If the Middle East had a loyalty program, the US would’ve hit platinum decades ago.

Ya, one would think you’d have the stamp for a free war by now and wouldn’t need to pay for this one.

Trump and MAGA screamed how they were going to make things affordable again. How they would bring in an era of peace with no new wars! An American golden age!!! Instead: - Mr Noble Peace Prize has started a war without a real plan and is now stuck. - Things are becoming more and more unaffordable the longer into his term we go. - Now, we face increased terrorism threats on our communities and cyberattacks on companies and infrastructure. So much winning! Please, Mr Trump, I can’t take all this winning! We are winning so much my head is spinning. Congrats MAGA. You’re the dumbest people around.

All he had to do was change nothing and prices would be more or less fine. But tariffs and wars are surefire ways to make things more expensive

This is what blows my mind the most. All he had to do was sit on his hands and his base would remember him as a saint

Same thing with covid. He could have sold Trump-branded masks and they‘d have sold like hotcakes, instead he‘s responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths because of covid which I think also was why he lost the election to biden. He really is as dumb as a f****** rock, but because americans think money=smart he was elected again. Clots and prayers 🙌
227
RockBandDood Mar 14, 2026 +116
He didn’t do that with Covid cause the mask wiped off his makeup and that’s why he was anti mask Not making this up, this came out from one of his advisors from his first term Hundreds of thousands died because he didn’t want his makeup smeared
116
PartisanHack Mar 14, 2026 +50
It was over a million dead Americans. And that was just what was reported.
50
missyanntx Mar 14, 2026 +29
The keywords to search are "excess deaths". I was waiting on these numbers because people can lie to their heart's content but dead bodies have a way of telling the truth. Take your pick everyone: [CDC](https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm), [WHO](https://www.who.int/data/stories/the-true-death-toll-of-covid-19-estimating-global-excess-mortality), [JAMA](https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama-health-forum/fullarticle/2834281)

If you don't think MAGA is supporting this, you'd be dead wrong. All of my MAGA co-workers are blaming previous admins for not taking care of the Irianian problem a long time ago and Trump is a hero.

18

Americans are stupid, period! Republicans always mess us the country though wars, high spending, lower taxes on corporations and lower spending on social programs. Then we elect a Democrat to fix it up, only to be fooled by Fox News and then elect a Republican again. Rinse and repeat.
55

6

And then Trump followed that up with "affordability is a Democrat hoax"
7
AbanoMex Mar 14, 2026 +11
And as always, the dems will pay the price, why? Economic instability will start now but will continue for years, by the time there are moves to fix the economy, it will be a time for another president, so the following terms are the ones that will pay the political burden, because people are so bad at remembering beyond 1 or two years.

> You trump voters sure owned the libs this time Everything Liberals forecasted with Trump as President, even the most hyperbolic shit, has come true and then some. Math is math, gravity is gravity... anyone with a few brain cells knew all these policies would not work. I guess every empire sooner or later ends, just comical the US empire ended with a reality TV conman, raspists, a felon who not only attempted a coup, but managed to get elected 2x.

It was sad to hear Obama reflect on this, saying “I don’t think the nation was ready.” We were ready, sir. Select portions of the populace were not, and when they assemble in numbers, this is what you get. Never forget this, folks. Kamala may not have been the ideal candidate, but to all the dems who stayed home with their protest “not voting,” f*** you for being just as culpable as the MAGA voters.

Iran says their goal is $200 per barrel oil. According to multiple sources this is the biggest energy disruption in history. This will cause a recession, maybe even a depression. It's definitely not helping my depression either.

I had a Trump voting marine who served in Afghanistan tell me he's glad we've finally got a president whos ready to finish what Clinton started and every president since then has also tried to do. The irony he couldn't see that Trump is carrying the torch for what has been our foreign policy when it comes to the middle east ALWAYS is what confirmed for me he was a marine. Dude honestly thinks Trump is walking into Iran as a liberator. We're fucked.

