Flight attendant here, not one working her flight though. First let me say I’ve always enjoyed her shows and thought she seemed like an interesting and cool person. But this recent situation is being discussed in one of the larger F/A flight attendant groups I’m in and so many people have jumped in to say that they’ve had her on flights and she’s been rude, inconsiderate and just not very nice. I was so disappointed to read all of that because I just wouldn’t have thought that about her.

Well, that’s part of it right? She lives knowing people see her characters as tough but loving, she just forgets that her being fast talking and snarky isn’t cute, not in the day to day interactions we all have to navigate. She’s probably like any one of her characters without the endearing parts and wanting you to serve her too.

When you’re speaking dialogue from a script it can be written to be snarky and sassy but restrained… hard to nail it and not cross the line when actually winging it…

Yeah it’s unsettling - but always listen to the service workers. If one says so and so was a bit of a d***, ok maybe they had a bad day. But several? Dozens? That’s someone who’s up their own ass and needs to come down to earth.

Look, to succeed as a celebrity, you need a personality disorder. There’s a reason only a few hundred make it to that level. There are THOUSANDS of steadily working actors. People whose yearly take is maybe the same as a physician, and people who lose money paying for flights and hotels on shooting locations. For all these people it’s the love of the craft.
Another overlooked aspect to eschewing stardom is responsibility. The star of a tv show, while not literally, *feels* responsible for the 2/300 employees riding on their performance. Again, it’s a certain type who can take that in stride.
With some exceptions, this is who makes it to the top. They’re usually ruthless, often blank-slate dull (living in characters), driven, fully self-consumed, and when they turn it on 🌟

I’ve never thrown a fit on a plane (or anywhere in public for that matter) but flying has become top tier misery and stress. The last few times I’ve flown it’s been hell. Canceled flights, overbooked flights, TSA for hours, planes getting smaller and more cramped, airlines squeezing every bit of dollar out of you. People tend to lash out when stressed and scared. I know not everyone is afraid of flying, but I’m willing to bet more people are nervous than would readily admit. Then suddenly a baby starts to cry and boom someone’s having a full blown crash out.

Yup! And the whole next day I was just zonked. I kept taking it each night hoping I just needed to get used to it, instead lost most of an entire week of my life before I gave up hahah.
And I’m not someone who has otherwise been particularly sensitive to any medications. I’ve never had this issue with something like Benadryl—tho I realize that’s a whole other type of drug.
I’ve honestly avoided even trying other medications that are used for sleep (I mostly tried trazadone because it’s used for depression off label) because of how much it messed with me.

My neighbor just passed away from his alcoholism. He hid that disease from everyone like a thief for years. Every health issue, every arrest, every problem with his job had a detailed and convincing excuse. Up until his death, we had no idea what was actually happening with the guy, other than he was falling completely apart.
For example, he had confided in folks that he had heart issues and was told he pancreatic cancer. He said that he refused to go in for another appointment or treatment and everyone was terrified that he would be taken by the disease. In reality, the damage to his heart, pancreas, (and his liver) were from a decade of hard alcohol abuse. He was isolated after his divorce with his kids away at school, which contributed to the difficulty in figuring out what was up.
Folks who are alcoholics will straight up manufacture an alternate reality to hide their addiction even from themselves.

Yes, and they don’t get follow up treatment because the doctors can see and want to discuss the alcohol abuse. Because that’s the health biggest problem.

Oh f*** I forgot about that. Also not to cover for her but that tells me she’s been lying a lot to obfuscate too much. But then she lies about things which are important (like legit criticism over starting an AI company and putting words into a dead man’s mouth) and the “I’m just little trickster” no longer works. She’s also been hanging with a weird crowd for at least a year or more and I don’t think anyone there is gonna help her. And her longtime friends unfollowed her on Instagram recently.

Depending on the airport, most large airports security involving situations like these aren’t TSA/DHS…it’s local metro police that respond. For super large Airports like NY, NJ, etc…they’re transit cops, but local. Watch the video of the Lizard lady or any filmed plane freak out at the gate, it’s a local authority not federal. The airport is not generally federal property or jurisdiction beyond security.
2
P0Rt1ng4Duty2 days ago
+1
Yes, but most of the videos we've seen were filmed before ICE was in the airports.
I'm not saying it's what happened, I'm just saying it's harder to rule out today than it was six months ago.
1
Anxious-Condition6302 days ago
+3
If that were direct proof, then the previous videos would show TSA responding and now ICE.
That being said…Airports are not federal jurisdiction outside of TSA checkpoint, or CBP processing. It’s a local police force role or designated Airport Police, like Chicago OHare. Unless it was a specific terror threat or something exclusively federal….they wouldn’t show up.
FWIW, I’m def not arguing for ICE or anything like that, I just have a job working in the defense legal/law side of this situation.
Side note: ICE left all Airports yesterday, at least in most new reports….so I doubt on their last day they thought, “let’s f*** with a known American Actress just to spice up our lives…”

Once you reveal yourself to be not in control of your faculties, you have to get off. The reason ice took her off is bc they were some of the few people working in the airport. I think the “Lunesta” made her hallucinate. I hope she gets better soon, she did so good for a long time.

ICE? No, that would have been the the local police, TSA, or perhaps the DEA. What's she talking about?

That may be so, I was only pointing out that she could have been right. Though probably not for the right reasons.
I don't know the full scope of what ICE is doing at these airports, just that they are there.

Last time I heard about her was when she relapsed so I'm taking her side of events with a huge grain of salt.

Every celebrity sucks eventually. Mr. Rogers is the singular exception that proves the rule.

I went from hearing nothing about this actress for a hot minute, then hearing about her a lot in a positive way, then seeing her in commercials, then hearing about a relapse and now this.

Well she probably was detained by ice, at the request of the pilots, since ice are doing random jobs at the airport but I doubt she was targeted by them

Damn I really liked her, but if this is true that’s wack as hell. Innocent people are actually being detained by ice and using that as an excuse for your intoxicated shenanigans is absolutely vile entitled bullshit.

I will say, she is using ICE as a shield but I know they are overstepping their authority.
