The thing that stands out to me is how openly monstrous some of these extremist groups have become online now. Planning to poison Jewish children while dressed as Santa Claus sounds so cartoonishly evil that if this wasnt a real case people would probably say it was exaggerated propaganda. The internet has created entire spaces where people spiral so deep into hate and violence that they stop sounding human anymore.

People can become their worst selves online and suffer almost no repercussions outside of maybe a temp ban.

Samski877 May 14, 2026 +111
Thats the scary part. Before the internet someone with those beliefs might have just been an isolated angry person in one town. Now they can instantly find thousands of people reinforcing the same paranoia and hatred 24 hours a day until extreme ideas start feeling normal to them. A lot of these groups basically radicalise each other in public.

A village that social media gave them.

And oft times, it’s not even a real person, just a bot rage farming for $$

Which is why we need to keep communicating and using the internet for so m such positive effect to make up for the bad stuff.

>People can become their worst selves online and suffer almost no repercussions outside of maybe a temp ban. People become there worst selves to simply become famous too, look at that ass hole Chud the Builder. That piece of shit literally cultivated a channel where he goes around nashville and jsut says racist words to black people and then threatens them with his CCW.

wowlock_taylan May 15, 2026 +1
When literal criminals are in the government, emboldening all these p.o.s. They feel invincible. And probably expect to be pardoned or something.
1
rrdubbs May 14, 2026 +37
I feel like these people always existed, but the Internet gives them a place to foment and discuss as if is acceptable water cooler talk. As an example you might get one person like this per state or something, but with the Internet you can get 50 in the same “room.”
37
godisanelectricolive May 14, 2026 +15
I mean they are crazy people who want to trigger a race war. That was Charles Manson’s whole deal but his cult had to live with him to be indoctrinated by him. People like Manson have much wider reach now thanks to the internet.
15
punarob May 14, 2026 +9
Literally 80 million of them voted to put one of their own in charge less than 2 years ago.
9
MarauderMoriarty May 14, 2026 +39
I feel like this was bubbling under the surface, but between Elon Musk buying Twitter and Trump coming into power, it allowed all of these evil people to come out into the open/emboldened them.
39
TheKidKaos May 14, 2026 +25
It’s always been out there. A lot of what people are seeing with ICE was being done to immigrants of color and Native people since the country started really
25
francis2559 May 14, 2026 +2
Yup. Billionaires and nations like Russia see an advantage in empowering these assholes. Makes them seem like a more successful group than they would otherwise be. Although Musk is something of a true believer at times.
2
rascallyrascal1511 May 14, 2026 +7
At first I wondered why Jewish children would be visiting Santa, but it sounds like he was targeting children of other minorities with the Santa plot. Still sick and evil.
7
Some_Conference2091 May 14, 2026 +6
The algorithms help radicalize people by recommending hateful disinformation campaigns and conspiracy nonsense.
6
MutantApocalypse May 14, 2026 +3
When I read the headline I was like "this guy is trying to poison Santa?"
3
step-in-uninvited May 14, 2026 +10
Santa? The Christmas Santa? Maybe I'm not super culturally aware of Jewish celebrations, but I did not expect *Christ*mas to be one of them....
10
Hesitation-Marx May 14, 2026 +19
We typically celebrate Christmas by getting Chinese food. We do not, typically, engage with Santa.
19
xejeezy May 14, 2026 +3
Me too, and I’m not even Jewish
3
Capital-Self-3969 May 14, 2026 +2
He probably intended to target children of other minority groups with that one.
2
step-in-uninvited May 14, 2026 +1
Ah, I did seem to forget they are diverse with their hatred. 😞
1
Capital-Self-3969 May 14, 2026 +2
No worries, that was more for people who would wonder why he would use Santa to attack Jewish kids.
2
Capital-Self-3969 May 14, 2026 +3
Pretty sure the article says he intended to harm Jewish people and members of other minority groups. The santa plot probably was meant to harm non white kids who would engage with Santa.
3
_Not_A_Vampire_ May 14, 2026 +2
This isn't really new, mankind has always been capable of immense evil, so many examples throughout history that I wouldn't even know where to begin.
2
LeastHornySatyr May 14, 2026 +2
Calling Nazis "people" is a huge stretch of the imagination
2
punarob May 14, 2026 +6
Also, the current word for them is Republicans. Nazi is more of an old school term.
6
LeastHornySatyr May 14, 2026 +2
True. It's all conservatives at this point tbh
2
Smooth_Storm_9698 May 14, 2026 +1
Being online has just allowed them to unmask. They didn't need the internet to be like this, but it was already in them.
1
Lonely_Noyaaa May 14, 2026 +155
>I acknowledge that my actions have brought harm by spreading hatred and violence and I’m truly sorry for that. Sorry doesn't cut it when you were plotting to poison kids with candy on Christmas. Fifteen years is a joke for someone who wanted to start a race war.

