For most people the idea of waking up to find out you’d been promoted at work without doing anything would be a dream. His inbox though….

IRGC must have developed some techniques to communicate with the supreme leader in Qoma. This is the reason they're attributing a lot of statements to him.
64
IranianLawyer Apr 7, 2026 +27
They’ve only attributed one statement to him. They’re barely even trying to pretend he’s alive and conscious.
27
Big_Joosh Apr 7, 2026 +2
They circulated an imagine of him at a control center with Israeli power plant pictures on a screen lmao They 100% have been trying to push the narrative that he is fine and in charge
2
IranianLawyer Apr 8, 2026 +1
An “imagine” of him? That’s actually a good way to describe that video.
1
doyletyree Apr 7, 2026 +6
Real question: You’re the first person I’ve heard say that the elder would not have wanted his son to do this. What gives? I don’t disbelief you at all, I just haven’t come across this information prior.
6
StingaFTW Apr 7, 2026 +22
Originally part of the reasoning to remove the Shah of Iran in 1979 is that it was a hereditary office. Naming the son the heir of the father is rather counter to that, and the old guy didn't really want this. I rather suspect that the IRGC have been effectively running Iran for some time now and don't really give a damn about the Ayatollah. This makes the current one being in a coma a bit of a bonus, too. That's just my read on it though.
22
doyletyree Apr 7, 2026 +3
All of that makes sense; it’s an odd feeling to have a sense of agreement with the ayatollah (former), but it is a good ethic. Thank you for the explanation.
3
SeaworthinessSome454 Apr 7, 2026 +18
He was also in power for about 40 years so the “no kings” thing is really just so that his son didn’t kill him and take power, not that he didn’t want to be a king himself
18
UseBackground2370 Apr 7, 2026 +1
Also mojtaba is a faaaar more hardliner than his father and he has direct ties with the IRGC, as in, he literally controlled them at one point.
1
SeaworthinessSome454 Apr 7, 2026 +2
Yeah. That was the common rumor going around a month or so ago. Good thing we’ve never heard from the son. Definitely either dead or in a coma at this point

Absolutely. They are thrilled they didnt even have to assassinate the leader! Just pump out dumbass lego videos and fools fall in love with a murderous regime. That said the IRGC, Trump, and netanyahu are all vile and the world would better without them
21
RetardedTiger Apr 7, 2026 -40
Agreed. It’s a shame that the “left”, at least on social media, are the ones who are the loudest with showing support for the murderous regime, propaganda/bots or not. Disgusting behavior nonetheless. These people have no mind of their own and base all their opinions on the exact opposite of what the US president says or does irregardless of logic. Unfortunate times we’re living in.
-40
Independent_Wish_862 Apr 7, 2026 +9
Those are foreign malign influence trolls trying to make that happen for divisive purposes. The real left hates all the fascist dictators. The only ones buying that narrative are those on the right who are mentally pre-conditioned to see the left as in constant diametric opposition, even when that position is obsurd.

It's wild that they revealed his location
41
Interstellar_Sailor Apr 7, 2026 +26
Killing him could make things worse. Right now he’s unable to rule so there are people behind the scenes who have to make decisions instead. I assume there will be a lot of politics, backstabbing, game of thrones struggle for power. But as long as Khamenei is still the supreme leader, there’s uncertainty…what if he wakes up? Kill him and one of the factions gets to install their own supreme leader, who’s very much alert and now in full control.
26
RyanHasWaffleNipples Apr 7, 2026 +22
Couldn't they have done that from the start? Why pick the half dead guy who's father and previous Supreme leader, didn't even want to be his successor?
22
Twiggyhiggle Apr 7, 2026 +14
I don’t think the Supreme Leader has any power at the moment. It feels like the IRGC is running the show or the council wanted a puppet Leader, and nothing is better than a person in a coma.
14
Johannes_P Apr 7, 2026 +7
At least, a comatose Supreme LEader can't act by himself.
7
hcornea Apr 7, 2026 +2

To be fair: Communication by the US would be clearly more serious and reliable when the leader would be in Qoma
61

Make no mistake since the beginning of the war the IRGC runs Iran. The days of the ayatollah’s are almost certainly gone, but this new reality isn’t at all better.

7
Johannes_P Apr 7, 2026 +2
I doubt that the regime would reveal, publicly or otherwise, where's their leader when waging war to two factions in love with targeted assassinations.
2
IntelArtiGen Apr 7, 2026 +5
If he's unconscious he's probably not an interesting target (not to mention the legality of it, because I don't think anyone cares about that anymore in this war).
5
Aethericseraphim Apr 7, 2026 +3
I agree that it probably better to leave him in a coma, because an incapacitated leader with underlings squabbling for power is much more beneficial to rivals than a new official leader who can whip everyone into place, but Pedophilius and Netenyahu are some of the dumbest MOFOs around...so shooting themselves in the foot again is entirely possible.

