She's going to try to position herself as 'sane MAGA' for the 2028 presidential primary. This about-face should make it clear to everyone that the GOP MAGA-loyal are playing a character and will turn on a dime if they sense a change in political winds. It takes a special kind of evil to continue this game in light of everything Trump has done.

Agree. She’s positioning for post Trump death politics. She can see that the coalition will only survive as long as Trump does. Then it will be the wars of the Diadochi, like when the much more capable Alexander died. (Political fighting imo, tho they never cease to surprise me)

They love to give air-time to MAGA turncoats: John Bolton, Liz Cheney, Michael Cohen, Mark Esper, Alyssa Griffin, Scaramucci, Chris Christie, Stephanie Grisham, Ty Cobb, Sarah Matthews... That's the danger of a president who picks 'the best people' from central casting: they will all make TV-pundit careers off turning on him.

And you know what? I say, we can welcome people out of the cult of Trump. We don’t necessarily had to trust them to hold power over anyone, but if she is willing to wake up, let’s not try to encourage her to turn off her alarm.
