Marjorie Taylor Greene Shares Post With Claim That Bullet Didn't Match Rifle in Charlie Kirk Killing

Technically the report said it was inconclusive due to damage on the bullet. So not necessarily "didn't match" but does present a tougher road for the prosecution.

rgraham888 Mar 31, 2026 +488
The issue is that, if it didn't match, it also didn't NOT match. Basically, it's just not good evidence, but isn't exculpatory, as it woulkd be if the bullet fragments showed that it was shot from another gun.

steve_dallasesq Mar 31, 2026 +172
Bingo. The headlines are a bit misleading

It doesn't matter. The Story she is putting out matches the right wing claim that. Charlie was assassinated by a government agent. This will dump jet fuel on that.

I just saw posts from people on the left saying that Trump had him assassinated because he was "too critical of the Epstein files". People are nuts.

Considering kirks wife was also involved in human trafficking it wouldn't be that surprising.

I haven’t even read a full theory, just random “conspiracy pre game” questions.

I listen to the Bulwark to summarize and make fun of it for me. People in this country have lost their minds. I have a friend who moved to a deep red area and he works with people daily who talk about these conspiracies like they are truth.
5
civil_beast Mar 31, 2026 +3
I’m of the belief that this country’s mental makeup is as it ever was. But I truly wish we had considered what would happen if we gave Nixon’s ‘silent majority’ the loudspeaker. And then id happily return to the world where I can unlearn all I have learned about the origins of their belief systems.

Bullet forensics are also kinda bunk science. Sure you can know it's the wrong caliber, but after that you start getting into handwriting analysis and polygraph territory.
18
Littlesth0b0 Mar 31, 2026 +2
but Batman...? Nah, seriously though, we're a long way from technology that can definitively match a fired round with the gun it came from once it's been through whatever it was fired at.
2
TheFalconKid Mar 31, 2026 +11
Do we know if any shell casings were found at the scene? Would an empty shell casing be useable evidence if it matches the gun he was found to have with him?
11

45
Fluffy_Brilliant_718 Mar 31, 2026 +18
Yeah, the number of people that dont understand what inconclusive means is insane. And it's absolutely how those theories start. Like the subway not using real tuna debate. When they tried to match the DNA in the subway tuna with Tuna DNA. 1) DNA changes after being cooked. 2) only used DNA of one live Genus of tuna fish when there are five, which all have different DNA, and 15 different species. The tuna shit was inconclusive because the people running the tests had no f****** clue what they were doing. And then subway had to run a huge anti-smear campaign because people on Facebook shared the headline "subway tuna contains 0 tuna DNA." My sister-in-law was one of them. She will probably tell me CK wasn't killed from a bullet over Easter dinner.

12
Tegurd Mar 31, 2026 +20
Yes. But you can’t take every crazy person at their word. Lots of people have claimed to have done stuff they hadn’t.
20
Pointlessname123321 Mar 31, 2026 +19
Pretty sure the Central Park 5 confessed too. It’s remarkably easy for a trained interrogator to get anyone to confess. Even if they are innocent (not making any specific claims, just pointing out confessions aren’t always real).
19
acemerrill Mar 31, 2026 +21
Plus cops are legally allowed to lie to you. Pretty easy to get a confession when you can lie about the evidence you have and offer fake leniency for a confession. Don't f****** talk to cops without a lawyer.
21
Pointlessname123321 Mar 31, 2026 +6
Best advice you can give. If you are talking to the police, have a lawyer present.
6
ender4171 Mar 31, 2026 +3
False confessions are fascinating to me. I absolutely know they happen, but having never been interrogated, my mind tells me there is no way I'd ever admit to something I didn't do. I'd almost like to go to a "boot camp" where I get interrogated to see how the mental shift happens for myself. At the same time though, that sounds miserable.
3
thealmightyzfactor Mar 31, 2026 +6
Some guy in the parking lot confessed too, it's super easy to make someone confess to crimes, which is why you should only tell the cops "lawyer" lol
6
CT_Phipps-Author Mar 31, 2026 +8
He did not in fact confess in the slightest. His family turned him over but he's made no public statements and the manifesto the FBI provided was created with AI.
8
Underwater_Grilling Mar 31, 2026 +5
That gun ain't the weapon though so it should be thrown out. There's *at least* 2 absolute truth statements on that rifle: It did not fire the bullet that hit kirk. Tyler did not have it on him when he jumped down from the roof.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is not credible person. She is no longer in Congress. She has nothing to contribute to public discourse. She could evaporate like the fart she is if the press would stop using idiots and liars to fuel the outrage machine to harvest those sweet, sweet clicks.
23
Littlesth0b0 Mar 31, 2026 +3
Yes, she's an agent of chaos, but it's kinda fun watching her go to town on the right the same way she went after the left previously. The lunatic fringe found it hilarious watching everyone with half a volt in their head tripping over themselves to state how mental she was, a useful distraction from the actual shifty stuff team Donald was getting up to. They let her loose to poison the water hole, now they have to drink the crazy too.