Our unchecked malignant narcissist president is surrounded by yes men who are too afraid to speak honestly. Trump has no idea what the reality on the ground is, he thinks he can speak and pound his fists and his money and power will make to work - they always have in the past.
283
lab-gone-wrong Mar 14, 2026 +34
Don't give them that much credit. They are true believers.
34
nith_wct Mar 14, 2026 +17
To some extent, I think you give them too much credit to assume they're all believers. There are a lot of them, I don't doubt that, but even they don't really have a strong consensus on *why* they want the war. I really think a lot of these people don't believe in anything at all. They're impartial to war with Iran more than anything, as long as they stay relevant under Trump.
17
respectfulpanda Mar 14, 2026 +26
What makes you think they would differ in opinion? By labeling them "yes men" and saying "too afraid to speak honestly", you are assuming that there is not solidarity in the decisions they are making now. And if they are in fact doing something that is against any federal laws, that's what Presidential pardons are for.
26
blazelet Mar 14, 2026 +32
This is how dictators operate. It’s important to understand this. Trump fires the people who provide data he doesn’t like, and replaces them with people who will provide data that makes him feel better. Regardless of reality. He did this just a few months ago when’s the bureau of labor statistics put out unfavourable jobs numbers. He did this over and over again with health officials during Covid. It’s widely reported that Putin was unaware of the dismal state of the Russian military during their initial invasion of Ukraine for this very reason - generals being afraid to be honest. Despots punish honesty because they are typically fragile and need a false sense of security. We have a decade of evidence of Trump doing this. He famously has a staffer who follows him around with a portable printer who prints good news and polling stories about him - all to keep him in an imaginary space where he’s the god king and he does everything perfectly. This is important to understand - he’s not acting on accurate information. Even if he was being given accurate information, his malignant narcissism won’t permit him to hear it.

>The Powell Doctrine is a framework for deciding when the United States should use military force, especially when considering something as serious as invading another country. It was articulated by General Colin Powell in the lead‑up to the 1990–91 Gulf War and is rooted in lessons from Vietnam and the Weinberger Doctrine. - Is a vital national security interest threatened? - Do we have a clear and attainable objective? - Have the risks and costs been fully analyzed? - Have all non‑violent options been exhausted? - Is there a plausible exit strategy? - Have the consequences been fully considered? - Is the action supported by the American people? - Do we have broad international support? Hegseth is in charge of the DOD, a failed military officer. He literally couldn't hack it in the military so he left. He either doesn't know about the Powell Doctrine or doesn't care about it's significance. It's incredible how much Republicans have nose dived with Trump, going from thoughtful, smart leaders like Powell to f****** failures like Hegseth.

emaw63 Mar 14, 2026 +29
They actually did give Trump some pushback during his first term (notably when he asked them to deploy on US soil to attack BLM protestors). Jim Mattis resigned because he didn't feel like he could follow Trump's orders when it came to Middle East policy, IIRC He unfortunately seems to have learned from that, though, and done what he can to purge the upper ranks of anybody who would tell him no. Pete Hegseth and Jim Mattis are very different people
29

23
padizzledonk Mar 14, 2026 +14
That comes with real serious consequences, if they do that theyll be thrown in jail and dishonorably discharged Its real easy for us to say they should do x or y when we bear none of the life ruining consequences of those actions
14
shouldbepracticing85 Mar 14, 2026 +12
Better in jail than dead in a war that shouldn’t be happening. Super shitty situation to be in. Does the military still discharge pregnant soldiers? If so we may be in for a mess of babies in December. One of my cousins had signed up for the military for the free college. Then the first Gulf War kicked off. She got knocked up by the first guy she could find to get at least out of deployment. That choice really messed up her life, and her kids’ (two girls) lives because he was an abusive ass and his dad (the kids’ grandad) sexually assaulted the girls from a very young age.

