Agreed. Remember that an awful lot of Russian elites will also attend the Victory Day parade. Confetti or some other non-violent stunt will make Putin look hella weak. They'll laugh at him. It will hurt Putin's political standing enormously.
But if those elites are attacked at the parade, will they be mad at Putin, or will they support him to get revenge on Ukraine?
A stunt that embarrasses Putin may be the safer option.

We're years past peaceful safe protest those people have been already been gulaged, like Navalny. Russia is on the ropes, great time to make their ancestors reconsider ever being an aggressor again. Logic hasnt worked on that country, so let them understand the only way they really seem to with a little up and personal exposure. I see your point I just think we're beyond peaceful resolution until Russians delete Putin from existance themselves. I look forward to Russia maybe as a democracy in the future, I just don't know if they have it in them the will of the people has to be there and this could all be over overnight. Its truly sad how we can exist in a world with more than enough for everyone yet we continue to hurt each other so deeply often through indifference to act

In 24 hours russians killed:
- 7 people in Merefa (just outside Kharkiv) yesterday,
- 5 people in Poltava today (double tap targeted and killed firefighters)
- 5 people in Kramatorsk
- 12 people in Zaporizhzhia
- 4 people in Dnipro just now
All of these numbers still may update
But yeah, I’m happy it’s a funny show for privileged westerners.

Most Russians have proven not to care about Putin's expansionist wars unless it affects them directly. We can only hope his crimes affecting Russians directly causes enough change for them to stop invading and slaughtering innocents in neighbouring countries.
If you ask me the best choice is nobody has to die anymore for Putler's warcrimes. The second best choice is that it's not other countries' people who have to do so.
18
wet_lettuce_uaMay 5, 2026
+7
The crimes aren’t committed by putin. They are committed by regular russians. 1% of russian population is already dead, approximately the same amount is currently on the frontlines or getting prepared for it. Unknown huge amount is directly involved in russian war crimes by kidnapping and forcefully transferring ukrainian children, covering russian war crimes and pouring concrete on the mass graves, supporting genocide of ukrainians morally and materially. About 86% of russian population fully supports russian invasion in Ukraine (by independent non-govt polls). And the only thing that russian do care for, and which they want to bravely withstand on meetings is the blocking of Telegram.

Nobody in the West has forgotten that - although we should definitely be doing more to support Ukraine. All I’m saying is that propaganda and perception also matter.
Putin is a mafia boss, and any action that makes him look weak - whether military, economic or purely symbolic - helps to endanger his rule.

Victory day celebrates when russia got backstabbed by their nazi allies and had to quickly switch sides, joining the fight when all the hard work was done and having to scrounge weapons and resources off the Americans. Yes, something really worth celebrating.
Even more ironic is the fact that russia today is basically Nazi Germany.
