The insanity and ego behind this movie makes me really want to see it flop.

Honestly not sure why the family would want to open that can of worms by putting him back in the spotlight.
Folks will likely always remember how talented he was but the darkness that surrounds his legacy and who/what he was will always overshadow it.

Because they know there is a certain group of people who cannot let Micheal go and see that he was not the guy he thought he was. They knew they’d still make money off of his biggest fans

Good point. To this day there are folks out there who just seem incapable of coming to terms with what he was and the things he did.
I see it online fron time to time there are still people who get extremely offended and defensive if you mention anything about the deeply troubling side of Michael and seem to only want to lavish him with praise.

Yea his daughter said the movie was basically a super fan service that ignored a lot of realities and I believe that

I hear it ends in 1988 following his Bad tour.
That’s like ending the Aaron Hernandez biopic with him getting drafted by the New England Patriots.

It ends in the early 80s when he toured with his brothers for the last time.
There is a short scene of him performing in 1987 and then it says to be continued.
So it's intended to just be part one.

It seems like Janet knew this was a shameless way for her siblings to ride what’s left of MJs legacy.

Who asked for a Michael Jackson movie? We had a pretty realistic one back in the early 90s that was more of a television mini series, but it was still A list quality filmmaking.

His family, so they could make some more money from his image.
