And the more bomb-bays you have the more ceasefires you can deliver.

They actually removed the ability of the B-1s to use nuclear weapons to comply with the New START limits. They'd have to refit them with [PALs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permissive_action_link) first.

I live near Fairford and have heard a ridiculous amount of military planes in the sky since this war started.
The most intriguing sounding one always flies over sometime around 3-5am. Haven't seen what it is.

Frome here. We've had minimum 15 sorties this fly over week, plus tankers stationed nearby. Spotters report cruise missile payloads losing at Fairford so if they're all full, that's about 500,000kg munitions this week alone.

Social media/fake news/bots go a LONG way. It was easy to fool the older generation with that. And it was easy to use social media to brain wash the younger generation.
This wasn’t a 1 year long campaign, they have been doing this for a decade. You can bet your ass china was helping them too.
While we certainly are in charge of our own decisions, propaganda works…

Unfortunately my parents fall for this shit. I thought they were clever people, until my dad publicly posted on Facebook he was attending some Tommy Robinson rally in London. Yesterday he sent me a screenshot from Facebook of an account named "Congratulations you won a gift, message me with the word SPACE Elon", thinking Elon Musk saw his post and thought he won something. This isn't the first time he's fallen for these scams, despite explaining it to him in depth to the point he said he understood.
I love my parents, but with old age, they're getting stupider.
My dad supports Trump but ignores all the stupid shit he does, and focuses on things like "But he is going to release information about aliens!".

AssistXMar 27, 2026

sure, but the neighbors around me who voted for Trump, they didn't do it because of propaganda. Like most voters in the US, they simply vote for the party they're registered with. (90% of voters in the US never change the party they initially registered with) Democrats didn't come out to vote last election because of how the party handled Biden backing out and that's why we have Trump again. That and the Democrats allowing Harris to choose a VP that brought zero votes or states to their side. Biden dropping out wasn't Russian interference, Walz being chosen wasn't Russian interference, Progressives being pissed that Bernie got overlooked once again (could be russian) just added to the lack of Democrats showing up to vote. Harris had 40,000 less people than Biden vote in Philadelphia, a city renowned for being Democrat. It's the first time a Democrat got under 80% of the vote in Philly since Clinton won in 96. Between that and Walz being chosen over Shapiro, that's why Pennsylvania flipped to Republican and what's why we have Donald Trump as President.
So like I said, anyone attributing Trump this term to Russia is just flatout wrong. Democrats lost the election and we have ourselves (really the DNC) to blame for it, not Russia.

They have their part. We are on the open internet. China and Russia are on closed internets. It allows them to freely mess with knowledge on the WWW. You'd be amazed how much disinformation is from China, Russia and Pakistan. Remember when Twitter showed user location and all the racist c*** towards India was from Pakistanis pretending to be American?
We are in the age of disinformation, which has only gotten more powerful with AI.

Leases... They are on our territory. On RAF owned land and can f*** off. It's not complicated.
8
btribbleMar 27, 2026

If there are contractual leases, that land is considered part of the US, just like the land under an embassy. If you don't want another country having military bases in your country, don't sign the lease.
You remember when Hong Kong was legally part of the UK? Same thing.
-1
yubnubsterMar 27, 2026

Perhaps you could link a copy of the lease agreement?
Either way.. I dont care. They cannot legally use the planes in those bases without permission by the UK government. Not the same thing at all.
Either way, whatever technicality you are trying to pointlessly drive home, I genuinely don't care.. They can still f*** off.

We are using gbu-72 bunker busting bombs. It’s our newest and second most powerful. They are 5,000 lb deep penetrator munitions that replace an older 5,000 lb model.
Israel has been using 2,000 lb bunker busters for years in Gaza to destroy skyscrapers and apartment buildings and we just gave them something like 27,000 bunker busters of various weights without congressional authority via an emergency authorization.

No problem. The big 30,000 lb Mop, technically called the GBu-57 is only rarely used because there was like 20 of them and we used most of the supply (14) bombing the nuclear bunkers last June. New ones are being made though.
But we and our Allies use smaller sized bunker busters a lot. Also, many weapons like Jdams and tomahawks can be used in a bunker buster role. With the jdam depending on how hard the bomb is.
They penetrate through buildings and then explode on the inside which generates many times more force than simply running into something and exploding externally which doesn’t harm the interior of the building as much.
2
Complex-Source-7224Mar 27, 2026

Oh I was wondering about our strongest bomb and how we haven't used yet this time around. I was going to ask how long would it take to resupply GBu-51 but I'll look it up, to not waste your time.

Stuff like that is classified, but it usually takes quite a bit of time because of how huge they are and because a production line has to be started again after not running continuously for multiple different components.
It’s not a super high production rate or speed though as far as I can tell, since I can’t check out any classified info. This article says they cost 370 million dollars each.

Holy shit they're costly! What you're telling me, tells me, okay then we may not see them used yet because we don't have enough and what it takes to build them is a high bar.

ArrowsOfFateMar 27, 2026

You might see a couple used here and there if they find a really juicy target. But it’s not something we can deploy daily.
You might also see its cousin, the mother of all bombs, which is an airburst round.

People acting shocked the UK is aiding the US. No duh, Iran attacked UK bases, what do you expect.
Same thing happened with the gulf states: they were initially neutral third parties, some even friendly to Iran. UAE for ex was a lifeline to Iran before Iran blew up a UAE high rises and the UAE closed their embassy in Tehran and withdrew their diplomatic mission. And in the initial Epic Fury strikes, the gulf states didn't allow the US use of bases within their territory or overflight permissions. It was all carrier-based aircraft.
Then Iran started blowing up their oil infra, ports, hotels, airports, and civilian population centers. And the gulf states went from neutral and "Don't launch attacks from within our territory" to "Please use our territory and airspace to strike Iran and neutralize this madman."
