Arthurian Sci-Fi was such a WTF fun time! Also a very cool shout-out to this film in Ready Player One.
My bro and I still quote this movie randomly after burning through a couple of VHS copies. "Only the king and his lord marshall carry this key!" "Rocks in our pockets and gravestones over our heads is all we will get from this journey" also RIP to that one cool character who sacrifices himself for the squad and a young Liam Neeson.

Early James Horner is such a complex presentation of writing and orchestration - he wrote the whole score in three weeks if not mistaken (while ill). And it is packed in throughout the film, very few scenes don’t have music.

I remember watching this as a kid and being confused. Is it fantasy? Scifi? Both? Star Wars had laser guns and laser swords. That made sense. This had laser guns and axes? It just didn't add up. If the bad guys had Indiana Jones on their side the movie would have been over pretty quick.
