He only regrets it because it became public, and he's now feeling the backlash from it. "Became emotional and his voice briefly broke," give me a break.

> According to the Associated Press, Jeffrey Kessler, a lawyer for the states, grilled Baker over the messages, which related to Live Nation’s price for access to the VIP area of a show at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. In the messages, Baker also called the prices “outrageous” and wrote that “I almost feel bad taking advantage” of customers, before adding, “BAHAHAHAHAHA.” > Confronted about the messages, the AP said Baker became emotional and his voice briefly broke as he said, “I used very immature and regrettable language and that was not the language I was trying to convey.”

“I only wish I used more coded language so you wouldn’t have caught me despising you”

It's okay, we already know what you think of us from the way you've been ripping us off all these years.

Hes right. The prices are the way they are because morons pay them

Yeah f****** morons!!!! These f****** idiots “scrimped and saved” just because they love the music and want to see it and support their favorite artists, or want to make a once in a lifetime memory with a loved one, f****** idiots. It’s not like live nation created a monopoly so they were basically the only seller and controlled the whole market, and used dynamic pricing to squeeze every last dime out of that individual idiot who’s too dumb to just go buy a ticket somewhere else.

Yes but you also have the option to vote with your wallet. They wouldn’t keep raising pries if people refused to pay. The buyers let them get that way

I’ve worked in advertising agencies…I’ve been in Google and Meta offices…I’ve heard some shit from high level folks that are inline with this. That’s how people in business look at consumers…they look at the consumer as a sucker, someone we can manipulate and trick into buying our shit. They may not directly use those words but I know that’s their sentiment.

That's the entire premise of advertising. It exists to make you feel inadequate.

In the eyes of Reddit we’re consumers here…”Consuming” content. Same over at YouTube and insta. It’s why the McDonalds CEO calls his Big Mac a product and not a burger. Everything is a money grab.

what’s funny to me is that each and every one of these CEO’s and C-suite level folks is that they think they are immune from being the same “sucker” they talk poorly about. they think they are original, insightful and immune to anyone pulling the wool over their own eyes in such a way, and they couldn’t be more wrong. failing upwards.

This is the typical playbook of a narcissistic sociopath. They are all the same and SO predictable

First rule of corporate communications; if it is written down it can be subpoenaed.

“Hey Head of asset class sales, can you explain xyz transaction” “Calling you now” Or “walking over to your desk” or *phone rings*

"That was not the language I was trying to convey." I don't know. That language seems pretty deliberate like it was exactly what you were trying to convey. This isn't one of those, "it was over text so you don't understand the tone." It seems pretty obvious he was gloating over the fact that he was screwing over customers.
