She pry still thinks that’s true despite only being over 50,000 points for half a week and now it’s back to 46,000 even after the 700 point jump today.
For reference, in November 2024, the DOW was sitting at around 45,000. We’ve essentially had no net market gains over trump’s presidency despite massive inflation which by itself would make $45,000 in nov 2024 ~$47,000 today

This is why no politicians stand against him.
They get the inside info, make the trades before the announcement, and profit.
As long as they toe the line and say the party lines, they keep making money and normal people problems won't affect them as they're making millions on market manipulation.
Rinse and repeat.
That's why they're voting for the war, voting to keep Epstein under wraps, and have zero shame doing so as it's in their best interests.
Wouldn't be surprised if they have a slush fund of taxpayer money to do this with as well.
It's all illegal and theyll all never "stand up" against them because they're richer than they've ever dreamed and will make as much as they can while in office and they don't give a f*** about America or Americans.
They care about themselves and to keep the corruption going
.people need to wake the f*** up and stop being this party or that party
Vote these corrupt fuckers out and get people in there and do what we need and want and our best interests with OUR taxpayer money and if they don't, get them the f*** out.
It's long past time these corrupt assholes are gone

Term limits and they have to put any stock funds into a blind trust for the short time they are in office. If they own a business, they can either divest or relinquish control to a third party. A division of the FBI that only investigates elected officials for corruption that is overseen by a bipartisan committee that rotates on a regular schedule and whose funding is guaranteed by statute. It will never happen, but I can dream.

Lobbying is the least of the problem. universal term limits, mandatory jail time, mandatory fines greater than 100% of whatever the crime earned you, ranked choice voting, simple methods for literally all elected officials to be removed from office by voters. All much more important.
People can lobby all they want, but if they break the rules with a cheeky little million dollar RV they get to sit in jail for 10 years, and judges aren't going to commute that time because if they do they get to be your cellmate.

The entire stock market and futures markets need to be restructured with a foundation of restrictive regulation to ensure that people are investing *in the business* rather than using it as a pump-and-dump, or it needs to be abolished outright along with crypto, or else there will be information passed to outsiders who can then covertly give kickbacks to politicians via crypto.
Remember, crypto is a ponzi scheme with no legitimate necessity other than hiding illicit transactions. (As has been warned to the world by numerous experts.)

You don't build a scam extraction economy led by the embodiment of shameless greed, ego and fear without a bit of inconvenient introspection of how our country and the loudest segments of our population are totally dug in at every lever of power needed to guarantee this slow march.
Trump dies, Dems win a super majority in 2028, the ghost of FDR rises and leads an overhaul of policy are all just a fantasy scenario that magic buttons away our total foundational rot.
We talk about needing a Nuremberg, but the country will collectively clutch Jeff Bezos pearls if it ever took hold in any tangible way.
This country will not stomach national strikes, it will not tolerate targeting the parasite class with violence, it will fight to the bitter end to divide itself and laugh at the suffering of the "other" who are likely standing on the same paper thin floor keeping us all from falling into abject poverty.

For the average American, especially an American that doesn't pay any attention to the news, every day life is basically entirely unchanged compared to Biden's term, apart from higher prices at the store. People are still going to work, still buying coffee, still going to the movies; things need to get WAAAAAAY way worse before the average American even *begins* to start caring.
1
TechnalityPulseMar 24, 2026
+1
While I agree that it still needs to get worse before people start caring, I will say that the price increases DO hurt the average American quite a lot. The bigger problem is that they still won't blame GOP policy, they'll just scapegoat Trump or better yet, somehow a Democrat (that's literally half of their rhetoric now, and basically every election cycle, is the problems are all the Dems).
Our most "vulnerable" people are already voting Republican. It's amazing how many poor people vote Republican every election. My mother runs a 501c3 and you would be absolutely f****** BAFFLED by the amount of poor people who need consistent help that voted for Trump. It's unfortunately very common, and I live in an incredibly blue city. It only gets worse the more rural you go.
We need education to point the people in the *right direction*, not just *a direction*, but guess what one of the things Trump is trying to demolish? Our education system.
1
IrrelevantLeprechaunMar 24, 2026

I'm not discounting that increased prices hurts people. But the actual structures of society are otherwise still mostly untouched. There aren't riots in the streets, nothing is on fire, bars and theatres are still open, people are still just living their lives.
Compare that to the bombed out ruins in the middle east and america looks like a *paradise*.

