We have realised huge numbers of people *only* react to and value propaganda.

That's just hilarious. How many times a year do we get Hollywood movies about how badass and morally superior the marines and SEALs are?

I was taken by a daily member to see the movie Stealth and it's such ridiculous propaganda I'm stunned he had to pay for us to see it. A single pilot in a jet literally attacks North Korea because 30 minutes prior his girlfriend, also a fighter pilot, crashed landed in their soil and was being held by the government. Like, yeah. That's what a country does when an enemy soldier parachutes onto their land. They get questioned and you free them with diplomacy.
Nope. The hero killed hundreds of Koreans in his science fiction super jet

I'm always torn between these movies because on the one hand you get ones that glorify shit like dying for nebulous and unclear reasons just because the other guy is the wrong skin tone, and other times they're just so f****** funny. And it's not just the American ones either! I saw a China one a few years ago that had the cheesiest most nationalist ending of any movie I've seen since the Red Dawn remake. It's like some movie about China's version of the Navy Seals and ends on a monologue about 'we will stand strong against anyone' with an image of a US aircraft carrier just sailing along.
This movie had, ostensibly, nothing to do with the US in terms of its plot (it was humorously a movie about fighting brown people in the middle east go figure) and it ends on the most blatant nationalism shot you can imagine.
And of course I still laugh at the stupidity of how the Red Dawn remake ended because I can't hear that speech at the end of that movie and not think 'somewhere in Afghanistan, there's someone giving this exact same speech right now.'

After reading this article, I can see that Trump's constant lies about NATO are taking hold. I bet Putin is dancing a jig, his puppet is serving him well.

Vlad Vexler was right about the downfall of NATO. Putin didn’t have to confront it directly, because he can’t. He just had to discredit it, via trump and right wing European parties russia funds.

What empire are you referring to?

glaba3141May 4, 2026

US empire. Was that not obvious? We have so many countries that may as well be colonies due to their near complete dependence on us (manufactured dependence). South Korea, Taiwan, much of Europe, goes on and on
Some of these countries literally would cease to exist if the US stopped supporting them

And when those countries do something to lessen their dependence on US, you people also throw a fit regardless.

What? Of course not. I would love for them to do so. I'm literally a socialist, I would like nothing more than for these countries to have a revolution and seize control of their own resources

You are an imperialist soft power country. You can debate an empire quite easily, as the current incarnation of the US doesnt match what we'd historically call an empire. Not to mention within the last 60 days the US have been proven to be a paper tiger, so you can even look to military power these days and declare "empire".

All militaries generate propaganda as recruiting tools. Top gun being one famous example. Finnish military was extremely involved in the confict mini series and I am sure all national militaries are involved in something similar.

America invented modern army propaganda films. Disney used to make animated and live action reels for them. Not even addressing Bay and Bruckheimer, their work speaks for itself. Kinda shoddy to point fingers when anyone else does it.
Updated to make it clear I was talking about narrative film. Because that’s what the article is about. But go on with how Bronze Age carvings are comparable to internationally released films. It’s sorta interesting.

Nothing hits like bronze age propaganda!
>I am Shutruk-Nahhunte, son of Hallutush-Inshushinak, beloved servant of the god [Inshushinak](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inshushinak), king of Anshan and Susa, who has enlarged the kingdom, who takes care of the lands of Elam, the lord of the land of Elam. When the god Inshusinak gave me the order, I defeated [Sippar](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sippar). I took the stele of Naram-Sin and carried it off, bringing it to the land of Elam. For Inshushinak, my god, I set it as an offering.
Sure it's propaganda, but it's classy!

The American forces also spends millions annually investing in shooting games and esports sponsors. Because it's been shown that if a person's been shooting humans digitally it's easier for them to shoot a real human. Propoganda where you have to fight Russians or Chinese or some evil axis including the two.