This is turning into the Vietnam war in how uneven it is. The only way for America to achieve its objectives now is by collonising Iran and installing a puppet government. And it's Iran we're talking about. A country which is 3 to 4 times the population and land area of Iraq, 4 times the population than Afghanistan and 3 times the land area, twice the population of Vietnam (EDIT: at the time of the Vietnam war) and 5 times the land area. A country that has geological features which make any kind of land invasion infinitely harder. All Iran has to do is survive long enough until America's will to continue is depleted.
973
Malaix Mar 14, 2026 +609
> All Iran has to do is survive long enough until America's will to continue is depleted. Which isn't long since this is like the most unpopular war at the start we've had. Its less popular than like Vietnam and Afghanistan/Iraq at their lowest points. To start with... And war's don't often get more popular as time goes on. Only less popular.

At least with the Iraq war, if was sold to Congress and because it was after 9/11, most of the American public went along with it. The objective of finding WMDs was clear (although clearly flawed). This current situation is a complete cluster f***. No one knows the objectives or even the reasoning of why it was initiated.

Even more so, so far Iran has done nothing that could be used to enrage the US population and bring them to the side of the war. No 9/11, no anti-communist sentiments. I think that is why the apparent sleepercells (if they actually exist) are not actively attacking on US soil.
31
hexcraft-nikk Mar 14, 2026 +31
I still think the sleeper agent stuff was them planting the seeds for a false flag attack but they backed away when they saw how many people were fully expecting one. False flags border on conspiracy to the average normal person but after Epstein I think people via social media are discovering how things like that really happen. Manufactured consent used to be a concept only known by those who had poli science classes in college but it's pretty well discussed now.
31
SovietPropagandist Mar 14, 2026 +4
We have gotten into multiple wars because of false flags. That's how we acquired the Philippines and Puerto Rico (USS Maine was blown up by the US to generate consent), Vietnam (Gulf of Tonkin incident), tons of other times

when you think about it, just for a moment now, it becomes clear how despite being enemy #1 for decades, despite the sanctions, the geopolitical isolation by the sunni, Iran has actually behaved extremely reasonably over the years: the straight of Hormuz has remained open, the attacks on Israel kept to a minimum, no large scale attacks on US bases in the region, they signed the nuclear agreement with Obama...they have been in power for 40 years!! in an extremely volatile region dominated by enemies...through the US f***-ups in Iraq and Syria and Lybia... despite the US clearly encroaching on their interests in the region....despite the Israelis lashing out at all their proxies...and yet it was Iran that kept the oil flowing despite it all!!! ofc i don't condone the regime, especially its internal policies and also partly its external support for terrorist groups in the region...but all things considered: how much more reasonable could they have been?

obliviousofobvious Mar 14, 2026 +107
The insurgency will be talked about for years to come. Iran has had decades to prepare. They will turn it into a meat grinder. There's a categorical reason that no SANE military mind ever wanted to go into Iran. These chuckle heads are about to prove why.

So we need to study how they did it... I think we need more horses and arrows. Also it will still take like 30 years... better start taking throat-singing lessons.

Mongols didnt put up with insurgency. If you caused issues they killed every man woman and child in the region. But thankfully I dont see that being an option a modern nation could stomach, so insurgency it is

He won’t even do that, he’s the “Walmart” of wars… on the c****, he’ll taco by Tuesday and have more marines killed by ballistic missiles to drum up more patriotic support at home. Sheep’s to the slaughter. What a shame
13

The real "patriotic support" here would be to stand against Trump

>All Iran has to do is survive long enough until America's will to continue is depleted. American Evangelicals are very happy about this war because they believe this signals the beginning of Armageddon, the destruction of reality, and the return of their god who has a special place for them and a final solution ready for the rest of us. And there is a shocking amount of military leadership that is now telling their troops that this is that divine war. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/03/us-israel-iran-war-christian-rhetoric I just wonder how many of their own children must come back in body bags before they start questioning what their religious leaders are telling them.

ARazorbacks Mar 14, 2026 +41
My opinion is the whole point of attacking Iran was to create an “emergency” to justify removing any semblance of democracy in the United States. If that actually is the goal then we’re definitely on track to have a manufactured emergency. The only question is how does the United States handle the real emergency that comes after.

