Just lost Essentially all my money sport betting and this is not the first time I haven’t learned from this stupid addicted but I need to find a job. I do real estate right now but legit don’t make anything with it being all commission and finding a salary job has definitely not been easy and I don’t want a 10$ an hour job. Im definitely ranting a little here but damn life sucks right now
Stay strong bro you'll get through it. I believe in you. Never go gambling again btw 🙏🙏😭

I can understand that mann and sports betting is relatively safer I think since you're not betting against the house. But a bad day could potentially drain it all yk :(
Maybe look into stocks and bonds which will not be as rewarding but safer.

Please seek help with Gambler’s Anonymous…my best friend did this as well and hit rock bottom at one point- had to move back home after being independent for several years. It’s not your fault- there is a reasoning behind your inability to stop. But she did- for 15 years now- as well as many others. I think it can help you with your gambling addiction (because that’s what it is an addiction just like drugs or alcohol) as well as find a place to network and hopefully find a better job. Meetings are free and you’ll probably make some really good friends. It won’t happen overnight but you have to take the first step to make anything happen. I wish you all the luck!!

Same I’m really lost at the moment too, I lost my job recently and have been really struggling with family stuff. Had to stop drinking and partying for my mental health but have lost all my friends in the process. I’ve also found out two of my mates have cancer, one is very serious. So life is pretty terrible for me at the moment and I’ve completely lost all sense of what life should be about. Everything seems to have fallen to shit.

Honestly man I’ve been there with addiction and it will take everything from you. You need to get professional help as soon as you can. It’s too much to do it on your own.

r/gamblingaddiction could be your support group…
Didn’t they say GLP might help with gambling addiction too? Honestly, see a doctor if it’s really something you can’t stop doing. I personally blame how every media company shills for sports betting now.

Yeah I am so upset that it’s being pushed so hard but at the end of the day it’s me who makes the bet and spends my money

A change in fortunes will come from a change in habits. Try to focus on one small thing everyday and work on it a day at a time

i get it, it's tough out there. maybe focus on networking in real estate or look into side gigs to keep the cash flow while you search for something better. don't lose hope, you got this!

Hey friend, I feel lost at the moment too after getting laid off this year so I understand feeling unmoored and directionless. I would advise you to look into the root cause of why you bet and that may help you bring your impulses under better control. Is it the excitement of the possibility of winning big? You can find healthier outlets for a need for an adrenaline rush. Is it the allure of just being better off financially? You can learn better financial habits and ways to try and find a better job, even if it takes some time, or make your money work better for you. But looking into the WHY of it might be a good place to start. I’m sorry things are tough for you. When I’ve been at my lowest I have gotten through by focusing on small joys in every day. Practicing finding things to be grateful for, like a good cup of coffee, a good conversation, a fun new book or movie you enjoyed, or even something as simple as a nice walk around the neighborhood. Have you looked into temp agencies or recruiters in your industry who might be able to help you find another job?

That is good advice and I will continue to look for a job and enjoy the small things just really feel bad that I have to tell the person that cares about me that I gambled all my money away again