And recently there have been reports that the Russians have urged Orban to fake an assassination attempt, so as to gain sympathy and to use against his opponents before the upcoming elections. Gee, you don't suppose the Russians are doing this because they've already tried that with another politician, and it worked?

You’d have to leave Trump out the plan though, right? Zero percent chance he takes a risk with a real bullet. But who would risk their life to fire a fake one? Someone would have to be in the dark.
4
Rooooben Mar 31, 2026 +7
Correct Trump is actually a giant patsy in all of this. He’s being put up to absorb all the hate and distress, we only talk about him and his antics, while his cabinet is focused on fleecing us and stripping the government of any power that they can’t control. They genuflect and make the appearance, but if he died, he’d be their martyr and they’d just use that. It didn’t work so they used Charlie instead. They don’t care if Trump dies, in fact it would be better so they can just put Vance there who will do what they want without the appearance of chaos or retribution politics. Prefer he dies after 2 years so Vance can get 2 more terms, but I think maybe they are setting him up.

That whole thing is weird as hell. I don't mean to go all "chemtrails are turning the frogs gay" but ..... Guy supposedly shot Kirk with a bolt action long rifle. There's video of the guy jumping off the roof after Kirk was shot. You can see he's wearing a backpack but even in the low resolution you can tell nothing is sticking out of the backpack. Must have broken it down right? Guy jumps off the roof and runs off. So you're telling me, he shoots Kirk, breaks down the rifle, stores it in his backpack, jumps off the roof. Stops in a wooded area to take off his backpack, re-assemble the rifle then wrap it in a towel for any idiot to just stumble across? Bullshit.
235
Leafy0 Mar 31, 2026 +120
He broke down a non-break down model rifle? And then re-assembled it before he ditched it in the woods? And he was able to use this rifle to shoot the guy in the neck, through the popup tent obscuring his view of the persons head without putting a hole in the tent?

To say nothing of a 30-06 at distance and what it's impact force would do.. Edit: corrected, it was a 30-06 not a 308
47
PhotographStrong562 Mar 31, 2026 +86
30-06 actually. Which is even more powerful. But according to the fbi “a miracle occurred” and his neck was able to stop the round to “protect the people behind him”. Keeping in mind a 30-06 can punch right through a moose. Then they said the rifle was “too old” for ballistics testing for a while. It was a 1970’s rifle. They’ve ballistics tested shit from the civil war.
86
What_Iz_This Mar 31, 2026 +23
I hunt with a 30-06, white tailed deer. Im not saying it couldnt happen, but ive never shot a deer and NOT found an entry AND exit wound shooting the upper part of a deers abdomen. If a neck with less bone/cartilage did stop it....miracle indeed
23
Beautiful_Welcome_33 Mar 31, 2026 +4
I do think there was an absolutely savage entry and exit video from watching the video.
4
PhotographStrong562 Mar 31, 2026 +14
If he got hit with a round of -06, shot at under 200 yards, and that round impacted bone, based on my experience of shooting that round for years, his head would have nearly been blown clean off his shoulder. From my memory of the video it would have been more conducive to a large diameter bullet moving at slow, close to or below subsonic speed.
14
emailforgot Mar 31, 2026 +3