It's all part of the vetting process. Gotta make sure they're on the same team, right?
22

He isn't rich enough to buy a Trump pardon
3
Osiris32 May 14, 2026 +2
Nah, not with a last name that's hard to pronounce like that.
2
A_Nonny_Muse May 14, 2026 +2
In English, it should be pronounce chKickvisvili. ch Kick vis vi li Both I (s) at the end are hard, as in Meelee. A lot of people try to stick an extra I between Ch and Kick. Try not to , and you will probably get it.
2
Osiris32 May 14, 2026 +1
You think Trumpy could figure that out?

This guy either didn't pay his dues or didn't suck the right d***.  Ass grass or cash, no one rides for free.

Waderriffic May 14, 2026 +24
If they’re attacking black or brown people and antifa, they are A-ok in this administrations view. In fact, some have been rewarded for that - proud boys etc. But if you cross Israel, they will demand your head.
24
NaBrO-Barium May 14, 2026 +23
They will eventually completely turn on those of Jewish faith too. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from history, it’s that we don’t learn from history.
23
ArchmageXin May 14, 2026 +18
Funny enough, 20 years ago I read an editorial saying Jewish people and Israel should not rely on evangelicals and their doomsday prophecy, saying it might backfire someday. Well, here we are.
18
JcbAzPx May 14, 2026 +3
They still need the temple rebuilt to fully check off their prophesy checklist. Once that happens or the evangelicals are convinced they won't do it, that's when things turn.
3
ArchmageXin May 14, 2026 +4
I didn't even get that far, when the pastor use mass r*** of female children (number 31/genocide of midanites) to justify the conquest of Libanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran, I nope out of there. Gooning after video game heroines is more morally correct than what the heck they are selling.
4
OG_Williker May 14, 2026 +21
The story is about American Jews. It has nothing to do with Israel.
21
Waderriffic May 14, 2026 +8
Israel has better representation in the US government than most states
8
OG_Williker May 14, 2026 +3
Still not relevant to this story.
3
Traditional_Sign4941 May 14, 2026 +5
AIPAC still represents American Jewish interests and its political influence almost certainly would be the difference between this piece of shit going to prison vs going free if he targeted trans people.
5
OG_Williker May 14, 2026 +8
I’m not convinced. IMO you’re bringing pro-Israeli lobbying into a conversation it doesn’t belong.
8
RogerianBrowsing May 14, 2026 +7
They even arrested and charged a right wing Nazi-sympathizing YouTuber on genuinely made up terrorism charges just a day or so ago. Antisemitism isn’t the issue for this regime, it’s criticizing the fascist apartheid ethnostate that they have an issue with.
7
Kalysta May 14, 2026 +5
A Nazi born in another country with a name Trump can’t pronounce. It’s not that shocking. Now if he was born in the STATE of Georgia, not the country, and was named Jim Bob Smith, we can talk about it being shocking.
5
GlyphInBullet May 14, 2026 +1
They misread Santanic plot.
1
punarob May 14, 2026
Arrested under Biden. Wouldn't happen today. Surprised they didn't drop the case. He'll probably end up on the SCOTUS.

Only 15 years for threatening to poison children? There are people in prison longer for being caught possessing drugs and the only people they hurt are themselves. Our justice system is fucked
6
punarob May 14, 2026 +7
Oh this is a Biden era arrest and prosecution. They'd never bring this case now. This guy will be in the Cabinet before too long.
7
Taconinja05 May 14, 2026 +4
Exactly my thoughts. Anti fascists and trans people are the only ones on the DOJ line of sight
4
Zuko72 May 14, 2026 +5
“I acknowledge that my actions have brought harm by spreading hatred and violence and I’m truly sorry for that,” No, he's not f****** sorry for that. He's only sorry that he got caught.

3
HyperbolicModesty May 14, 2026 +2
In the same way that Hitler self-radicalised when rejected from art school, Chkhikvishvili became a neo-nazi due to frustration from nobody in the US being able to pronounce his name.

Incoming pardon in 5... 4... 3...
