I agree for sure, but there's always a story and I'm interested in seeing where the character went personally so it'll be cool for me.

Should've at least been nominated for an Oscar. What a great movie!

Thank god they didn't bring back Jared Leto (no spoilers).
I'm so tired of Jared Leto.
Lord of War was a fantastic film. You owe it to yourself to see just the intro sequence alone - it's really powerful and well thought out, and it'll speak to you on an emotional level.
The rest of the film is fantastic. Except for Jared Leto. Ugh.
Hard to believe the original was 20 years ago.

I genuinely feel like the Jared Leto stuff is overblown and he was great in a few roles, including in lord of war.

My reply was removed (perhaps for the links, but it's easy to google).
\- Dude sent used condoms and dead animals to co-stars
\- Dude acts like an a****** to his film crew
\- Dude slept with underage girls back during his music days
\- Dude exposed himself to women and was a sex pest well into his 30s and 40s

I love the original and I just can't see a sequel being anything close to a good idea. Sometimes standalone stories hold more weight. I feel the same way about District 9, but what's his name, the director, seems intent on making a sequel anyway.

> The sequel to the 2005 movie, Lord of War, which starred Oscar w***** **Nicolas Cage,** sees the actor reprising his role as Yuri Orlov, the world’s most notorious arms dealer. When Yuri discovers he has a son, Anton **(Bill Skarsgård)**, a ruthless mercenary mastermind bent on surpassing his father by building a private army and exploiting America’s wars in the Middle East, he is thrust into a deadly battle for legacy. What begins as a shocking revelation ignites a fierce father-son rivalry fueled by power, ambition, and betrayal – with the global arms trade hanging in the balance.
> Lord of War grossed $72M at the global box office.
> Lords of War recently wrapped production in Morocco, and was written and directed by Niccol. Pic also stars
- **Laura Harrier** (White Men Can’t Jump)
- **Sylvia Hoeks** (A Sacrifice)

No Jared Leto? Noice. With how many movies he's in right now I was worried they'd make it a prequel to bring him back or something. Glad it's a sequel.