3
Deadeyejoe Mar 31, 2026 +12
There was no exit, and the entry was a bullet sized hole. The problem with people experienced with a 30-06 have (which I am one of them) is that a 30-06 would have so much of a force pressure explosion on impact, it would take out a massive segment of his neck and his head would at best be dangling by thin tissue. It would’ve been even more horrific than it already was. I’m not usually a conspiracy guy, but I just am no where close to being convinced that was a 30-06. Even just kash Patel looking cross-eyed at the camera and saying that with a straight face is surreal to me.
12
UnquestionabIe Mar 31, 2026 +7
Yeah the only thing I'm certain of is that Nazi was not shot with a 30-06. I've seen the damage they do to quite a few deer over at least three decades and no way was that pencil neck going to perform a miracle and keep his head on his shoulders. Couple that with a huge amount of absolute bullshit coming from Trump's FBI and there is absolutely no reason to trust them on any of this.
7
emailforgot Mar 31, 2026 +3

3
metarx Mar 31, 2026 +10
My bad, forgot which it was, and your correct.
10
citizensloth Mar 31, 2026 +2
It was a lead soft point bullet. That's definitely not going through a moose and can definitely be stopped by bone. Bullets can also change course through matter. Also, it wasnt a 1970s rifle. It was an 1890s Mauser that had been sporterized and probably re-barreled.
2
MyNameIsRay Mar 31, 2026 +18
Even a soft point is penetrating *at least* 15 inches, and shattering any bone in the way. Necks are only like 6", spines are hollow, a .30-06 should sail right through. When it comes to the testing, you simply fire a test bullet and compare the markings. Age/rebarreling is completely irrelevant, which is why the statement about it being too old is so strange.
18
PhotographStrong562 Mar 31, 2026 +19
Yeah. All those official details immediately come off as bullshit to anyone who’s had any experience with that caliber. Then add on the “oh he disassembled the rifle. Carried it his backpack. Reassembled it on the roof. Rifle remained zeroed??? Disassembled the rifle again in mere seconds. Again. What??! Then took off. Then decided to ditch the rifle. Okay believable, but before he did made sure to take the time to reassemble it conveniently for the authorities and leave it wrapped in a towel? And then the victims grieving wife days later says she’s forgiven him, says we all need to move on, and then later requests his trial be sped through as quickly as possible? The whole thing stinks I tell ya. Stinks.
19
MyNameIsRay Mar 31, 2026 +6
The whole assembly/disassembly/ditching sequence sure doesnt make sense to me. But, regarding the zero, thats normal. The barrel/receiver/scope splits from the stock as one unit so it all stays aligned. I split guns for transport/cleaning all the time.
6
PhotographStrong562 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Wouldn’t that only hold true if it was a floated barrel? Which in this case I don’t believe it was?
2
MyNameIsRay Mar 31, 2026 +2
No, floating the barrel has nothing to do with how the scope attaches to the receiver.
2
PhotographStrong562 Mar 31, 2026 +6
From what I’ve seen it was a m98, but produced in the last 60 years. And i don’t care what style bullet was loaded, there’s not a human neck in existence that’s stopping an -06, especially under 200 years. Ain’t happening.
6
NatalieVonCatte Mar 31, 2026 +3
Especially if they were FMJ. Hunting ammo is designed to cause catastrophic wounds. If it was a soft point or a more constructed bullet, it would have blown his throat out and possibly inflicted severe damage to his spinal column. .30-06 was dropped by the military in part because it’s overkill.
3
itisonlyaplant Mar 31, 2026 +3
I'm curious where you saw it was a FMJ or a soft point. I can't find any decent sources on the specific round used
3
Judson_Scott Mar 31, 2026 +3

We're literally talking about the investigators saying that the bullet forensics were inconclusive. The trial not being over yet has no bearing on the ATF's findings regarding the forensics of the bullet and the fact that those findings are not in favor of the regime.

