Does "jk lolz" really cut it here?

Meaning she was mocking how he was seen, also there is no evidence his abuse was common knowledge, and victims have defended her saying people could have been kept in the dark. Please read her statement to Rose McGowan (one of three statements condemning him), and maybe also look into her activism beyond what she did just now, she has been an ambassador for this organization for nearly 2 decades to start.

So all she did was "mock him" publicly once, never spoke out against him otherwise, was ignorant to the thing everyone joked about, but she's still a champion for women. I'm not buying it. Too many excuses, too little actual action.

Jokes don't equate to knowing, people were largely joking about him being a bully/creep but not about actual sexual assault. I reiterate the rest of what I said.

So convenient that they never had to risk their financial standing to be strong advocates for women. You ignore so much to defend these awful people.

People are stupid and addicted to celebrity

You're not even making any sense now, I'm letting you know you can find plenty of actions she's taken over her career to advocate for women. There still isn't evidence his abuse was common knowledge, and Ronan Farrow said he believes she was kept in the dark.

Man the short term memory people have amazes me. It was some speech she made at some awards. She literally calls him god. Look it up.

I mean it was clearly a joke and she likely did not know at the time considering when his actions came out she called him disgraceful. But

“History is shaped not only by those who make it, but by those who ensure it is remembered,” Streep said in a statement, shared first with MS NOW. “The National Women’s History Museum has long been a catalyst for bringing forward the stories that deepen our understanding of who we are. I am proud to continue supporting this essential work so that future generations inherit a history that is both truthful and complete.” Such a nice position to take after tolerating Weinstien, not speaking out against him, remaining silent as countless women were harassed, raped, or had their reputations and careers ruined for refusing him. Hollywood is just awful.
