She’s trying to be the leader of the post-MAGA “America First” movement. It’s the same Christian Nationalist BS, but it’s not Trump-centered and they don’t like Israel (mostly for anti-Semitic purposes, not because they are committing a genocide)

I don't think MTG is stupid or believed in the crazy things she said-that was theater for her constituents to eat up, done on purpose. I think she was inexperienced in government, quickly learned being the most loud and obnoxious kept her in headlines and that few, if any in Congress are interesting in governing, only grifting. I think she thought she was one of the "cool kids" in Trump's favor, then learned she never was, just a tool like anyone else. She made over 20 million in suspiciously well-timed stock trades before her term ended and stayed just long enough to qualify for lifetime medicare. She got set for life and had freedom to be the first one off the Trump train, which as we currently see, is the smart thing to do if you're a rat abandoning a sinking ship. She may be a terrible person, but I don't think for one second she's dumb.

Opportunists like her aren't dumb, they are not smart though.

Selfishly cunning is maybe a better description.

there will be no America if the GOP stays in control. they follow thinkers who believe the enlightenment was a mistake people need to wake up things are a lot worse than they look

Make no mistake, her issue with Donald Trump and the Republicans is not that they've gone too far, it's that they haven't gone far enough. This woman would proudly administer death camps to make America great again. She has not had a change of heart, allegiances shifted inside a cult, and she found herself on the outside.

They're certainly not acting like they're afraid of being subject to the will of the voters in 6 months... Start a very unpopular foreign war and crash the economy, driving up gas prices which is basically the only thing every Joe Sixpack can't ignore? While they're already deep underwater in polling and losing special elections left and right? The monkeys running the zoo are not acting rationally, unless they don't expect midterms to actually happen. Unless this is some last grasp for as much as they can get before they're thrown out, it gives me pause to consider their actions vs intentions.

The midterms are done for Republicans. This war sealed it.
