Peskov is already throwing a tantrum and saying how they won't congratulate the new leadership.  Looks like they got their reply from Hungary and didn't like it.

A pragmatic tie would be a noose for Putin.

Meanwhile they are chanting, "Russians go home!" on the streets in Hungary after the election.

Yeaaaah no people are remembering now that Russia has for most of its history tried to take bites out of Europe. The recent “cutsie” Russia is gone

I mean..that was all of Europe for most of it's history. It matters that they still do it

You think Russia is the largest country on earth because they respected their neighbor borders throughout their history ? 😌

Russia did not fight for 90% of its territories. Most of the territories were never inhabited. And now answer my question: was there at least one major power in Europe over the last 300 years that did not try to take a piece of land from Russia? You can use Google or GPT, I’ll wait.

Weird how you zoom out to 300 years while skipping over the past 4 years of trying to take Ukraine and decades of f****** with the former Soviet states. Yes, the German nazis invaded in ww2. I think quite a bit has changed since then but poor Russia, right? The west is always out to get them! Always the f****** victim.

Just showing up for like 2 years does not qualify as 'taking land' Russia on the other hand couldn't be deep enough in other people's countries for decades and counting

Umm, you do realize that I’m replying to "Russia has for most of its history tried to take bites out of Europe." ?

You made it seem like Russia is constantly being attacked by powers trying to steal territories. It’s been 80 years since the last instance but within those same 80 years who has been the a****** trying to conquer and f*** with other countries politics, sovereignty, etc? So excuse me for calling you out for being a Russian apologist because it’s exactly how you are coming across.

Wym, Finland, Swedish Empire, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, post ww1 Poland, Chechnya, Georgia, the Baltics, Great Game Era Afghanistan, The Ottoman Empire, Crimean Tartars, every other Warsaw pact nation, post world war 1 and modern Ukraine and the hundreds of indigenous tribes Russia wiped out in central and northeast Asia, would all like a word with you little bro.

I first thought I would break down every example you gave, but then I saw the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth in the list, which literally captured Moscow and held it for 2 years. You’re either a troll or just an idiot.

Spain

You could also add the Kingdom of Sardinia here they were close to Spain in terms of influence, economy, and military strength. By major power I meant countries that were like top 5 in Europe. The fact that you brought Spain into this says quite a lot.

> "Hungary has made its choice, and we respect that choice," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. That just sounds so vile after their experts tried to help Orban win the last weeks. And the "sabotage" in Serbia... yeah, not playing fair, but then saying to "respect that choice" against them. I mean... in the end this statement today is a normal political statement from Russia, it just sounds so false. Ugh.

What is this long-term plan?
1
Wonderful-Pause1048 6 days ago +11
Defeat Ukraine, invade Poland and Germany, fight against Europe and take it over -> Make Russia To Russian Empire Again

someocculthand 6 days ago +13
If that's the plan, he's not doing a very good job of it.

The Russian empire has never controlled Western Europe. Even at its peak there is not much territorial difference from today, with the major difference being the loss of Kazakhstan.

So he played Command and Conquer - Red Alert ... the Allies had the cooler campaign though, and Putin has no Kane helping him like Stalin

Which he then apparently withdrew as Magyar said he doesn't believe in Ukraine ceding territory. Pragmatic relationship = "We're bigger and we want it". They basically admit that in principle they're invading but practically there's little others can do about it.
