Every Trump voter and person who abstained because of "both sides" reasoning wanted this. They're all culpable and deserve to feel horrible about themselves. Like if they want to play dumb about wars, gas prices and grocery prices? Fine. They can admit they're naive gullible idiots. But as far as his detention camps go, Trump ran on these. Everyone who put this man in charge wanted little kids to starve and suffer.

“When this is all over” Question is, when? When will it be over? The fact that this is currently going on with no end in sight is already sickening enough. Each day more and more people are getting traumatized, kids included.

We could end all of this if people who posted about these sentiments actually got involved in fighting for justice. Not one-off protests, not every few months or posting thoughts online. But sustained involvement, going to the meetings or even skipping them but giving input and helping where you can. It doesn't require dedicating in your life. Doesn't require specialized education or experience. People have all these assumptions for why they can't be involved. It's A huge part why we're in the situation now. And honestly that's largely on organizers for not clarifying how little it takes to be involved, and then doing more outreach. Hiding organizing information behind paid walls, trainings, not sharing it with the public and accessible video format. It's also the fault of entertainment companies and media that haven't represented activism and organizing well. The idea of heroes, dedicate for chosen people being required - It's hurt us and unimaginable amount. Everyone's waiting. But it's us. It always has been Collective action by regular people coming together to demand better. Not over ideology, but in shared community. People that are struggling in similar situations. Be it workplace, tenant in an apartment complex, schools, neighbors. Neighbors. Relationships that already exist. That's our final barrier to overcome. Associating based off ideology, people that already agree, instead of working with people that we are in economic relationship with. Likely smarter than many of the people in congress and certainly the people in Trump's cabinet, Trump included (but that's a given).

Honestly regardless of language Im always happy to applaud the achievements and interests of children (or really anybody). Kid obviously had some kind of passion and interest and desire to do develop and a talent and encouraging that should transcend cultural barriers. Kids are kids are kids.

I used to be in spelling bees for years. When I was in middle school it was me the white kid who was nervous and a kid whose parents were from india. He could not remember how to spell cloud and I forgot how I lost but I was just so nervous. Poor kid.

Ms. Rachel preached compassion is what she did, she was a brave American Educator. In this house, Ms Rachel is a hero, end of discussion.

Voting 3rd party in the current climate is just throwing away a vote, neither party will look at a loss due to 3rd party votes as a moment for reflection. Until we can get something other than FPtP voting or build a 3rd party with enough penetration to get in anyway, the only way to effect change is for progressives to run as Democrats and drag the party (and eventually the entire Overton window) to the left.

Yes, AOC called these centers concentration camps, and Republicans pounced on her for saying it, saying that this was “demeaning to holocaust survivors” and saying she was stupid because the US wasn’t executing people in the camps, even though the term concentration camp predated the Holocaust and not every concentration camp is a death camp.
