The Constitution has been raped. We need to have a tribunal to restore people faith in the system.

I have been a fan of bernie for decades and was introduced to democratic socialism my freshman year in college by a very sneaky professor who snuck it to teach us I think about geography or something. I used to link to his website for 20 years because it explains every system in the US and offers a creative solution along with a price tag to fix this country. It was one of the most fascinating classes I ever had but the guy was also a huge a****** and literally mocked the girl next to me for wearing a yellow top and called her a bumblebee. I for sure agree about a total change. Its out only hope. So many people I know are so disillunioned with the party and its not hard to see why. I never thought any dem would be a full blown traitor helping trump and yet here we are. There needs to be prison for all these fucks and stop pretending its "just a politician voting" no f*** that. These guys are a bunch of criminals using their power for their personal gain.

Yes, the GOP needs to be outlawed as a domestic extremist group, and the Democrats need to split into conservative and progressive. Exactly and thank you for saying that. This is beyond normal. We are on the verge of ww3 and schumer and other leaders see completely destroying this country as a means to win the next election. Elect another biden and the country is over. We need a ruthless new leader who actively campaigns on fixing this country. I hate maga but at the heart of matters is they know this country is broke.

Biden's DOJ appointed Jack Smith to prosecute Trump for all of his crimes. We would never be in this mess right now if all the voters who couldn't bother to vote in 2024 had actually done their one job and voted to make sure Trump actually was held accountable for his crimes. Jack Smith had everything ready to go to put Trump in prison had Trump lost the election.

We had a taste of this for four years then a four year reprieve that I was honestly shocked we were afforded to try to shore up some of the nonsense that Trump demonstrated desperately needed written laws and not just suggested standards and norms. We did absolutely nothing about any of it. I hope if we get another chance we've seen enough to actually do something, but I'm not convinced we will. They'll try to do it by the rules and the right will manage to block every meaningful effort with just one person refusing to budge.

We could end all of this if people who posted about these sentiments actually got involved in fighting for justice.
Not one-off protests, not every few months or posting thoughts online. But sustained involvement, going to the meetings or even skipping them but giving input and helping where you can.
It doesn't require dedicating in your life. Doesn't require specialized education or experience.
People have all these assumptions for why they can't be involved. It's A huge part why we're in the situation now.
And honestly that's largely on organizers for not clarifying how little it takes to be involved, and then doing more outreach. Hiding organizing information behind paid walls, trainings, not sharing it with the public and accessible video format.
It's also the fault of entertainment companies and media that haven't represented activism and organizing well. The idea of heroes, dedicate for chosen people being required - It's hurt us and unimaginable amount. Everyone's waiting. But it's us. It always has been Collective action by regular people coming together to demand better. Not over ideology, but in shared community. People that are struggling in similar situations. Be it workplace, tenant in an apartment complex, schools, neighbors. Neighbors. Relationships that already exist. That's our final barrier to overcome. Associating based off ideology, people that already agree, instead of working with people that we are in economic relationship with.

This may very well be true, but as a non-American that has never set foot in the US, and has no intention to ever do so… that sentiment seems in line with the way a lot of Americans vote, what their churches and politicians preach, and what their media says.
I would love to believe those are all bots. I must also say that most Americans I have met IRL were not supportive of the rabid anti-Palestinian sentiment that is (seemingly the norm). But for balance, my home town is expensive and not exceptionally touristy which means we get a self-selecting group of Americans. It’s hard to know where the bubble is or where the median falls

Voting 3rd party in the current climate is just throwing away a vote, neither party will look at a loss due to 3rd party votes as a moment for reflection.
Until we can get something other than FPtP voting or build a 3rd party with enough penetration to get in anyway, the only way to effect change is for progressives to run as Democrats and drag the party (and eventually the entire Overton window) to the left.

the first concentration camps were the japanese internment camps in the america in the 40s.
they are designed the \*concentrate\* a population so that disease runs rampant, water becomes contaminated, and lack of food, medical care, and regulation quickly leads to wide-scale, passive, death with deniable culpability for the people who put the prisoners there. It was the camp, it was the disease, it was the prisoners who chose to eat contaminated food and drink tainted water.

[Economists generally agree that the effects of immigration on the U.S. economy are broadly positive. Immigrants, whether high- or low-skilled, **legal or illegal**, are unlikely to replace native-born workers or reduce their wages over the long-term, though they may cause some short-term dislocations in labor markets. Indeed, the experience of the last few decades suggests that immigration may actually have significant long-term benefits for the native-born, pushing them into higher-paying occupations and raising the overall pace of innovation and productivity growth.](https://budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2016/1/27/the-effects-of-immigration-on-the-united-states-economy)

This is the woman everyone attacked for being anti-semitic last year. All because she said she didn't want little kids getting blown up.
American politics are so broken.

If I’m reading this correctly, the lady from YouTube is doing more to try to help people than most of our elected representatives……

Every single one of these ICE agents need to be publicly identified and then fired at the next administrations whim. And if the war is going on still covered to soldiers. Let them fight the front lines. Get rid of those scum bags somehow.

I cannot understand how ANY human/prison guard/whatever could possibly watch a kid like this suffer, and not do SOMETHING. How full of hate these people must be, to try and purposefully hurt children.

For all the shit people give France for being... well... France. They sure as shit know how to squash shit like this before it ever happened.
Protect children and animals above all else.

I think a lot about this James Baldwin quote these days:
"The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality."
We are the adults in the room. Those kids are our collective responsibility. When Ms. Rachel recognizes that the care for children is absolutely political, I think about what it would be like if we shifted our civilization's priorities towards the well-being and thriving of children. That would be a much better world.

I can no longer be friends with people who are supporting all this. And they are out there. He said he would go after the worst of the worst, criminals. How are all these people and children criminals?

The more I hear about this woman, the more I realize how low the bar is. Literally just having the most basic fundamental human decency is enough to be called a saint.
She does seem like a great person but holy f*** man, wanting to protect children from being murdered or imprisoned should be the bare minimum to be allowed to be a part of society

Modern day Mr. Rogers. If Ms Rachel is against you, you know you fucked up.
People who always say ‘but what about the kids’ should be listening to Ms Rachel right now.

Feels like an oxymoron if they are shrugging away atrocities. Not much goodness to them.

With conservatives, the cruelty is the point.
They have a singular mindset. If they can’t molest, then they can torture.

This administration is despicable. MAGA should be ostracized from every part of this country. Every reasonable human being should turn their backs on them. Forever. Kick them out of your lives, ghost them, keep your kids away from them. Every one of them should feel shame for the rest of their lives. It's disgusting. This country is infested with vile and disgusting people.

This is the world MAGA helped create. And there are f****** sociopaths all over the country either celebrating it or downplaying all that has occurred as if ANY of this boils down to a mere difference in opinion.
I am genuinely incapable of looking at the U.S. the same way I foolishly have in the past.
