickets after 2006
2
Acthinian Apr 15, 2026 +2
Yeah… no thanks
2
basicotter Apr 15, 2026 +2
I actually hear they’re PAYING protes—I mean people to attend!!
2
wrhnj Apr 15, 2026 +2
I’d go for if he’s willing to pay to be seat filler. My rate is $20k a day or $50k for the entire festival plus travel and meal expenses.
2
Silver_Daikon6974 Apr 15, 2026 +2
How bout 50% of my boot in his ass..
2
Civil-Carpenter8569 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Just go down with the ship…..
2
Useful-Soup8161 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Well no shit. His tickets are more expensive than Taylor Swift’s era tour tickets were initially.
2
atomicbunny Apr 15, 2026 +2
This is somehow Bad Bunny's fault.
2
Epicardiectomist Apr 15, 2026 +2
Kid Rock, Kid Rock, is that you? no one's buying tickets, what am I gonna do?
2
Foomankru Apr 15, 2026 +2
It must be some kind of feeling to be at the absolute peak in popularity at one point and then now offering discounts to your music festival. I hope he has the day he deserves.
2
Money-Snow-2749 Apr 15, 2026 +2
There’s only so many times you can sit through watching a 50+ year old sing “American Badass.” His discography aged like almond milk without preservatives.
2
Money-Snow-2749 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Ugh I’d rather go hang out in a parking lot with Juggalos.
2
InsomniaticWanderer Apr 15, 2026 +2
The free market at work
2
norsk_imposter Apr 15, 2026 +2

2
Quick-Maintenance-67 Apr 15, 2026 +2
I'd pay money to not see Kid Rock
2
CharlieBravo74 Apr 15, 2026 +2
Everyone say it with me now... EVERYTHING TRUMP TOUCHES DIES In this case I'm not sad to see Kid Rock's career be his latest victim.
2
HmmmmGoodQuestion Apr 15, 2026 +2
I would pay 100 bucks to not go to a Kid Rock concert.
