I’d be out of the public eye for good.

ok-lets-do-this Apr 18, 2026 +176
$325 MM is for the whole company. He’s a minority shareholder.
176
NeoPrimitiveOasis Apr 18, 2026 +29
Even if he's only a 10% shareholder -- and it sounds like he probably has a bigger stake -- that would be $32.5 million.
29
thedude0425 Apr 18, 2026 +5
Yep. Enough to cash out and live comfortably.

KayBeeToys Apr 19, 2026 +6
If I had thirty million bucks, I’d never work another day in my life. But I can’t say the same if that represented three years of income in a job that I loved.
6
Clayp2233 Apr 18, 2026 +16
I’m sure he enjoys acting though
16
Zentrii Apr 17, 2026 +138
I would also like him to be out of the public eye for good too

This is my first time hearing of him. So I’m just gonna say he’s a washed up has-been loser hack.

He actually is fairly talented. He’s just been known to be a d*****.

CandidIndication Apr 18, 2026 +19
I’ve always thought Miles Teller was for the directors who wanted Shia LeBeouf but didn’t want to deal with Shia.
19
PlumbTuckered767 Apr 17, 2026 +6
He's been great in everything I've seen him in except the Gorge but that was the script's fault.

Ganjaleezarice69 Apr 17, 2026 +5
Movie was so bad

Why are all the Apple movies so awful (Wolves, etc) and the series are all so great?

Most people in public eye only wanted to be there. Shaq isn’t on tnt five night a week and all over your tv on other channels because he’s hurting for money. The feel of celebrity is what many people crave. It’s easy to play that game like they hate it after it becomes a long standing norm, but they craved it, they fought for that attention, and now it becomes their reality they’ve achieved and the cool thing to do is act like it’s a burden.
5
Emily_Postal Apr 17, 2026 +237
He didn’t make $325 million the company was sold for that amount. Still he probably made millions from the deal.
237
SolidBlackGator Apr 18, 2026 +47
I assume his minority stake was likely 10% so roughly the same as he'd make from 2 movie roles probably
47
Specialist-Neck-7810 Apr 18, 2026 +58
Does he really command 17.5 million a movie? Quick Google search says he made 3.5 million for Top Gun. Not chump change, but also not 17.5 million.
58
boning_my_granny Apr 18, 2026 +5
You assume no debt in the capital structure. He’s be getting 10% of the equity only.
5
[deleted] Apr 18, 2026 +1

1
boning_my_granny Apr 18, 2026 +4
This is just incorrect. A buyer pays the enterprise value for a business, which is net debt plus equity.
4
[deleted] Apr 18, 2026 -1
[deleted]
-1
boning_my_granny Apr 18, 2026 +5
Right but you can’t just buy the equity only. You have to satisfy the debt holders. A buyer pays enterprise value not equity value.
5

boning_my_granny Apr 18, 2026 +2
And? Debt covenants will require repayment of debt with a change of control event. Who has to pay that? The new buyer. That $325M quoted above is the enterprise value, of which equity holders only receive their net of debt portion.
2
SolidBlackGator Apr 18, 2026 +8
I just based my guess on the fact that A-listers made like $20m a movie in the 90s so I assumed a guy like him prolly made close to that today
8
B_Wayne_8833 Apr 18, 2026 +30
Miles is not an A lister, he's definitely more of a low 7 figures per movie type of actor. Certainly amazing money, but I would be shocked if he's ever been paid close to 10+ million for anything.
30
muzorui Apr 18, 2026 +6
Yea his highest paid role was most likely Top Gun, which he made 3-4 million I believe from it
6
Deeeezy3 Apr 19, 2026 +1
I agree, but he must have an agency have some seriously pull because it feels like he’s very close to being an A-lister. He gets some big roles, I’ve never seen his appeal. Heard he’s an a****** too.
1
nOotherlousyoptions Apr 18, 2026 -3
I want you to acknowledge that prices go up over time.
-3
zeke780 Apr 18, 2026 +5
10% but what multipliers, payouts, etc are there. If they took a lot of early funding then his 10% isn't 10% of the total.
5
ItsAComedyShow Apr 17, 2026 +222
Crazy! And literally never heard of this brand, either.

