"Mystery Science Theater 3000" fan finds and uploads the long lost episode "K03" (Star Force: Fugitive Alien II), after discovering tape in Minneapolis garage sale

Also impressive, that the tape stock not only survived but was still readable and with minimal decay despite being recorded almost 40 years ago.

you can tell watching the video this tape clearly hasn't been watched hardly ever. The quality is astonishingly good.

Anyone have the link to the clip where MST3K had some movie and some guy was turning the pages of a book made of paper and he was like, “Wait this isn’t paper”
And the robot watching and commenting was like “That’s definitely paper.”
That always took me out back in the day.
I can never find it when I want to rewatch.

My favourite Pub runs movies (silent with subtitles) across a projector on the wall on one side. It#s one of the movies that run there once in a while. Though the audio gets turned on for Crows scene when hes singing and digging a hole into the stations floor :D

I went to a bar one time that did this with classic p**********. black and white stuff. It was super late and I was already buzzed pretty good all the lights were off except for the projection on the back wall behind the bar and stage lights moving along with the music. It was so surreal I felt like I was in a movie for a brief moment

I was quoting that scene literally today. "Turn your interocetor dial 18 degrees to the left" "17, one more, oh too far...well that works too"
MST3K the Movie was actually my introduction to it! Probably can quote the entire movie. "Oh no Brak siphoned our GAAAAASSSS"

I absolutely love MST3K, and went to add the movie to my watch list to rewatch it, and I played the trailer and realized I never saw it. Because it has Mike. I was a huge fan of Joel, and didn’t care for Mike (I know a LOT of people do, and that’s fair, but he just didn’t work for me), so after a couple of episodes with him, I just stopped watching. And never saw the movie.

It is absolute insanity that this was finally found. I know that this is going to seem like exaggeration to those who didn't grow up in a certain era and to whom this show doesn't mean as much to, but this is like one of *the* holy grail lost media items ever.

Core memory unlocked. Someone made a windows screen saver of Torgo in early 2000s. He would walk across your screen to the doot doot doot soundtrack and say movie quotes. We installed at work on shared computers. Really surprised and mystified people who did not get the reference.

I’ve been a fan since I was in my early teens. I discovered this by staying up and watching Up All Night. This would come on afterwards and I immediately fell in love with it. This show is a part of me, and I’ve passed this to my 11 yo daughter.
On top of MST3K we were blessed with Rifftrax, along with the Netflix reboot (which I liked), and now Mike is trying to get new MST3K eps funded w/ Bill & Kevin.
This show is infinite!

Some of the movies used in the KTMA show were reused in later seasons. The one on the official channel is from Season 3, with different riffs and host segments.

This is wild. I had no idea this episode was lost. We had a VHS of this when I was a kid and it was my whole family’s absolute favorite episode. Of course our copy is long gone, but I’m happy it’s now online!