Meh, I think this is already out of control and dipshits doesn't know what to do. He's in full panic mode, or at least would be if he were capable of rational thought. He's learning in real time, very slowly, that he fucked up and noone around him is smart enough to fix it. Of course publicly he will continue to tell us how amazing it's going and how hard we are hitting them. The first week his cult echoed the freedom for Iran bit. That's gone dead silent on the local newspaper FB pages. Around here, that's where the cult idiots live.

Unlucky-Candidate198 Mar 14, 2026 +10
>Removing any semblance of democracy? It’s already been removed for some time. They all *literally* stole the election, with alll kinds of shady things surrounding it. Harris getting no votes in some swing states, elon allegedly having access to the machines according to trump, recently florida was found to have had faux-voting boxes. The list is shockingly long. And of course, above all, you have mr projectionist supreme blaming others for doing it, so you know he at least wants to do it. And before all this? Your oligarchs already removed your democracy and replaced it with an oligarchy. The lot of you just thought it still existed. With all the power corps have, and how much money they have to propagandize the populace, including with things like lobbying and social media now, it’s been gone a long time now. It’s a nation of serfs/peasants/wage slaves to fuel the rich classes, all of which have little actual say in how their country operates as it turns out. Should have listened to your founding fathers more closely, I suppose, but oh well.

And 5k doesn't seem all that significant unless those are just a couple of swift strikes and quick operations. If only those in charge felt like they might suffer consequences for what they are doing; instead they will just spew some bullshit on air and their psychofans will be ready to storm the Capitol again

Funny cos that was the goal post for the con sub. When news of 2000 marines were sent earlier they said: “It’s not a new Vietnam war because Vietnam war started with 4500 initial forces”.
17
franker Mar 14, 2026 +10
Those were just "advisors" that first went to Vietnam. There was no need to think a big war was coming because they were just "advisors."

I would just like to say that even if we waive every objection to this war up to and including the major pain it will cause unrelated parties (civilian in both Iran and the rest of the world). This is still an extremely bad war. US doctrine is to apply overwhelming force to the problem to quickly and decisively destroy the enemies ability to resist. While it can't always have all the forces it wants in place everywhere when it wants them, it can when the US is the party that chooses the start date for a war/operation. The idea that 3 weeks in the US finds out that "hey there aren't enough forces in theater and we need more" means there is a fundamental issue with the planning because they should have waited for more than enough before starting. They should have also had an exit plan but let's hold that for another time.

All trump cares about is money. He will send our troops in sacrificing thousands of lives to secure and steal Iran’s oil. Pretty simple. Venezuela bowed down opening their oil to trump. Venezuela invasion wasn’t about democracy it was all about the oil. Lifting Russian sanctions was all about the oil. Trump doesn’t give a f*** about Ukrainians or any human. USA citizens us Americans the working class mean absolutely nothing to trump. As long as we are good worker bees and ants shut our mouths we are fine.

Don't worry the same people who were cheering on Trump when he was making the no war speaches are making excuses how this is all necesary and justified. Here's a gem i've seen today: >We are at war whether people like it or not, and the military shouldn't hamstring itself and only do whatever is domestically popular.

He looks at his brave men one last time as the landing craft's ramp creaks open, slamming down onto the wet sand. Automatic fire lights up the sky. The man next to him clutches a picture of his firstborn in his fist, a tear welling up in his eye. At the front of the ship, the first soldier dares to take a step towards the endless desert. "For Epstein", he whispers to his officer. "For Epstein", he replies.

They will use soldiers as decoys to find the missile launchers and try to take them out. The newer launchers are mounted in trucks that open up to launch dozens of drones. They have had decades to dig their drone factories deep underground and are already making thousands every month for Russia. The population is not going to overthrow the government and welcome the US with open arms. This could be the war that ends the American Empire. Exactly what Israel fears the most.
