He'd be safer staying in the UK, plus Trump needs to be ignored, not pandered to.

The strategy is to manipulate him with flattery to delay the tantrums while quietly de-coupling in the background. As much as I detest Trump, this is the correct play while we manage the separation.

It's not like their job is to literally make the king look great and powerful or something. /s

No, according to how we saw it go down months ago. We noticed it immediately in Canada because it was extremely topical to us, for everyone else maybe it took until 3 weeks ago.
Trump was going hard into the 51st state stuff, he had a royal visit where at the time the King made it clear that Canada was sovereign, he played to Trumps ego by making him feel special, and trump stopped the 51st state stuff
I hate the monarchy, but it actually worked for once so credit where credit is due

"Yeah. I can't trust a man who drinks one of those things. Reminds me of that film where the Brits stopped our laser weapon. Or maybe it was the Russian one. We never did get space lasers did we, maybe it was the Brits fault. Maybe they based it on this guy. Who have we got that we can counter them with, who was the guy that rode the jetski in Prague?"
"The jetski?"
"Yeah. One of our top guys - the best. Had a name that sounded like fuel"
"Vin Diesel?"
"Yeah that's the guy! Get him on the phone. We aren't going to be outdone by.some Brits that drink that fancy shit. We need muscles beer and guns. That's who I want. Intimidating. Beats losers in a tux."

And if they wanted to stage anything for internet clout or improve ratings, British are generally better at acting and putting a theatrical performance instead manufacture a threat and then after a shooting have Trump the TV actor give a long speech about why heeds a ballroom 10 minutes after allegedly almost losing his life at a press conference dinner.

9
grathontolarsdatarodApr 26, 2026
+9
You should think on your anti monarchist stance.
Really, that family is a political hostage to public service. They are the living embodiment of the constitution, and what is currently happening in the united states is the exact example as to why the institution of the monarchy is maintained.
9
Drunkgummybear1Apr 26, 2026
+7
Yeah, I was pretty staunchy anti monarchy until fairly recently. Don’t get me wrong, would love to see it ended. But there advantages to having “remember what happened to your cousins” over your head of state.
7
Loki_of_AsgaardApr 26, 2026
-1
That is no where near enough to make me change my stance on the monarchy. Personally I don’t like it because it creates tiers of rights and privileges, it is a legal policy that some people have more rights and privileges based on their birth. That is toxic system by default in my eyes
We can have that position in a republic, look at Ireland as a perfect example of this. After independence they maintained the Westminster system of government and replaced the role of the monarch with an appointed president. Most famously it’s the guy who looks like a leprechaun with the giant dogs.
We basically already have this with the governor general, the difference would be that that position no longer represented the king.
-1
grathontolarsdatarodApr 26, 2026
+2
I get what you're saying.
But when you have a line of lineage, and a living example of it. It changes things.
There can be only one dictator. And king Charles, and his mother before him, showed us exactly how dictators behave.
You pretty have to kill them, to get your hands on the parts of constitutional powers that they protect with their lives.
As far as republics go, I think the USA is the perfect example of a republic to look at.
2
Loki_of_AsgaardApr 26, 2026
+1
My point about the Westminster system and Ireland is there specifically because I don’t like how the US has done their republic, and the Westminster system does not have that same flaw where a political figure is head of state.
Just like you can have constitutional monarchy or absolute monarchy the details of how the head of state is chosen in a republic is the base of how much power they really have.
The US is arguably the worst example of a republic to look at, and to dismiss the entire concept because of them is akin to dismissing monarchy because of how North Korea does things

Hoping the King has his own guard and isn’t relying on the US clown show the Secret Service has become.
They whisked JD Vance away before Trump last night. In Butler, the agents were so busy posing for the photo op they seemed to forget that if the camera could shoot him so could an assassin.
Watch videos of Ford & Reagan attempts to see serious secret service in action.

In the '70s King Charles got the nickname "Action Man" for his hands-on approach to military service and adventurous hobbies.
UK government can't confirm nor deny that the appropriate security detail is to protect Cadet Bonespurs from him in case there are untimely references to Canada or Falkland Islands.
