One of my favourite songs (Fools gold by equally opposite) got changed, and since then, the original has disappeared off of the internet. It was SCRUBBED CLEAN from any absolute area. Me and my parter have SKINNED the deepest depths of the universe to find the original but we can’t. Does anyone have access to the OG, or can get access to the OG? If so we’d be thrilled. (I’d also like to hear if anyone relates, and what other songs have disappeared off the face of the earth.)
UPDATE!!!! My partner dmed them, and they said they were going to re post the song soon!! ILL UPDATE TO LYK IF THEY ARE TRUE TO THEIR WORD!
I mean I know at least with Spotify, the GOOD version of "How Soon Is Now' IE the Charmed theme is gone and replaced with some shitty, slow version? Like it's horrible.

Ugh this happened to me with few songs too and it drives me crazy. The worst part is when you try to explain to people how different the original was and they look at you like youre making it up
I wish there was some kind of archive for these things but seems like once labels decide to change something the old version just vanishes into void. Maybe try reaching out to fan communities or music forums, sometimes collectors there have rare versions saved

I know, me and my boyfriend have been looking for this song everywhere. The owners WIPED the internet of the old song, it’s exhausting.

That's not actually the version by Love Spit Love. Even the official soundtrack for Charmed on spotify has their shitty, slow version. The one you linked even is a bit offkey at points, bc they're trying to do an imitation of Love Spit Love's tonal quality.
A cover of it, though. But Spotify DID have the actual proper version and replaced it with..whatever alternative Love Spit Love version that is just..bad.
It's literally been completely overwritten with [https://open.spotify.com/track/2PjSIBTUBIkv7CSpl5cZob?si=c65cdb6dfdc741b9](https://open.spotify.com/track/2PjSIBTUBIkv7CSpl5cZob?si=c65cdb6dfdc741b9) this version. Eugh.

This is genuinely one of the worst internet feelings.
People act like “the internet is forever,” and then one version of a song gets changed and suddenly the whole web develops amnesia. If you haven’t already, I’d check old YouTube uploads, SoundCloud reposts, Bandcamp purchases, and Internet Archive type stuff — weirdly, random fan uploads and old personal backups are where these songs usually survive.

I’ve checked even weird apps from the internet, I couldn’t find it anywhere. THOUGH THANKFULLY! as I put in my edit, my partner dmed the creators and they said they would re post it! It definitely was worth the “they aren’t gonna respond” disappointment while he was messaging them, because they fortunately DID respond!! :))

How would someone that's never heard the song know what the difference is?
So far I found two versions, one being a radio edit.

Well the creators are re posting the og, but the new one sounds distanced and underwater kind of. 😭

Check discogs.
My favourite band redid a song to fit the sound of the next album. The previous version being more representative of their old sound. I contacted them and they told me they released it on a 4-way split EP a year prior to the new version.

This is why buying physical media is a good thing instead of relying on streaming.

Shitty! I hate when I've got one on the tip of my brain. Didn't see your edit.
Good luck!
