Two professional athletes in a high profile relationship break up shortly after their retirements from their respective sports.
Happens all the time where people retire and have more time to spend with their spouse and realizes they aren’t that much in love with each other

Megan Rapinoe has been retired for 3 years and Sue Bird has been retired for 4 years. That’s like 1/3 of their whole relationship.
Not exactly “shortly after”.

Don't lesbian couples have the highest breakup rate?

If I recall correctly, it was divorce rates, and that included divorces from men in order to start being with women.

Gay men have the lowest divorce rate, no gay men ever get divirce from women in order to start being with men?

Divorce rate yes. Breakup is a little harder to study or define.
I don’t hate lesbians (or gays) and I still feel called out

Theres more than one study.
"This trend is consistent everywhere you look. For example, a study from the Netherlands which tracked married couples over 10 years found that 30 percent of same-sex female couples had divorced versus 18 percent of heterosexual couples and 15 percent of same-sex male couples."

My neighbors are lesbians and some of my best friends. They got me a watch for my birthday!
/s if you don’t get the joke
But really they are lovely and I enjoy spending time with them. I really don’t care who people choose to share a bed with as long as they are cool people

By far. Heterosexual couples around 50% while lesbians above 70%. Gay men are at less than 30% so clearly we need to understand gay men and their relationships more😁

Statistically, the leading cause of divorce across all groups is marriage.

I spoke to several of my lesbian friends. When I mentioned this they laughed and said yeah probably.
As a sidenote one of the women that I asked I first met her at a party years ago where she had a T shirt on that said on the back “If you can read this, the b**** fell off”. Her girlfriend also at the same party had a shirt on that said “I’m the b**** that fell off”. Great people, still together, and they are 100% certain I’m not a bigot.

No, because no one understands a woman like a woman does. So they all live happily ever after.

To be fair, Megan Rapinoe looks like she would be exhausting to live with full time.

Since when are people’s relationships considered entertainment?
I have to agree with the person above. Does anyone really care? People break up all the time.

It’s relevant to entertainment when they do a podcast together which will likely end or change pretty drastically.

The podcast, sure. Their relationship, not at all. If they want to end the podcast, that’s a business decision.