They had a high risk mortgage division and we were building out their website.
Naturally all the executives wanted their picture on the "about us" page with a bio.
The designer who I sat next to says out loud while mocking up said page "Hrumpf, I guess it's true, fat old white men do run banks". I slid over to his desk and sure enough all fat old white men.
This was just shy of a decade before the mortgage crisis... they were already getting predatory at the bank. TO say that the people running the place were thieves would have also been accurate as well.
Needless to say I moved on... to online advertising... where one of the best products to have in your portfolio was ... mortages.

That's effectively how the entire industry operates at this point. Trading happens so fast you don't have a chance to react and most companies are limited by network ping to get the trades in for certain fluctuations. Thing is they're trained mostly on traditional spikes and dips and market manipulation like this is not sensical. I'm sure most stock trades noticed the spike in trades and also benefit from it, but they have a lot more money to throw around as a gamble than you or I do.

the internet is not quite as fast as people like to think. There's still delay. There was a battlefield 3 video with the devs at one point when they were trying to fix the game nearly from the ground up, They had 2 computers side by side, less than 10 ping to the server. The demonstration was about hitboxes, but it was very evident when they crouched on one PC, there's a very good one-one-thousand before the camera on the other PC saw that crouch.
Now imagine there's hundreds of thousands of computers waiting to act on that crouch. Not everyone is going to hear about it at the same time, and those that get the info first win the most. By the time the information has gotten to the public, private firms living right next to the information has already acted. By the time any of the public is able to act, the most major of the swing has already happened. This is why insiders get the biggest slice

I’ve been learning futures trading, and the markets had been grinding down for a few days. This morning, there was a big green d**** (technical trading term) before the NY session opened. Big green dildos are not typical.

Martha Stewart went to prison for five months for insider trading because her broker advised her to sell some shares on what turned out to be a dump that only saved her about $45k in losses.
But Trump commits insider trading to the tune of nearly a billion dollars by not only exploiting the highest public office in the country, but doing so in a way that led to the deaths of hundreds of civilians and military personnel? Of course, the f*** would anybody care to do anything about it?

I for one am sick of this shit. Is anyone else. When do we seriously gather together and do something. F*** em all. Shits stupid and I have a great job and shit and I feel robbed I can’t imagine how everyone who can’t ahead actually feels it’s. Disgusting to say the least. I hate it. When do we condemn greed? When do we condemn hoarding the wealth of the peoples sweat and tears? When do we condemn the theft they like to call
Taxes? Unjust wars all over all the time. Not just United States not just the Middle East not just Russia. Allllll of us need to throw out these greedy corrupt assholes.
We should have flying cars and universal healthcare. Disease should have fucked off long ago. We should be settling the f****** stars already.
Combine forces work together for everyone. A lesson from the Amish if thy neighbors has no place to live we shall build him a house. Together.

I think what has happened is that Trump amongst all this many scams and grifts has accidentally fallen into a new lucrative scam as he discovers that he can say any bullshit from moment to moment and the stock market reacts. After his Middle East Arab scams and his crypto grifts, he's probably just grifting this new stock market scam for shits and giggles now.

Streets full of fentanyl zombies, dwelling among the trash.
Average Joe struggling to make ends meet, with families living under the threat of homelessness.
Erosion of constitutional and fundamental human rights; repeated murder and assault of US citizens by immigration authorities.
No ethical governance; abandonment of the United Nations.
Voting, democracy, likely compromised.
War crimes mounting up, first the extra judicial killing of non-combatanats in the Carribbean and Pacific. Then the seizure of a foreign head of state. Now, a war of aggression with no clear casus belli.
Allies, sick of the abuse, no longer putting up with your BS. Alternative allies saught, including Lukashenko, Putin and MBS.
History, destroyed. White House demolished, monuments desecrated.
Alleged paedophilia by the ruling class, going back decades.
Meanwhile, fat cats in Washington are playing the markets and rinsing the American taxpayer of funds which could ultimately alleviate poverty and elevate living standards for every single member of the nation.
All this and so much more.
Will the US ever wake up from this nightmare? Nobody is coming to save you.

It isn't just a one-off, random, "whisper" once situation. There is a consolidated, organized network of billionaire criminals who have been doing this for a long time. This is what they do. This is who they are. This is how they have operated their entire lives. Epsteinians are life-long, sadistic, megalomaniacal satanist financiers who will kill, steal, r***, lie and murder like the rest of us snack, watch TV, browse the internet & brush our teeth.
And they will keep doing it. Every single week. And you will do nothing about it. No one will stop it. No one will do anything. It will go on and on. Forever more.

I cashed out all of my US stocks in December of last year. I’ve missed some of the spikes in the intervening months, but at least I will be shielded when someone in the finance world finally flinches and calls the bluff that is the current US stock market.
I encourage others to explore similar options. There are tons of ex-US ETF options out there.
When it all does come crashing down it’s going to make 2008 look like a walk in the park.
