The casting is appropriate because they're both awful people.

Legend? He bet on baseball while an active player/manager and corked his bats while in pursuit of the hits record. I hope a biopic isn't a whitewash.

I met Pete Rose (had lunch with him and a few other people) in Florida in the late 90s. He said, at one point, "Here I am, the greatest hitter who ever lived, and I can't get in the Hall of Fame." I wanted to tell him Ted Williams was the greatest hitter of all time... but I refrained.

Ted Williams didn't use a corked bat.

I look forward to Marky Mark rocking the Pete Rose (Moe Howard) bowl cut.

First cut should get an NC-17 rating. Then tame it down to a red-band R.