Stingray88 Apr 17, 2026 +23
I went to a 10th anniversary showing of Whiplash with a live 18 piece jazz band performing all the music, conducted by the composer for the movie. Was pretty incredible. Anyways… they had a table giving away from cans of Long Drink and tshirts. My wife and I really liked it. Never seen it anywhere else though, or at least I haven’t noticed it.

St0n3yM33rkat Apr 17, 2026 +12
It says it was only sold in Finland until Mark Anthony's company acquired it. So it makes sense that the price tag would be that big if it was a company that big.
12
External_Purchase367 Apr 17, 2026 +13
It has been sold in Canada for awhile. He even did some bar pop ups in Toronto
13
DM_Me_Ur_Real_Boobs Apr 18, 2026 +6
It's been in the US for a bit. Since at least 2021? I think?  Source: work in Alcohol industry.
6
aelysium Apr 18, 2026 +1
It’s been in Cleveland since then IIRC - Source: My local bar has had it since I moved down here.
1
Pherllerp Apr 17, 2026 +3
Finland could be easily sustain a huuuuge alcohol brand on its own. Those young people DRINK.
3
noisy_goose Apr 17, 2026 +1
Mark Anthony acquired it on Monday, it’s been sold on the west coast for a bit.
1
bonestamp Apr 18, 2026 +1
I've been buying it in SoCal for a couple years. It's in all of the grocery stores around me and total wine. They have several flavors and a low sugar version.
1
thenightStrolled Apr 18, 2026 +1
I’ve been drinking it in Nebraska for the better part of two years now..
1
Skiceless Apr 18, 2026 +1
They’ve been in SoCal for at least 3 years. It was owned by a bunch of celebrities/athletes, not just Miles Teller. Rickie Fowler did a launch event at my bar in 2023. Pretty sure Justin Thomas and Dalvin Cook also were owners, they were on the promo materials
1
madscandi Apr 18, 2026 +1
The type of drink was only sold in Finland, not the brand itself. The brand is American. It's just a rip-off of the Finnish Lonkero, which has existed since the 50s.
1
BigDrill66 Apr 18, 2026 +1
It’s in Ohio and Indiana.
1
Ok-Walk-8040 Apr 17, 2026 +5
They are pretty good. Of the canned cocktails, I think Monaco is the best but Long Drink is one of the better ones.
5
DawnSignals Apr 17, 2026 +4
Oh that blue flavor does slap yeah
4
GatorMcqueen Apr 18, 2026 +2
They’re pretty big in my area! I like them, the black one is really strong but good
2
_lippykid Apr 18, 2026 +2
Me either. I bounce between the UK, NYC and Florida, never heard of it
2
Pinksamuraiiiii Apr 17, 2026 +1
It’s a brand of seltzer alcohol that I think was brought out from the same company that does white claw. Or at least that’s what I read. So he cashed out on that.
1
n3rdonthecouch Apr 18, 2026 +1
They’re f****** delicious
1
AquamannMI Apr 17, 2026 +15
Good lord there's so many ads on THR site. I couldn't even finish the article because the page kept bouncing around. Good for Teller though.
15
Mysmokingbarrel Apr 17, 2026 +12
Mind boggling that so many of these companies exist and can hit these types of valuations. Even crazier that Miles Teller out of all people would be able to be a significant or even meaningful part of this. Like he's famous but also, not that famous? Like is Miles Teller really that beloved or significant of an "influencer" or influential figure? I like Whiplash and Top Gun as much as the next person but this bewilders me.
12
Successful-Bat5301 Apr 18, 2026 +9
It's not so much a case of him being influential due to fame and more just the fact that the film work enabled him to have the money to buy into the business, expand it and now cash out. Once you have real money, it's not all that hard to multiply it if you're smart.
9
Person51389 Apr 19, 2026 +1
He's pretty big in Philly.   But he didn't make 325 million.  He prob had around a 10% stake.  Which equals 32.5 mil.  Then you lose almost 50% in taxes.  He prob made around 18 mil, which would be like his best movie role pay...but thats prob like 1 movie for Tom Cruise.  But he does local interviews a lot, whatever he's doing always reported on here, and hes not too "big" to go and meet people at smaller venues which is perfect way to raise brand awareness and get new customers.  Dude hustles.

