Thank you!! And yes, in multiple waves. At basically every “sensitive” installation in the US. All of them. Incidents at sea w the US Navy being swarmed by “drones”. Pantex, which houses nukes. The 2014 “drone” flap in CO/NE that lasted a month and has zero answers. New Jersey recently. Every military base in England, just randomly as we were transferring nukes last yr. Sweden/Norway/Lithuania/Germany a few wks ago. Funny to see us using the C-RAM in Iran for shahed drones, year we’ve never taken down any of these other “drones”.

Maybe they’re just incredibly slow drones that appear every night during the winter months in nearly the same spot at the same time. It’s a good reconnaissance strategy. Maybe they’re part of the Iranian mothership that NJ congressman Jeff Van Drew said was launching the drones.

It's super easy to link this to the Iran war. But there have been multiple cases of similar incidents way before this war started. So why not connection to those instead?
We don't know, so let's not assume attribution. Let's say it's something the Trump administration doesn't want us to know about. Everyone assumes it's Iran, media feels little public pressure to investigate further, the administration covers up the truth without having to say anything beyond, "we are looking into it".
All because people refuse to consider the possibility that things in life can happen beyond surface level.
> The analysts said “with high confidence” they expected unauthorized drones to continue to operate in and around Barksdale Air Force Base in the immediate future.
This comment alone make it very curious as to how/why it could be Iran

This could be f****** anything. Drones are so much easier and cheaper to build than planes. This could be classified testing of a drone developed by the CIA or DHS all by themselves, some random organization testing out military responses or anything else. Depending on what the “drones” are it could literally just be a guy, I have enough money to afford 10-20 advanced quadcopters and send them to a military base to f*** around if I really wanted to. Most likely these are larger more advanced drones because it said the event lasted 4 hours, and quads don’t stay in the air that long. But if they were larger drones they would probably be positively identified for example “several BZK-005 aircraft” or “unidentified Shahed-style drones” or whatever else.

Americans are so open to the idea of war because we only see it from 7pm-8pm on the evening news. Nobody has had to walk through war torn streets to just get food.
And with advancements in technology, this is going to happen. It's not a matter of if, but when.
The reaction from 9/11 alone should show you how absolutely coddled we are, when I'm watching videos of people in the middle east having dinner while neighborhoods around them are on fire.

And that's the only way it will can change. The only reasons countries sign things like the Geneva Convention is to protect THEIR OWN troops and their own people.
The United States has denied geneva rights to "enemy combatants" because it always assumed it would have absolute supremacy in its violence.
But like Israel has no right to complain when Iran uses cluster munitions because Israel also uses cluster munitions and both have refused to sign a ban on cluster munitions, Americans can't complain when US soldiers are being tortured because we are a torturing nation.
If you care about war crimes, the very best thing you can do to prevent them is to do everything you can to punish your country's own war criminals.
49
Forward-Surprise1192Mar 20, 2026

They think we’re safe because of the big ass ocean on both sides but that’s only protecting from an invasion. Reality is small attacks can work much better and probably the only reason it hasn’t happened is because that would escalate things to having soldiers in Iran itself. As it is now what Iran is doing is enough to hurt American people without reaching out so far

I’ve been saying this for a while now, we have never had a modern war in our nation. The last time we had a war here in the United States, and on our soil, we were digging trenches and charging at each other in a line, and that was 160 years ago. We haven’t had to rebuild entire cities after years of bombing runs, we haven’t had to hide in underground bunkers while troops battle above us, we have literally zero understanding of the atrocities of war beyond pictures and video played to us while we watch the news. Even then we get a heavily censored version while we praise our own troops for their bravery. War will hit American soil, and when it does anyone who is for it will have the rudest awakening. War is hell, and your average American has no idea what hell is like.

The vast majority of places that host legitimate military targets in your country are rural locations. Some are in high population zones but most are not. Military bases and installations tend to be far away from the big city centers. So those who want to stop military action will start with those. Civilian structures that are effected are power structures and cell phone towers and airports/shipping. Again since you want to stop military response you would hit those places first.
Rural areas would be the main targets. They would also want to hit government targets as well so government buildings would also be legitimate targets. It wouldn't just hit "blue" cities, in fact the vast majority of the destruction would be rural zones.

Barksdale AFB is roughly 600 miles from the Mexican border at Matamoros. It could be the cartels, Venezuelans, or Iranians (operating with cartel approval). Drones could fly low over the Gulf and approach from the east over land near Houston. As the home of a strategic bomber wing, it would be a potential military target.
Lackland AFB is closer to the border but is largely used for training.

Would cartels really assist a foreign state/group with launching an actual attack on the US though? Because if they did, then the US really would have a good excuse to just hit them with drone strikes and special forces raids. The cartels are tough, but they like money and power. It's hard to hold onto those things if the US military decides to go after you

Yeah, honestly. We like to pile up very expensive air assets in these bases, and we would be very vulnerable to that.
I hope all those stories of drones near air force bases last year were them doing drills and testing anti drone weapons.

Not to mention the fact that major American military installations around the world are all pretty much public knowledge. Everyone knows where the B-2s and B-52s and RC-135s and other important aircraft are based. You can literally just look it up on Wikipedia.

That’s bad before you consider just incompetent this particular administration is. After 4 years of watching Iranian designed drones hitting Ukraine in the thousands each month, they were unprepared when they declared war on Iran and had hundreds of drones fired at them. As a point of reference for just how braindead the current administration is, they have had to deal with far less drones than Ukraine does on average but have already used roughly 800 patriots since the war with Iran began. Ukraine has only been supplied approximately 600 in four years of fighting Russia.
So the bottom line is that because trump has small man energy and couldn’t accept help from a nation he decided was inferior (after Putin assured him Russia was better no doubt) America has been using 4 million dollar interceptors to try and shoot down 10 thousand dollar drones. If they can’t learn when somebody actively tries to teach them, I wouldn’t expect them to be prepared for something creative like the operation Ukraine pulled off in Russia.

