I would think it'll be based around Mark Ruffalo's character, but a new case/family/bad guy(s) to throw him at. Tom Pelphrey's family's storyline is done as far as I'm concerned.

I’d almost prefer ruffalo’s character is more supporting/behind the scenes and advising a task force in action rather than him heading up another task force. Give that familiarity with season 1 characters but with a fresh cast as the mains.

I could see them coming up with some ideas for a storyline where Ruffalo takes over Martha Plimpton's job since she was being pushed to retire. Not really sure how his character would be in that position but it could be the storyline they try.

My hot take when I re-watched the first three seasons last year is that Season 3 is actually better than season 1 on re-watch. Season 1 was an epic live event but maybe it's just me but a lot Rust Cohle's character is hard to stomach on re-watch. Still a great performance and good season of TV but I found Mahershala's performance and character a lot more grounded and re-watchable. They are both great so it's not an indictment on season one exactly.

I think the real truth is Marvel doesn’t want to make the movie and never planned to in the first place. Feige just didn’t want to look bad by turning down Ali after he publicly pitched himself for the role right after he won his *second* Oscar
Marvel is probably waiting for Ali to move on so they can cancel it more quietly
