It won’t change anything. There’s no precedent to block it after every other major studio consolidation was approved.

Well if they actually followed the acts that gave their departments powers and the ability to review mergers, they'd have all the legal precedent they need. It's literally their job to enforce antitrust laws and root out anti competitive behavior. It's a well documented legal mechanism carved out by Congress.

They are not saying you shouldn’t speak up. They are making an observation on established legal precedent. Not everything needs a snarky dunk man. We are better than this.

Facts, this is dogshit wrapped in aids for consumers of entertainment. It would consolidate cable, animation, streaming, studio production, television production, and distribution. While also highlighting political corruption at levels throughout the federal government. Netflix was really bad for consumers this will be a black swan event as far as competition in an industry goes. It won't even help shareholders since the debt is a higher value than the company doing the buying. Paramount is barely solvent with its own properties and debt structure. It's backing of debt with oracle has wiped out 30% of Oracles value.

> Ruffalo, who is among the 2,000-plus Hollywood signatories of an open letter seeking to block the deal, spoke Wednesday via videoconference at a hearing called by Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights. Booker noted that none of his Republican Senate colleagues were in attendance. > “We do not have to watch ‘Citizen Kane’ or read ‘1984’ to understand that the concentrated oligarchic control this merger represents is a threat to free press, an informed populace and democracy itself,” Ruffalo said. > Ruffalo cited claims by Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison that the combined company will release 30 films per year and give artists “more avenues” of work. Ruffalo commented: “Don’t trust empty promises from billionaires driven by greed and corrosive ideology. Don’t trust that somehow this new company will somehow make more films with less money and so much more debt.” > “The merger threatens more than our livelihoods,” Ruffalo said. “It threatens one of the world’s most vital industries.” The pending merger comes “at the worst possible moment” for the industry, the actor and producer said, citing a sharp decline in L.A. entertainment jobs in recent years. “I can personally say that Los Angeles right now is hanging by a thread.”

So for a thousandaire, millionaire is the billionaire  So would it be fair to call mark ruffalo evil?

Fairly easy to become a millionaire without fame or evil, not so for Billionaires. Valve Owner Gabe Newell being in the extreme minority, unless you consider video games evil.

How about 990 millionaire? 10million separates one from being good to evil?

Everyone with more than me is inherently evil. Luckily I earn 2 online persecution points for every 3 dollars of inequality or 1.5 pounds if in England.
