His party and himself included frequently berate the opposition for being too soft. This is laughable to anyone but an external audience. Probably pretty laughable to them too. I mean is he seriously trying to say he was more restrained than, say, Rabin?

This man has been Prime Minister of Israel for what, like 27 years and counting? Israel hasn't even been a country for 80 years.  Like, dude, that's not exactly a long list when you've been its head of state for a third of the time it's been around. You won't be remembered for being restrained either, that's for sure.
