From the video I've seen, very, very fast. Apparently he'll survive, somehow.

Where did you find a video, haven't managed to find anything online yet? Be curious to see how the heck it got up there!

He tried stopping when a car turned left in front of him and was up on the front wheel when he hit the hood. The bike did at least a full rotation in the air before hooking the forks on the crossbar of the traffic lights. Guy got thrown about 20-25 feet clear and mostly went forward not up.

From what I saw it looked like he was wearing safety gear so that can only have helped... Still lucky as f*** to be breathing.

He was probably speeding, but as far as I can tell the car he hit would be at fault for turning left across his path.

If he was speeding it will be some form of comparative negligence with each driving sharing some % of fault. Given that the bike ended up on a traffic light he was probably speeding by a lot and its going to fall almost entirely on him

Car made an illegal left and cagers are rushing to blame the rider.

I guess thats why you shouldn't be riding a bike fast enough to launch it onto a traffic light. no time to react.

Completely bikephobic, poor dude wasn't even above 8x the speed limit quite yet and people are all over him smh

Wasn’t illegal. Looked up the intersection and it has a legal left turn. There was another car on opposite side so the driver didn’t have a good view of all lanes. Biker is the idiot here and I hope he makes quick and complete recovery.

Illegal in that they didn't stop to look for oncoming traffic. Car saw car and didn't look past the turn lane in front of them. Watch the video. Young Drivers of Canada taught me in the 90's to pull only as far into the intersection as necessary to see past the oncoming turn lane, not stick your nose halfway into the oncoming lane and cross your fingers, good luck to anyone else.

Saw the video, motorcycle was hauling ass.
Unfortunately for them serious injury and death are a natural byproduct of playing bikey sonic.

Have you seen a comparative shot of a SUV or truck from the 90's to now?!

He was speeding in a road that's ALWAYS busy and has high bus traffic, it's also a 60km/h road.

I'm impressed by how sturdy that pole is to just have a motorcycle hanging off of it

That's the cleanest bike I've ever seen hanging from a stoplight.

I'm sure he was going at an extremely reasonable speed for the bike to end up like this...and in an urban area no less.
If he survives, I hope he gets banned from driving. Some people are just a danger to everyone else.

Damn. The first time I saw this headline, my mind threw in "stunt" in place of "crash". It made more sense that way.

Unfortunately the statute very specifically references “on the public street”, which this bike is clearly not.
A loophole, if I’ve ever seen one!
