Lena Dunham gave her rapist friend a fake alibi.

Lena Dunham fingered her sister

Molested her sister*

Horny_GoatWeed Apr 14, 2026 -2
I don't like Dunham, but a 7 year old examining her sister's v***** is not molestation. Including it in her book and then defending it was quite stupid on her part.

She was 7? I've heard this story for a long time but never knew she was a child.

They know it and just want to make their point.

Child on child sexual assault is *real* and common. It still counts as molestation. This is coming from an actual victim of it telling you it’s still molestation and just as traumatic even if it’s another child

David Bowie raped a child. I’m just highlighting how wildly different people view r*** /molestation. Some are cancelled over accusations while others are celebrated.

The double-standart is quite obvious when you see wildly misogynist comments here calling her fat or unfuckable, while David Bowie and lots of others are celebrated without any nuances. They’re also using child on child abuse to make their point. This situation is unfortunately quite common, and cancelling someone that was abusive as a child and that was forgiven by the victim does not help at all and is insensitive towards the actual victim. They don’t really care about victims or fighting sexual assault.

1 she wrote the character. 2 it’s called acting 3 she got a book coming out so ofc she gonna try to drum up publicity.

Why say it now? She was the creator of the show and could've fired him at any time. Seems like bullshit to do this a decade later when the guy has kids that are going to read this.

KanataToGoldenLake Apr 14, 2026 +53
>Why say it now? To try and remain relevant as she became a social pariah after she disclosed she fingered her younger sister when the sister was a young child.

Wtf she did that and told people she did that?

473025 Apr 14, 2026 -2
Wasn’t she also a child ? Do you even care about victims or children on children agressions or are you just throwing accusions on internet to make a point about people you dislike ?
-2
KanataToGoldenLake Apr 14, 2026
>Do you even care about victims or children on children agressions I don't f*** with whataboutism. >are you just throwing accusions on internet to make a point about people you dislike ? **Accusations** It's not an accusation, it's a self disclosed piece of information that she willingly chose to share in a book that she wrote for some f****** reason.

473025 Apr 14, 2026 +5
It is not a whataboutism and people not able to make a distinction between adults agressing others, and children agressing other children are piece of shit. And she shared this information with the agreement of the victim that forgive her, in fact. Again, you don’t care about victims of sexual assault. Pretending that some people are inherently, by nature, predators, that will never change once adult, is a total misunderstanding of sexual assault, and does not help to fight this phenomenon

In the book, she hired and liked him for this behavior. In the book she said she hired him "“all ears and nose, gangly and pigeon-toed,” whom she cast after an audition in which he bit her shoulder and then left without farewell or explanation, "

>the guy has kids that are going to read this. This isn't really a reason to not come forward with something. Being a parent doesnt mean others gotta keep their mouths shut about stuff you hypothetically did a decade ago

herewego199209 Apr 14, 2026 +2
Again she wasn't just an actress on the show. She was the creator and boss. I don't see a scenario where she has this happen to her and Adam Driver who was a nobody until later seasons, is fired not fired on the spot.
2
FrankPapageorgio Apr 14, 2026
Because money. They cost involved in recasting a character and reshooting stuff. It's so strange because that first sex scene with him, Adam's character is kind of a verbally abusive a****** in general.

sugarwax1 Apr 14, 2026 +2
She explains that she didn't recognize it as problematic at the time. As with all things Dunham, in her mind this is really about her failings and she somehow invited it.

She’s been trying to tear that guy down since the last couple seasons of Girls when he became the big star on that show. His character development went from massive progression to pure shit for brains over night because of it.

I heard he stabbed Harrison Ford with a light saber.

Can you imagine being a legitimate actor (Adam driver) and having to put up with Lena Dunkums bullshit on the set of the show she’s making? She would be insufferable at the best of times

Writes role for method actor to be a shitty, aggressive boyfriend. Then talks shit about said method actor, who became way more famous than her about being shitty and aggressive on set.

This was a Judd Apatow-produced show. He let a neophyte run a whole TV production? Where the f*** was he?

sati_lotus Apr 18, 2026 +1
So why didn't you report it at the time? Why rag him out now?

kaesura Apr 14, 2026 +1
To be clear, in the book she isn't trying to cancel him. She found this stuff hot and part of him being a method actor. Dunham’s revelations about Adam Driver, “all ears and nose, gangly and pigeon-toed,” whom she cast after an audition in which he bit her shoulder and then left without farewell or explanation, will likely dominate much of the discussion of *Famesick*. As brilliant an actor as Driver was (and is, and a ferociously private person to boot, in a way that charges these reminiscences with something like betrayal), Dunham writes that he ploughed through boundaries in search of his character, turning his and Dunham’s first choreographed sex scene into “something intimate, confusing, and primal.” He had a tendency, she writes, to spit and throw chairs when he was angry. The pair’s closeness almost crossed lines one night, as he arrived at her apartment after calling her to say, by her recollection, “I’m warning you, if I come up, I’m not leaving this time.” (Showing uncharacteristic instincts for self-preservation, Dunham refused to let him in, knowing that “however it went, my heart—bruised but improbably not yet broken—would crack.”)

Feels like a reminder why intimacy coordinators exist now. Wild that back then it was just “trust the vibe” while people were literally throwing chairs in rehearsal.

I am shocked. He seems like such a nice guy /s
-1
sugarwax1 Apr 14, 2026 -2
Reading between the lines, he dealt with his fears by pretending he was a method actor, they ate it up until both real Adam and tv Adam were darker, and one in the same.

I've never liked Adam driver because of watching girls. He seems like one of those actors that's not playing a character.
-25
TimidPanther Apr 14, 2026 +3
So in other words - he’s a very talented actor ??
3
Nipple-biscuits Apr 14, 2026 -3
No, I don't think my previous wording should be up for interpretation. I've seen him in the Star wars movies I've seen while we were young, the report, blackkklansman, the last duel and Logan lucky and I thought he was absolute garbage in every single one of them and the only one he had "believable" acting in was girls which leans further into my theory that it was less acting and more natural
