Exactly. According to HENGAW’s latest numbers, 86.5% are IRGC members. https://hengaw.net/en/reports-and-statistics-1/2026/04/article-3 Even 1 civilian death is too many but any source that blurs the difference is trying to push a dishonest narrative.

You're exactly right. The entire conflict is unfortunately being reported and framed with a dishonest message. When you read this article it's implied it's civilians, but there's no proof and when you look into it, it's mostly military, not civilians.

For amount of bombing runs Israel & US ran, that’s an extremely low number. Much lower than the terrorism attacks that Iran has sponsored worldwide via itself and its proxies. The Houthis have wiped out a lot of their countrymen.

Iranian regime killed over 30 000 innocent people during 1 weekend of protest 3000 dead Regime goons is a good sacrifice Iranians are happy to make.. at least this Iranian is. I am very saddened by the loss of innocent life... but this regime kills innocent Iranians every damn day

Funniest part: IRGC and Basij were indiscriminately and blindly firing automatically and mowing people down back in January. Mass protests in every city and many smaller villages. Iran official sources claim: ~3,000 dead including security and military officials The war with targeted strikes (you can tell from every video from Vahid on X they are hitting regime apparatus areas) for 40 days. Iran official sources claim: +3,000 “Iranians” dead Absolutely hilarious. Sad part is most people will eat this up as fact

That’s your first problem. Iranians living inside the country don’t even trust their media + logistic reporting numbers . These numbers are designed for individuals who can’t distinguish propaganda against independent reporting. As an Iranian, do not trust anything from “official” sources in Iran. If it makes them look bad, they will downplay it. If it makes the enemy look bad, they will inflate it

In Iran, public trust in state media and state-linked institutions is widely contested, and critics often accuse them of censorship, coercion, and image management. That does not prove the 3,000 figure is false, but it does mean the source has motive to present numbers in the most favorable way for the regime. I mean, look at the death toll of the protesters. We still don't know how many where killed, because for some reason, the regime is super slow with those numbers. But these numbers, the regime can pull out very swiftly. I feel that there is a political motive behind. Again, I'm not saying that there are no 3.000 dead.

While yes i understand the Iranian government is evil, they’re only using these deaths for their own propaganda and their own profit , But Is it too much to just say that these 3000 were killed needlessly in a useless war started by evil and stupid men ? Without comparing these deaths to the deaths of the protesters?

While there was definitely civilians in these numbers, the large majority were military and Basij personnel and government officials and their families. I think I read somewhere that civilian casualties were about 800 of this number. Which is absolutely horrific because it means 800 people died because of these basiji and IRGC members and folks, for being around them in any shape like being neighbors or living near a base or something like that e.g. the school in Minab. The fact that the IRGC is still causing death to Iranians even if they're not the ones pulling the trigger... I don't have an answer, though. They're living among civilians and have their bases among civilians and are using people as human shields and it's not like Israel and US care about protecting Iranians.

Think of how many people are directly connected to those people. Relatives, neighbors, coworkers, there is a network of tens of thousands of people who **directly** know these peoples stories.
