"Treason is the one who takes his country to war for external interests" is a direct accusation that Hezbollah has been fighting Iran's war on Lebanese soil, not Lebanon's war.

Yup. Lebanon would have a peaceful coexistence with Israel no different than Jordan or its other Islamic neighbors if not for Hezbollah doing Iran's bidding from Lebanese soil. The Lebanese civilian population ends up getting caught in the middle sadly. Their President is right to call this out.

The Shia Lebanese in the south are supporters of Hezbollah. They are not all just some passive, innocent civilians.

There would be no war in Lebanon without the Hezbollah dummies.

Israel invading Lebanon literally predates the creation of Hezbollah. The 1982 war and the Sabra and Shatila massacre are the key reasons for Hezbollah’s formation and the fear of a repeated massacre is one of the main reasons for continued support for Hezbollah by Lebanon’s Shia population.

Why did Israel go into Lebanon before Hezbollah? Was it just for funsies, or because PLO terrorists were attacking Israel from there?

When was Hezbollah created and why?
-83
Pleasant_Narwhal_350 18 hr ago +99
Created by people inspired by Iran's Islamic revolution, historically funded by Iran to push Iranian interests, currently funded by Iran to push Iranian interests.

Why can't you answer thr two questions I asked instead of different ones I didnt ask about?

Pleasant_Narwhal_350 18 hr ago +69
Whoops, the "when" was 1982. I already answered the "why" above.

good_behavior_man 18 hr ago -80
So you claim that the primary reason Hezbollah was created was vaguely to "push Iranian interests", and not, you know, act as armed resistance against the Israeli invasion and occupation of Lebanon?

Judge people by their actions, not their words. Considering that Hezbollah has been doing everything in their capacity to ensure that Israel continues to invade and occupy Lebanon, yes, I consider that "reason" to be a flimsy excuse. They could have stopped Israel's invasions and occupations by politically supporting a peace treaty with Israel, ceasing hostilities, and cooperating with UNIFIL to create a buffer zone. Instead they constantly call for the destruction of Israel, reject direct negotiations with Israel (in their capacity as a part of Lebanese parliament), frequently launch attacks against Israel, refuse to disarm, and refuse to cooperate with UNFIL to demilitarise the buffer zone. "Oh, but diplomacy is futile with those mad dogs who lust for blood, if not for the brave and heroic resistance, the mega-warlords in Israel would have conquered all of them already!" Egypt and Jordan ceased hostilities and signed peace treaties with Israel in 1979 and 1994 respectively. Were they immediately betrayed and conquered? Or have they seen decades of continous peace with Israel?

Nothing says resisting Israeli occupation like killing their own prime minister, heading a massive international drug trade, and participating in the Syrian civil war, potentially responsible for tens of thousands of Syrian deaths

ZyklonCraw-X 18 hr ago +68
And what caused that invasion and occupation?

Augmented_Fif 15 hr ago -29
Blow back from the PLO, which was a group created in response to an Israeli invasion.

Even if you consider Israel as an enemy of Lebanon, which is not True, you always negotiate with your enemies during wars. It's the same thing everywhere in all wars. You don't negotiate peace with your friends, you negotiate peace with your opponents.

Hezbollah is the parasite deeply embedded in Lebanon and reason Lebanon is dragged into conflict.

Lebanon could just use their army to remove Hezbollah and it's supporters & Israel wouldnt need to be there...

JPesterfield 15 hr ago +21
The articles I've seen say they're either an equal force or Hezbollah is better armed.

And our president asked for help money to go directly to the army (1 billion usd per year) in order to pay better salaries (today the army gets paid 500 usd per month) and better weapons in order to stand up to hezbollah. And also to counter the 1 billion iran sends to hezbollah. No one recently gave us money. We r a broke country, exhausted, powerless, given only impossible choices The Israeli war cost way more than 1 billion in us tax money and will have incomplete results. I don't get it.

They can coordinate with Israel and/or with other members of international community to remove Hezbollah.

If it was that simple it would already be done

No, there also needs to be the will to act by the (rest of) the Lebanese Government. And the UN should properly support the Lebanese government in removing Hezbollah in stead of running interference against Israel and turning a blind eye to the arms buildup by Hezbollah south of the Litani... It is very simple. Maybe hard, but not complex...

Noctis_777 10 hr ago +3
Will alone isn't sufficient. The Lebanese Government isn't at present receiving military and economic aid from foreign powers comparable to what Hezbollah has received from Iran.

U.N.. lol...... Yeah right... U N. Helping or getting involved in anything is honestly comedy.... They could observe. And watch from a distance, that's their thing.. Only time U.N. did anything it was Canadian peace keepers that stood up and they never received their due respect.

It is that simple, plenty of people want Hezbollah gone. Simply ask for help. We get it their army is weak. No shame in asking for help... Unless of course they like Hezbollah... In that case maybe they should be gone to. I'm sure they could help with that to. But there's always a choice.

Lebanon's military will never be able to disarm Hezbollah.

Treason means treachery "a betrayal of trust" and mass killings would count as a betrayal of trust. Using your own people to attack other people for your own benefit is treason against the people. We do not consent.

What war ? Looks to me like Isreal just started bombing and demolishing buildings in Southern Lebanon because it knows it can get away with it. That's not a war, that's a bully picking on a little guy. The equivalent of "why are you hitting yourself"

Hezbollah attacked Israel with rockets to support the Iranian regime just like they attacked Israel in 2023 to support Hamas. Then Israel fights back with force and Lebanon screams "WE NEED A CEASEFIRE".
84
xmuskorx 18 hr ago +58
And when ceasefire is achieved, Israel haters are STILL never happy. They did not want ceasefire, they wanted Israel to get wiped out.
58
xmuskorx 18 hr ago +69
> Looks to me like Israel Then check your vision? Hezbollah attacked first

Israel has had a lasting, unbroken peace with Egypt for almost 5 decades now. If their military aggression was random, then why have they left Egypt alone even though they border them just like Lebanon. I wonder what the difference is?

Is so easy to ignore anyone who starts off with “Isreal”…just intentional hatred you have to work for to type that in order to not have it automatically autocorrected.

Never let facts get in the way of a fantastic opportunity to show people how virtuous you are. If people like his posts on Listnook then maybe people will start to like him in real life.

It's obviously just trying to permanently prevent Hezbollah from being capable of attacking them. They just don't care who else gets in the way. It's shitty and callous and illegal, but let's not make it something it's not
