The Shows Miranda and Girls both took 5 years to make:
Miranda Hart (Miranda) / Lena Dunham (Girls)
20 Episodes (UK Pace) / 62 Episodes (US Pace)
Roles: Star + Writing / Star+ Directing + Showrunning + Writing
And the stars both then had 10 years of illness:
Result A decade lost to lymes and fatigue / A "lost decade" of surgeries and rehab.
Miranda's physical comedy was just next level compared to Girls tbh. The timing she had with those awkward moments was perfect - you could feel the secondhand embarrassment through the screen
Also wild how both shows basically consumed their creators for decade after. Makes you wonder if that kind of intense creative output just burns people out completely

Except that Miranda Hart is vastly more talented than Dunham.

Dunham was 24 when she made girls, a staggering achievement.

100 bucks says you've never ever seen Girls. it's one of the best shows of the past decades.

Please donate that $100 to a charity of your choice and just send proof, as I’ve seen the first two seasons of Girls and then quit due to how unappealing it got. I was even posting on the weekly episodes threads in the show’s sub at the beginning, including when it received its initial flack for not being diverse enough to represent NY etc.
In terms of Girls being the “one of the best shows of the past decade”, lol. Each to their own of course, but objectively, it’s not; hence why it is rarely featured on the top of best television show lists for this time period.
