The most disturbing thing about this series of events is that Trump thought showing up personally would influence the justices. Of course in his narcissistic mind, that's how it's supposed to work. Everything is transactional. He appointed them with the expectation that they would do his bidding. It's appropriate that he stormed out of the building, but it's also incredibly damning that he showed up in the first place.

He’s being as visibly confrontational as he can. He wants one or more of his frothing-at-the-mouth devotees to do something crazy for him. It’s an exercise in dog-whistle target-communication mixed with stochastic terrorism. He’s telling his hordes of morons what to do, while maintaining some level of plausible deniability. Just like Jan 6. Just ask Mike Pence.

He’s incredibly delusional about his appearance. He really thinks he is those Ai slop photos people make of him, that he is the paragon of health, and his mere presence strikes fear into his enemies. This is what happens to a narcissist with a rapidly deteriorating brain.

gringledoom Apr 2, 2026 +33
He sounded like he was 115 years old in the clips I saw of that "speech" last night.

Eighty years of huffing your own farts can’t be good for someone’s mental wellbeing
11
wack_overflow Apr 2, 2026 +21
He wants it to look like the court is in opposition to his agenda on one small thing that doesn’t really matter, while shoveling through as much garbage behind the scenes as possible

Very Mansonesque. "I didn't tell anyone to kill anyone. That was Tex and Leslie on their own."

Or Jerome Powell. Literally slapped him on the back on live TV.

Also disturbing that I’m surprised it didn’t work with these kooks

JustAnotherHooyah Apr 2, 2026 +17
Today he posted, "Kangaroo Court!!!" The irony is that yesterdays hearing was exactly NOT that. He expected a kangaroo court, in his favor, but actually got justices critically examining the case and applying the law.
17
Contunator Apr 2, 2026 +11
They kept him out of prison. He is president of the United States right now and not in prison thanks to them. And it's not enough.
11
godzillabobber Apr 2, 2026 +9
They really should have paused the proceedings to take an opportunity for all the loyal justices to heap praise on the best-est President evr. How could they just ignore poor little Donny like that.
9
purr_petal_princess Apr 2, 2026 +14
He really thinks life is just one big "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" deal. Seeing that fail in real time was something else.
14
zaxdaman Apr 3, 2026 +1
And there’s a strong likelihood that if you do “scratch his back”, he’ll stab you in yours, just because he feels like it. His “transactions” are almost always one way: his.
1
theFrankSpot Apr 2, 2026 +4
The real problem is that they have pretty consistently done, exactly that: his bidding. So, maybe they won’t this time, but the damage they’ve already done through their partisan, Trump-bootlicking bullshit will echo probably through the end of my life.
4
afriendincanada Apr 2, 2026 +4
He probably didn’t know that there’s no cameras in the courtroom and thought there’d be a bunch of tough guy photos of him glowering in the front row.
4
whatproblems Apr 3, 2026 +1
i bet he thought he could go up and make an argument personally
1
afriendincanada Apr 3, 2026 +1
He’s not admitted to the bar, but he is the defendant I guess, is he allowed to argue pro se? Wouldn’t have been any worse arguing it, that’s for sure.

Like in Godfather II.
1

and then on top of that, he HAD Pam Bondi there. She was there ALSO to intimidate them because he would always claim to direct her to target his enemies.... and then he fired her. She even brought her burn book too!

You forgot “trump, 79,..”
1
Responsible-Eye6788 Apr 2, 2026 +14
It’s the daily beast, don’t take anything posted from them seriously. Odds are, this will be deleted within eight hours like most daily beast posts for being misinformation or misleading.  I hate that people take it as a legitimate news source on Listnook
14
kansei7 Apr 2, 2026 +5
yes, it's shocking that posting articles from this junk web site isn't against the rules. The fox news of the left
5
shewy92 Apr 2, 2026 +1
I honestly don't understand what the title even says. I've blocked The Daily Beast on Old Listnook w/ RES because of all their "Trump, 79" titles but am currently on a different computer rn. I see I'm not missing much
1
Ok_Employer7837 Apr 2, 2026
I have to agree. I was just taken with the sketch.
0
Ok_Employer7837 Apr 2, 2026 +92
[The article makes it clear that this is about a courtroom sketch.](https://archive.is/20260402113125/https://www.thedailybeast.com/moment-humiliated-donald-trump-fled-scotus-birthright-hearing-captured-for-history/) It's all a bit inconsequential, but that sketch _will_ make it into the history books. Also, it makes the moment look way more dignified than it probably was.

This is like the Icarus painting where it's just some splashing legs

TheHomersapien Apr 2, 2026 +30
More garbage from our mainstream click bait media. 1. Orange rapist is not capable of feeling humiliated 2. You're entirely missing the point of him being there: he was there to intimidate because he knows the law is not on his side We could have terrific, nuanced, in-depth articles about #2, and about how the famous "deal maker" is nothing more than a f****** moron who uses other people's money to bully and cajole his way through life. But nope. Instead we get shit that reads like a high schoolers diary.
30
StoneGoldX Apr 2, 2026 +3
You're mixing up humiliation with shame. He can't feel shame. Humiliation at the press dinner is part of what started us on this journey.
3
shewy92 Apr 2, 2026 +1
I wouldn't call The Daily Beast mainstream.
1
Bromodrosis Apr 2, 2026 +38
More garbage click bait from Daily Beast.

so2017 Apr 2, 2026 +10
But it does contain this gem of a sentence: “‘He closed his eyes for brief times during the session, but looked alert and focused throughout his time in the courtroom,’” Fox News said.

