Lebanon & the US have agreed to a 3rd round of talks, and Lebanon wants Israel to cease its operations. Though, it doesn't sound like hezbollah wants to do it. >Beirut's decision to hold face-to-face contacts with Israel reflects a deep divide in Lebanon over Hezbollah's arsenal and the group's decision to attack Israel. Critics accuse the group of unilaterally dragging Lebanon into war. That is what happens when a large armed group attacks another country, there will be reprisals, especially when there was a ceasefire agreement for them to disarm. >Hezbollah has demanded the government cancel the talks. Given that hezbollah is part of the government, this is going to be an issue for any talks. And it's going to link back 20+ years ago that hezbollah was supposed to be disarmed, and even the last ceasefire. Isreal isn't going to see any point unless Lebanon actually makes a good faith effort. Edit: fixed a couple words

Unfortunately hezbo only care about hezbo and IRGC, while the Israel only cares about Israel and Israelis.

Why do reprisals seem to involve the obliteration of entire town? Is this real?

Because a lot of the state officials of Israel and members of the IDF do not see Arabs as people, as they made pretty clear already: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intent\_and\_incitement\_in\_the\_Gaza\_genocide](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intent_and_incitement_in_the_Gaza_genocide)

Lebanon can complain if it can actually play a meaningful role in resolving this conflict, which it can't.

Lebanon should be pressuring Hezbollah to stop attacking Israel.

It would work better if they put pressure on Hezbollah rather than the US.

Oh this old chestnut. Does Lebanon have a list, too? Maybe an arms cache in an MRI room for good measure?

What's the "excuse"? You know the reason. Jihadist scum always hides among civilians.

So did the US in the Middle East when Iran was rocketing Us bases. Seems like it’s been a pretty convenient excuse to abuse in Palestine and Lebanon

US bases are not in the middle of cities. They are in remote areas with no civilians.

If only Lebanon has had decades to apprehend hezbollah and other terrorists

Maybe Lebanon could recognize Israel and work together for peace instead of letting a non state actor have more military power then Lebanon.

Which Hezbollah nominated member of the Lebanon government is lying about wanting peace while Hezbollah fires drones from apartment buildings in Lebanon to apartment buildings in Israel?
