As long as it’s somewhat affordable, it’s all good. Needing a truck for work is making my pockets light, in these times.

And how much of the responsibility will they push onto regular people instead of the massive corporations and billionaire luxuries that actually use most of the fossil fuel and generate most of the resulting pollution?

Do subeditors even exist anymore?

Leaders flying in on private jets to a fossil fuel exit conference that could've been a Teams meeting.

If anything, I think aviation should be maybe the last thing that phases out fossil fuels (if we even get there).
But I do understand your point.

Phase out private jets first. Then most terrestrial/oceanfaring things. Then work on commercial aviation.

Oceanfaring things are the most efficient use of fossil fuels there is. Until we find the motivation to have them fission powered, we're stuck with that. But it's an order of magnitude more efficient than rail which is an order of magnitude more efficient than road which is an order of magnitude more efficient than air.

It's easy to find negatives, but the fact that the meeting is happening is a positive.
There *is* a constructive reason for people to meet face to face on occasion.

What do you expect them to do? File commercial along with their security details and take up an entire plane?

So instead of a centralized location, they are flying into an ultra luxury resort a week early for a 2 day conference. I am sure that all the world's problems will be solved and this isn't a tax payer funded luxury vacation.