LemonTrillion Apr 18, 2026 +12
Oh Long Drink is pretty good! Very refreshing.
12
manored78 Apr 17, 2026 +78
Actors are just finding other sources of revenue since the work itself isn’t bringing in what it used to. They’re hocking everything from tequila, vodka, crypto, gambling, and even AI. It seems a lot are investing in it and are placating the public about the future of AI in film. They’re shilling for KSA, doing right wing propaganda, I’m seeing them in Christian movies, geezer teasers, b movies. It’s the Wild West in Hollywood.
78
whodatmarvin Apr 17, 2026 +14
The work itself is still there for all of these people in Hollywood. Once you get to a certain point you have so many things to say yes to but…to your point…why do another bad movie or tv show when you can hop on a podcast 5-6 times a year and take home a similar thing
14
manored78 Apr 17, 2026 +3
I think it’s also that I had the impression that many of these actors actually had the convictions they claim they have, but it seems only a handful actually do. They really do go where the money is.

Retiring after making $325 million? In THIS economy?!
3
Unhappy_Plankton_671 Apr 18, 2026 +6
The company he held a minority stake in sold for 325million. He does not get all 325.
6

How much of that does he get?

He could retire. He's done fine work but nobody is going to cry themselves to sleep waiting on the next mile teller movie

I wish he would retire from acting.

5
aacawe Apr 17, 2026 +2
I’ve heard he can be kind of a prick. Maybe it’s true. Maybe not. I just want to see him as the lead in a Dean Martin movie and I’d be done with him.
2
xamott Apr 18, 2026 +2
This man is the most wooden actor I’ve ever seen. Can we please move on now.
2
Ok-Bar601 Apr 17, 2026 +1
Have to assume he was in for more than 10% if he put in more of his own money. $32.5 million minimum is nothing to be sniffed at, and it sounds like he hustled hard to promote the brand. Good on him for finding something that sparkles and doing the hard yards🫡🍻

Let me see this dude in his element 100%. Give me whiplash but it’s whatever Miles teller wants to do. Let loose dude. Make a movie you want to see. Always wanted to see him give a Brad Pitt level performance.

Pretty sure Turtle from Entourage completed this feat first

Too bad. He's not a good actor.
-5
uniparalum Apr 17, 2026 +3
I’m curious what you watched him in to think that? Recently he was pretty great in Eternity opposite Elizabeth Olsen and I felt that he was good in Top Gun 2 as well. And then of course his performance in Whiplash earlier in his career.
3

That dude has probably never seen his movies and is just regurgitating what he sees online lol

I’m not wealthy but I’ve been in a job that required zero output (thanks acquisition) and I was traveling a lot. Just picking a city, flying out to concerts, bar hopping, living it up. Got boring as shit real quick. Then talking to my friends and constituents hearing about all the advancements they’re making projects they’re working on and I’m just out traveling and partying and getting developmentally left behind. I lasted a year before I had to get back in the fold.
2
Sandberg231984 Apr 18, 2026
Guess i don’t get it, you were trying to retire but you wanted to achieve something some people you know were achieving? Listen for me retirement is the goal. If im retired and you’re killing it and advancing in some company then you’re the one losing.

how the hell is some canned cocktail from Finland that I have never heard of worth that much?