It was a "Gamechanger" inside job assassination in order to stir up support and rally MAGA. Just like the fake assassination attempt on Trump. Everything was staged. We know everything about real shooters when it happens. They get news pieces for weeks. We got next to nothing on either guy. This is why Erika Kirk was so well prepared for the TPUSA takeover and seen so many times just having a great time and smiling and laughing just days after. It's all manufactured.

Still crazy, after all these years...

DoeNaught Mar 31, 2026 +5
I don't think this particular thing is that crazy. The rifle that was supposedly was used was a .30-06. That *is not* a particularly small caliber. Something like that would explode a human scull. You can check out any number of ballistic tests online. Now imagine what that would do to a neck... probably wouldn't be a lot left of it, yet there wasn't a massive exit wound. Remember when it happened there was a report that it was a "miracle" that the bullet didn't leave his body and injury someone else? >Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet on Saturday said Charlie Kirk's surgeon called it an "absolute miracle" that the bullet that killed him didn’t exit his body because dozens of people were standing behind him when he was shot. >"I want to address some of the discussion about the lack of an exit wound with Charlie. I’m usually not interested in delving into most of this kind of online chatter, and I apologize this is somewhat graphic, but in this case, the fact that there wasn’t an exit wound is probably another miracle, and I want people to know," Kolvet, the executive producer of "The Charlie Kirk Show," wrote in a lengthy post on X. >Kolvet said he had just spoken with Kirk’s surgeon, who told him the bullet "'absolutely should have gone through, which is very very normal for a high powered, high velocity round. I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two down, an elk, etc. [Source](https://www.foxnews.com/us/charlie-kirk-ally-reveals-absolute-miracle-may-have-saved-lives-during-fatal-shooting)’" They even acknowledged it was weird at the time. If there was no exit wound though that should mean the bullet was inside his body though and this is case closed...right? Just today this happened: > Robinson’s lawyers wrote in the recent court filing to District Judge Tony Graf in Utah that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) “was unable to identify the bullet recovered at autopsy to the rifle allegedly tied to Mr. Robinson.” They added that the FBI is conducting a second comparative bullet analysis and a lead bullet analysis, but neither has been completed. It’s not hard at all to imagine that Kash Patel’s FBI fucked up the evidence. They were in a big hurry to produce a suspect. Maybe they fabricated some evidence to speed things along.

justin251 Mar 31, 2026 +10
Also, wasn't the crime scene cleaned up like really fast? The tent, tables, streamers and shit all gone like within a day?

Charlie was hit by a Jewish space lazer. Everyone knows it but the coverup is deep.

Concentrate on that ear shot info instead please. I’m sure those ER records from that day are available somewhere

playwdominika Mar 31, 2026 +9
It's always better to wait for official forensic reports before jumping to conclusions on social media
9
Imp0ssibleBagel Mar 31, 2026 +5
The official forensic report is out. It's inconclusive because of damage to the bullet. That's all we get.
5
r4inbowgravity Mar 31, 2026 +3
Shared a post? This claim is being made by the defense.
3
VegitoFusion Mar 31, 2026 +3
The report don’t say they were definitive non-matches. The report said that they couldn’t confirm if it belonged to the same rifle or not. It’s an important detail.
3
LexKY_guy Mar 31, 2026 +3
In other news Erika is having a fire sale on rifles.

Ugh, here we go again with this f****** person. Recently she worked out that Trump is a liar and a cheat. Good job Margie, better late than never. But she's still a deranged individual who is unfit for office.

DistractedPhoenix Mar 31, 2026 +6
The fact we haven’t heard a damn thing about the shooter, or Trump’s attempt is very telling. We know everything about Luigi though…
6
BloatedBanana9 Mar 31, 2026 +4
What do you mean we haven’t heard a damn thing about the shooter? In both of the shootings you’re referring to, the shooters’ backgrounds were reported on.
4
DistractedPhoenix Mar 31, 2026 +1
lol no. You heard misinformation and then silence.

