> Natasha Lyonne is thanking fans for their support after she revealed in January that she had relapsed and was no longer sober. “Proud to report this kid is doing a whole lot better and back on her feet,” she wrote. > “Want to thank our recovery communities and the fans who stood by and were so supportive. Aiming to keep the journey somehow private, but look forward to sharing my experience, strength and hope as makes sense.” > After the Sundance Film Festival in late January, the “P**** Face” star wrote that she had relapsed and then added, “Recovery is a lifelong process. Anyone out there struggling, remember you’re not alone. Grateful for love & smart feet. Gonna do it for baby Bambo. Stay honest, folks. Sick as our secrets. If no one told ya today, I love you. No matter how far down the scales we have gone, we will see how our experience may help another. Keep going, kiddos. Don’t quit before the miracle. Wallpaper your mind with love. Rest is all noise & baloney.”

That's a good message. If anyone is slipping or did slip, remember there are do overs in this life. Stay clean or sober just one day at a time. You can start that any time you like and everyone is happy for you when you do.

Maybe not a popular opinion but slipping is part of recovery. It’s never linear. Falling off happens and so does getting back on if we are lucky.

Someone on reddit made a comment how people who count days of sobriety can sometimes throw it all way when the slip up. The reasoning being they list the streak and now it's over. You can also think of it as, "I was sober for 364 days of the year." Despite the relapse you've made lots of progress. You can still get back to your sobriety. I chose this mindset as I struggle to fully cut out dri king from my life, but I choose health, and maintaining my responsibilities. An occasional weekend night where I cut loose doesn't mean I haven't succeeded in stopping drinking during work nights, etc.

Definitely count the wins.

Exactly. It’s far more healthy to keep on working. Stay strong and have a good day. It helps for me to play the tape forward; I know exactly how my drinking would end, even if it just started with one—in my case, I scare myself straight pretty easily. lol.

Relapse is a part of the struggle of recovery. Good for her for committing to sobriety again.

I’m happy she’s getting back on her feet and is also being honest/public about it all. Sobriety is a constant state of recognizing you’re a work in progress, acknowledging that, and continuing forward. Mistakes happen and we should all have grace with ourselves to wipe the dust off and keep moving forward.

The relapse was an image rehab after starting that AI project to put other actors out of work. Eat a bag of dicks,AI slop w****.

NoTitleChamp Mar 20, 2026 +9
You can criticise AI without being a prick.

Training-Judgment123 Mar 20, 2026 -2
Don’t you dare try and high road me while being crass yourself.

Arpeggiatewithme Mar 20, 2026 -4
Is she gonna go back to making shit up that David Lynch never said now.
-4
TeriyakiHairPiece_ Mar 20, 2026 +5
Elaborate?
5
Arpeggiatewithme Mar 20, 2026 +10
She’s been claiming that David lynch secretly told her how much he loved ai before he died. It is important to know that she is also involved/heavily invested in an AI Film startup. It’s a shame since I’ve thoroughly enjoyed her in everything I’ve seen her in.
10
TeriyakiHairPiece_ Mar 20, 2026 +2
She should probably stop eating cigarettes.
2
KennyMoose32 Mar 20, 2026
………. *you’re never supposed to eat them*

TeriyakiHairPiece_ Mar 20, 2026 +1
Sounds like she eats 3 packs a day.

NoTitleChamp Mar 20, 2026
I hate AI but how do you know he didn't say that?

lol I’m so cynical about addiction having seen a drug addict up close and personal for years. The drug of choice may change but the behaviors remain. Lying, manipulation, hiding. Also they just love to declare when they’re in recovery or have been sober for X amount of days. It’s never truly accurate.

lunchypoo222 Mar 20, 2026 +3
I mean, no one is disputing that. It comes with the territory. I’m willing to bet it’s part of why she mentioned trying to keep the journey semi-private because she knows relapse is a likelihood. Who knows her thoughts though, except for the assurance that they’re probably plagued with the desire to use, as it is for so many who struggle with addiction. I once listened to an interview with an addiction specialist (doc) who talked about what brain undergoes physiologically/ chemically while in a severely addicted state where it becomes the brain’s #1 priority above all else. It made me look at addicts in a whole different light. What we see on the outside is a person who may lie and manipulate in order to continue using at all costs, but beneath that is just a brain in a state where the drug largely controls it and the person on the outside through a simple but powerful reward system. All that to say, personal accountability certainly means something, but the extent to which people find themselves frighteningly powerless is real, and not something to apply shame to directly. Shame is like fuel for addiction.

gamblinonme Mar 20, 2026 +2
I think of addiction as a host, living off the body mentally, emotionally and spiritually
2
lunchypoo222 Mar 20, 2026 +6
Perhaps it more like the person is the host, and the addiction the parasite
6
gamblinonme Mar 20, 2026 +1
Thanks, yes that’s what I was trying to say

magseven Mar 20, 2026 +1
Once upon a time she threatened to r*** her neighbor's dog while on a bender. The way she's handled and is handling this relapse without threats of dog-r*** should leave your cynicality untriggered.

Good for her but how come she sounds like she smokes 4 packs of cigarettes a day?