> America has been using 4 million dollar interceptors to try and shoot down 10 thousand dollar drones
Unfortunately this is kinda how our military has always run and why our debt is so ridiculous. From the drone strikes in Afghanistan to carpet-bombing empty jungle in Vietnam, we love spending millions of dollars to inflict thousands of dollars of damage.
I remember seeing this gopro footage of a patrol somewhere in Afghanistan that was ambushed by a "sniper". I put it in quotes because the shooter was landing rounds 10+ yards away from them at the closest. The patrol emptied virtually every round of ammunition they had into this hillside without ever even knowing for sure where the shooter was. I'm talking thousands of rounds of ammo for the SAW, every grenade launcher round they were carrying, and most of the M4 magazines everyone had. The sniper fired at most 6 shots in the entire 15 minute video. In the end the patrol had to pull back because they were low on ammo and couldn't get any air support to help them. I feel like this short video was the perfect summary of how we fight wars, and the reason why we aren't really winning any of them.

Agreed. Obviously this is a generalisation and there are likely a million different things that could be done better, but I feel like the vast military superiority America has held over its enemies for the last 50 years has impaired the military’s judgement when it comes to cost effectiveness.
Compare it to Ukraine who have been forced to constantly innovate and it’s night and day. They now have interceptor drones that have flipped the equation. Now they are using a mix of systems but when it comes to drones they are increasingly able to use thousand dollar drone to shoot down 10 thousand dollar drones.
The frustrating thing is that Ukraine offered to share the tech and experience but we’re arrogantly rebuffed. Imagine if America actually accepted the help offered, or better yet got involved months ago, and actually built up a stockpile of cost effective interceptor drones. Hundreds of millions could have been saved and those missiles could have been saved for threats drones couldn’t intercept, like cruise missiles.
Anyway, that’s enough ranting. Obviously I’m not an expert on any of this but it just feels so frustrating to watch what clearly looks like sheer arrogance from the outside. Ignoring 4 years or readily offered data like that is kind of astounding honestly.

It'd give them the causus belli to go all in on Iran.
Also makes complete sense as to why all counter-terrorism divisions have been gutted, and why Kent was being sidelined and ultimately resigned. Maybe he knew what was up and could not in good conscience proceed.
And remember, the US military now has a clone of the Iranian Shaheed drone in the form of the LUCAS UAV.
This could be setting up America's next Pearl Harbour and give Hegseth the bodies he needs to carry our his insane apocalyptic prophesy.
Then again, Russia or Israel could also easily carry out such an attack just to pull the US even deeper into the conflict, plus Iran has all the justification it needs to strike strategic US targets. Too many parties with overlapping interests which makes a False Flag event soooo much more likely to succeed.

Eventually someone is going to lob a nuke. American politicians have been wanting to drink the blood of Iranians for decades for both geopolitical and religious reasons. The religious motivations were more publicly subdued in the past but now most of the top brass have delusions of bringing about Armageddon. The project of spreading white Christianity was always entwined with the more levelheaded aims of total economic dominance; and now the real crazies have taken over with nobody to be the voice of reason. They’ll do just about anything to make their vision come true up to and including murdering tens of thousands of American citizens.

If Iran had their combat drones, which are 12 feet long by 8 feet wide, in the states, they wouldn't just be flying them over bases
So there are 2 possible options
1) These are just Iranian sympathizers or agents flying commercial drones over US Bases...which to me doesn't make sense because it's not going to create the kind of fear they would want
or
2) This is a false flag so that politicians can go to congress and say "see, we told you we needed the money we said we did"

As the conventional stock piles of weapons, on both sides, in the Middle East began to be depleted, this is likely to look a lot more like gorilla (*Edit: guerrilla*) warfare there.
If they do have “sleeper cells“ and this comes to our shores in any scale, the push to impeach Trump will become enormous. The Iranians have much more experience in this sort of thing than we do.
Take a look at how well Ukraine has done, compared to the so much larger force of the Putin…

Uh, I wouldn't count on that. In all actuality the push will be to take a more serious war footing with Iran, with NATO now involved, and much bigger payloads being delivered into Iran's territory.
It's one thing to send drones and missiles to American bases in the ME - but Iran knows as well as anyone, hitting US Soil is opening the cage to a monster much, much more powerful than anywhere else in the world, who will take off the gloves.
Trump is the worst - but you're living in a fantasy world where you think somehow, something forces the GOP controlled Congress to remove him. If anything, half of the GOP would f****** celebrate they now get to turn Iran into burning wasteland.

I wonder what it means when an Air Force general admits that they are beyond our ability to capture, see on thermal scans, shoot down, or do anything with them at all. Because that is what they are saying. Which is what the whole drone scene in NJ was. Many drones, some the size of cars (or larger) that they could never capture or shoot down.
One would hope our military has the latest equipment to deal with these sorts of threats. Hmm.

China and other countries use huge waves of thousands of drones to replace fireworks during big events. Watching thousands of drones fly in sync and spell out letters or make pictures in the sky makes me believe a few thousand launched from the roof of a building unseen could easily overwhelm any US base or even buildings in DC. Watching Ukraine fly a single drone onto a base and park it on the top of an airplane in a spot easy to damage or expensive to replace and then explode C4 is a $10,000 solution to a multimillion dollar bomber. This keeps me up at night.