Shyface_Killah Apr 2, 2026 +9
Translation: he couldn't stay awake for even that long

Floydthebartender Apr 2, 2026 +11
You know he’s asking Stephen Miller if he can just have them shot. And Miller is probably saying, “not yet.”
11
gahane Apr 2, 2026 +7
And you just know that if Miller was going against a wall he’d be the type to scream, beg and wet himself.

It’s always the one you most expect.

Ovaltineyum Apr 2, 2026 +10
Humiliation needs him to be defeated on this, so I'm not going with humiliated until a ruling is passed down. Gorsuch and Barrett both seemed pretty skeptical, and both have shown that they're not complete toadies, but it ain't over until the Fat Ruling sings. Embarrassing, yes. Pathetic even. But I can't vibe with "humiliated" until we see ruling against Trump on paper.
10
Charletos Apr 2, 2026 +9
>Article: _"as President Trump leaves (far right)."_ Me: "_but which side of the picture is he on??_"
9
FlournoyFlennory Apr 2, 2026 +5
But was he humiliated by the humiliation with his humility humiliated?
5
Galliagamer Apr 2, 2026 +6
I think he left because they didn’t acknowledge his presence at all. He went personally to physically intimidate them, and they ignored him, didn’t invite him to say anything. Trump cannot handle being ignored.
6
BirdDogFunk Apr 2, 2026 +7
This dude is soft as charmin. Sensitive as the day is long. Weak.
7

Soft as charmin and as full of shit as a used wad of charmin.
3
Objective-Daikon-905 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Beta behaviour, can’t act like a man and take a challenge on the chin. Weak and pathetic. No wonder he’s a despot. They usually are weak and with a massive chip on their shoulders.
5
dreamyblondie Apr 2, 2026 +4
The detail about him sitting there with his eyes closed is perfect. Couldn't even be bothered to stay awake for his own constitutional crisis. Then he goes straight to Truth Social to rage post lies about being the only country with birthright citizenship when over 30 countries have it.
4
Little_Buffalo Apr 2, 2026 +4
Man he looks like shit.

Liz Oyer did a short video on this and pointed out how this whole thing is so symbolic of trump. He showed up to make it about himself and seemingly sought to intimidate the proceeding. He sat long enough to hear the DOJ argument-trumps argument- then left before the ACLU presented. He was only interested in making a show of it, and hearing his side. He's never interested in opposing view points, and doesnt want the whole picture. He literally sat through the part he believes, and left before the part he doesnt want to hear about. Its an amazing representation of who he is.

Willful ignorance on display.

Am I missing something here? Isn’t this smooth-brained dufus an American because of the same ‘birthright citizenship’ law?

He made a decision that backfired on him. It's his DEFINING characteristic.

I don’t think Trump can feel humiliation, just betrayed as he expects all to defer to him.

Trump lacks the mental pathways to experience humiliation.

Have to be capable of shame to feel humiliated. Pedo was just angry he couldn't humiliate disobedient SCOTUS judges (thinks he owns them).

BaconISgoodSOGOOD Apr 2, 2026 +1
How much do we want to bet that DJT will call this artist horrible and the WH will want this image stricken from records?
1
LibKan Apr 2, 2026 +1
People say this is the darkest timeline, but think of it this way... Trump makes history by reminding everyone the Supreme Court is packed with his hand picked judges, thus are openly willing to vote in favor for him. Supreme Court rules against the defining policy of hai second term, invalidating his tariffs. 78 year old sun downing manchild throws a fit, to the point that at his following state of the union he stared them down periodically. Decides to break tradition and goes to what the oral arguments for his other landmark second term policy, trying to destroy birthright citizenship. Didn't even last two hours because his own attorney was making it clear, this is unlikely to go his way.
1
Ovaltineyum Apr 2, 2026 +1
I quite enjoy the conservative machine trying to spin that he DIDN'T actually lose on tariffs because they said he could do them another way. He illegally took billions of dollars from people, and SCOTUS said "no". Sure, he could have tried it another way from the beginning...but he didn't. He broke the law. If I drive 65mph on a country road with a 45mph speed limit, then get onto a highway, it doesn't negate that I was speeding. I'm just not speeding NOW.

He’s just so embarrassing. Period!
1
Curds301 Apr 2, 2026 +1
He can't be humiliated without a conscience
1
allenahansen Apr 2, 2026 +1
His fingers are too long, his belly is too taut, his tie too short, his neck vag too tightened, his jowls too inconspicuous, his eyes too bovine, his skin too dewy, his hair too believable. Someone needs to get this sketch artist to a good optometrist, *pronto*. Note: At least they got his neck fat distribution right.
1
FrostyCartographer13 Apr 2, 2026 +1
As if trump has ever felt humiliation in his entire life. He only feels anger at not getting his way.