Honestly who cares, the important thing is that he is gone
5
melon-party Mar 31, 2026 +5
Weird. All I know is that Charlie Kirk losing the gun debate live on national television was the funniest thing all October.
5
Great_Zeddicus Mar 31, 2026 +2
Wtf. Can someone with some kind of real knowledge help me out here. Why on earth would the defense release this before court? Why is this allowed to be blasted before being challenged in court buy the opposing party? Is the goal to simply get everyone off of the jury duty because now everyone has a bias. Answered:
2
Moccus Mar 31, 2026 +8
The defense didn't really release anything. They filed a motion in court requesting to delay the trial so they could have more time to review the bullet analysis. Court filings like that are often public records, so anybody (including the media) can read it.

Who planted the bomb on 1/6, Marjorie Taylor Greene?
2
OnionPastor Mar 31, 2026 +2
Forensic ballistic analysis is bullshit anyway. Marland’s SCOTUS doesn’t accept it as evidence and neither should anyone. It’s extremely flawed at best.
2
irvingstark Mar 31, 2026 +2
Erika own any guns we could check? Just for fun?
2
HiImDIZZ Mar 31, 2026 +2
I'd love it if MAGAts started accusing each other of conspiracies.
2
KittySharkWithAHat Mar 31, 2026 +2
Back to old conspiracy theory ways, eh? Gee, what a shock. And I've had to put up with people saying 'she changed her tune' ever since she did that interview on The View.
2
its0matt Mar 31, 2026 +2
MTG knows this is misleading. She knows it was damaged just like a lot of high power rounds are. She is casting doubt to get clicks and push her false narratives.

D_2_da_Zeee Mar 31, 2026 +2
If the bullet doesn’t fit, You must acquit?

"Let them fight."
2

Typically, if it has CK in the title, I skip right by, but is the shooter claiming he's innocent? I that he was proud of what he did.

I always thought I was a cynic, but I really want to believe that she went into Congress as a True Believer, but the more she saw how the sausage was made, the more she soured on Washington in general. I know this sudden change of heart kicked off when Trump jilted her, but still. She's the alien to my Fox Mulder.

Do trump's alleged bullet next, please.

Just when I think she might have been getting things in order she goes all space laser on us.
7
Carcosa_The_Knife Mar 31, 2026 +24
Your mistake was thinking she was gettimg her shit in order. Her views are never going to change, she just had a disagreement with her party over one thing. She basically said that during her interview with The View at the start of this little PR campaign.
24
Sad_Locksmith_2904 Mar 31, 2026 +16
This is not a Jewish space laser situation. Robinson’s legal team is raising this as a defense, apparently they do believe that the bullet casing is not a match for the rifle and will be arguing that in court. I would say it’s not unreasonable to think that Kash Patel’s FBI fudged some stuff to get a quick arrest.
16
arumrunner Mar 31, 2026 +2
Contrails and space lasers, it's a deadly combo.
2
Xyldarrand Mar 31, 2026 +2
In this case I don't mind. Let her stir up more shit that helps the right eat itself. Also it is suspicious as f***. There's a lot that needs to be explained with the supposed story.
2
LeftToaster Apr 1, 2026 +3
We all know he was killed by Jewish Space Lasers. No seriously - "could not be matched" and "did not match" have different meanings w.r.t. forensics.
3

Start with the grassy knoll.

We inch closer and closer to the “JFK’s head just kind of did that” of this generation
2
Pathetian Mar 31, 2026 +2
The nutjobs on both sides are both invested in making this a big conspiracy rather than the simplicity it it.  A guy got a gun and shot another guy.  It's America.  It happens like 20,000 times a year.

I’m skeptical about these claims. Sometimes the facts get twisted in politics like this.

This is definitely a case of “headline is catchy but reality is boring”. It’s been explained in other comments why this is the case, but the dude admitted to it and turned himself in. There’s no larger story here. We’ve got it all.
