>I do not need to further expand the list of the achievements of the second half of our century. What I do want to do is to discuss some generalities about their history and the sociology which spawned them. My first point is that this period of rapid expansion was also a period of centrifugal fragmentation of physics. A somewhat self-appointed elite had already broken off in the 1930s from the study of atoms and molecules to focus on the nucleus; this was the group who formed the Manhattan Project and its offshoots during the war. After the war they had the choice of two paths. Many remained primarily concerned with weapon design and military technology, and with advising the government, primarily in military matters. Possibly the most visible and controversial example has been Edward Teller. Many others returned to their universities or to national laboratories and followed the natural evolution of their subject from nuclear physics to mesons and other subnuclear particles, or into modern astrophysics, in either case learning to spend money in gigantic amounts and to build giant accelerators. A large coterie followed both paths in different mixes, and formed a most influential group of scientist advisors, including, for instance, a considerable number of members of such groups as JASON and the Institute for Defense Analysis.
>was less than a decade after the war that a definite culture which could be called "Big Science" grew up, largely out of this nucleus which had been involved in the Manhattan Project. There were other contributors: for instance, the hope of fusion energy by magnetic or inertial confinement came to claim large subventions from the US, British and Soviet Governments. And, at least at first, the large research fission reactors at Brookhaven, Oak Ridge, Harwell, Chalk River, and eventually Grenoble were seen as "big science" because they cost on a comparable scale, but they were soon taken over as "user" facilities by large coteries of "small" scientists. The military fission program, now known to have been callously misrun, fell out of the hands of nuclear physicists, although it still taints their reputation. Finally, so-called "space science" developed rather independently as a creation of the "**military-industrial complex**" on the coat-tails of which many physicists came eventually to ride, with microgravity experiments of uniformly dubious value as well as some quite meaningful astrophysical probes and investigations into solar system physics.
>That Big Science culture in the USA, and similar groups else- where, tended to have separate, direct access to government and hence to funding sources. It was independent to a great extent of the rest of science, of which it was never a majority component except in funding. In the USA NASA, the Department of Energy (earlier the AEC), and military support operated outside of the standard peer review mecha- nisms. (The DOE funded other science, but from a separate budget.) The sums involved precluded private support, either by industry, universities, or private foundations; the former came to view Big Science not as an investment but as a "cash cow", a source of very helpful overhead charges and of enlargement of the bureaucracy, if not of actual profits.

The fanatic extremists in the White House and their billionaire supporters have been very cunning in how they phrase all of their language.
It matches nearly 100 percent perfectly with Book of Revelation/Anti-Christ language in the Bible.
They are a cult. A doomsday cult. They know they aren't actually predicting the end of the world, but, if they convince 50 million people that in fact trumpff is the anti-christ, then those people by their own actions create a self-fulfilling cycle of dis-trust, anti-social, anti-society destruction.
Which is their goal. "The Great Reset". Falsely assuming they will magically be the 1% who survives and rebuilds society under their own control.

Minnesotans braved freezing temperatures to stand up for their fellow man. Even after killing/"detaining" a few citizens, they show up, day after day, blowing whistles so people can get to safety, walking kids to school, taking their neighbors meals or groceries.
The Epstein class needs a enemy to rally people behind, and enough Americans are saying "Not my neighbor".
So now there is talk of aliens as demons, and aliens as a threat and them testing the waters to see if they can rally us to hurt ourselves for them on that threat.
Fascism always needs a threat. Always. Someone has to be the reason why the non-ruling class has a hard, awful life.

I typed in 'Why would the government use fake UFO stories' and this came up...
A 2024 Pentagon review found that the U.S. military deliberately spread fake UFO stories, staged photos, and promoted conspiracy theories, largely to protect, hide, and create "camouflage" for classified weapons programs and advanced technology testing, such as the F-117 Nighthawk stealth jet. This tactic has been used since the Cold War to mask surveillance technology and mislead foreign adversaries."
So maybe they are planning something and blame it on UFOs. I don't know but it's strange they all of a sudden start talking about this.

They've done this several times just since last year. I asked AI to remind me of all the major times:
"**Major Official Mentions (Last 12 Months)**
* **Presidential Disclosure Directive (February 2026):** President Trump directed the Pentagon and federal agencies to begin identifying and releasing government files specifically related to **"alien and extraterrestrial life"** and UAPs.
* **Launch of** [**Alien.gov**](http://Alien.gov) **(March 2026):** The White House registered the domains [**alien.gov**](http://alien.gov) and [**aliens.gov**](http://aliens.gov) to host upcoming declassified records.
* **Congressional Hearings (September 2025 & February 2026):**
* **September 2025:** The House Oversight Committee held a hearing titled *"Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection,"* where witnesses testified about potential non-human intelligence.
* **February 2026:** A follow-up hearing focused on the new administration's push for disclosure and scrutiny of classified UFO programs.
* **Legislative Action (2025):** The House introduced **H.R. 1187 (UAP Transparency Act)** in February 2025, mandating the declassification of all UAP-related records. Additionally, the **"Special Interest Alien Reporting Act of 2025"** was referred to the Senate, though this term refers to border security rather than extraterrestrials"
It's hard to remember this stuff ever happened but as I noted in another comment. It's just all part of the cycle of stuff they toss out.

bull$hit. dont hide the truth, teasing like that is a way to make himself feel powerful and facing no challenge for what he claims. put up or shut up. I hope there are aliens, we should know, I don’t want the idiots in congress as our representatives to our new alien overlords

Epstein was an alien 👽? Otherwise I want justice on this planet.

It's kinda nuts the escalation of distractions, like I wonder what do they possibly have after aliens? I'm going to be flat earth.

Can we focus on World War III and the Epstein Files?

Is he referring to the Goa'uld symbiote in RFK's head?
If so, that's old news.

Alien microbes/bacteria? Probably all over the f****** universe. Like we've found amino acids on asteroids. Simple life is probably the long-term effect of chemistry on any habitable world in a stable solar system.
Complex/animal-like life? Probably super rare. It took 2 billion years for single cells to evolve into multicellular life. But hell I wouldn't be surprised.
Complex, intelligent beings like us, at some point, somewhere in the universe? Sure. We exist so it CAN happen. There's so much space, time, and planets out there so it'd be really odd if we WERE the only ones to ever appear.
But complex, intelligent beings like us, at the same time, close enough to travel here and in possesion of interstellar technology?
We've been around for several hundred thousand years. We've only been industrialized for like 250 years and we are just blowing through our natural resources and putting the long-term human habitability of Earth at risk.
I suspect beings like us, evolving in similar competitive, Darwinian ways are just as likely to burn brightly and flame out just as we are tracking to do.
My point is, that the chances that intelligent aliens are here, on Earth subtly f****** with us is vanishing small. And I'm not going to take anything a MAGA congressman has to say very seriously without a huge amount of hard evidence.

Saw an article just yesterday talking about how we've got oodles of potential biosignatures recorded, but the burden of proof for certainty is too high to make any concrete claims. As a matter of practical reality though, we've almost certainly investigated a world or two with likely microbial life. And if we haven't, we will soon.

Iran war. Epstein files. Inflation. Rising costs. Tariff fallout. Stagnant job market. Rising Healthcare costs. ICE committing 4,400 illegal acts in 5 months as ruled by judges in court. Government shutdowns.
Unglued.

Ok so let’s forget about them then and read something more tame, the Epstein files maybe.