11
FaultOutside2449 Apr 7, 2026 -6
Tbf audio recording can be traced mind you Mossad is the same agency that did the pager attack. If they pull off that they can definitely trace the audiotape of the Supreme Leader.
-6
IranianLawyer Apr 7, 2026 +4
If it’s recorded on an older device like an audio cassette, how would his location possibly be tracked? We weren’t able to track Bin Laden through an of the many audio and video recordings he put out.
4
IntelArtiGen Apr 7, 2026 -1
Even this info of him being in coma in Qom can be used. If it's true, there are probably only a few places where he could be. Now they would be silly to tell the truth obviously.

About the so called holy city of Qom where this douchebag resides: Prostitution, however, remained — both off the books and on. To this day in Iran, clerics will issue licenses for “temporary marriage,” authorizing assignations that may last for decades, or for as little as an hour. The latter are common even in the backstreets of Qom, the holy city crowded with seminaries and lonely seminarians. By the government’s own account, transactional sex is common across the country. Of the 40% of Iranians who have had their first sexual encounter at age 14, according to the Youth and Sports Ministry, many have likely lost their virginity to a prostitute. The category takes in a wide range in Iran, where according to a 2009 government survey, more sex workers are married than single. A significant portion of prostitutes — 11% — reported that they work with the knowledge of their husbands. It is above all a way of bringing in money, in a country where the economy was dysfunctional before it faced sanctions, and the extraordinarily high rate of opium addiction has long been understood as an expression of despair. In the 2014 cult film, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, the heroine is an Iranian prostitute being stalked by a vampire, addiction for blood an arch stand-in for opium, heroin or crystal meth. The government surveys also indicate prostitutes who before the revolution were in their 30s, today may be half as young. “We are hungry,” says one of the women in The Women’s Quarter, the documentary made by the director Kamran Shirdel. “There is no other way.” [Source](https://time.com/4433884/inside-the-citadel-irans-forgotten-red-light-district/) if you want to read more.

I hope he doesn't wake up. For the future of Iran it is likely best there is no "Khamenei" at all who is leading.
3
uknownix Apr 7, 2026 +2
I knew he was injured... But not so badly that he might die. That'll confuse matters even more for the Iranians. Saying that, Iran and Israel are attacking oil refineries now so things are going to get more spicy.
2
Xenon009 Apr 7, 2026 +8
I know a few people on the ground out there, sentiment amongst iranians seems to be that he's dead, and is being "weekend at bernies'd" - primarily because it stops any more decapitation strikes
8
IranianLawyer Apr 7, 2026 +5
Didn’t save Larijani from getting decapitated struck.
5
Xenon009 Apr 7, 2026 +2
It didn't, but it did mean they can just chuck someone else into the seat, rather than needing a whole council thing, which comes with a degree of paralysis
2
illinformed-will Apr 7, 2026 +4
So the 24, then 48, now became 52 hours deadline ? Gonna add by 30 minutes tranches next ?
4
SaltandLillacs Apr 7, 2026 +11
Where are you seeing any of these extension of the deadline?
11
Aggressive_Lie_4446 Apr 7, 2026 +24
The deadline has not changed given that Iranians are being told to avoid trains and the IRGC is telling its supporters to form human chainlinks around power stations ,essentially human shields.
24
illinformed-will Apr 7, 2026 -4
Mate just type ''trump extend deadline iran'' on Google. Now tell me again the deadlines haven't changed since the beginning of this shitshow. First article to pop up is from BBC, extract : *This places the US president in a delicate position. If there is no agreement, Trump could extend his deadline – for the fourth time in the past three weeks* He started by adding 10 days to it, then by a day or two, now hours...
-4
SaveOurBolts Apr 7, 2026 +7
Just for the record, are you happy or not happy that Iran’s power and transportation infrastructure hasn’t been obliterated yet? I keep seeing people simultaneously complain about Trump threatening those targets, while also mocking the timeline being delayed. You need to pick one line of argument.
7
illinformed-will Apr 7, 2026 -4
That's irrevelant to my comment ? Why you ask that ? I'm just pointing facts. ''for the record'' i'm glad when innocent civilians are not dying and having harsher life conditions for a conflict they don't support
-4
SaveOurBolts Apr 7, 2026 +1
Your string of comments in the thread seem to be focused on the timeline and threat of action. I’ve seen a thousand comments (like yours) promoting the whole ‘taco’ narrative.  If you were genuinely concerned about the civilian infrastructure in Iran and potential loss of life, moving back the time of strikes would be a positive, no? So why does it always seem like a goading of trump to just ‘do it already’ instead of a recognition that it might be a good thing that it hasn’t happened yet?
1
illinformed-will Apr 7, 2026 -10
