I remember liking this book. I think this will be a good project for her Being nitpicky but I’d be even more excited if this was HBO and not Netflix

Didn’t Noah Baumbach make an unaired pilot for HBO 15 years ago? I think I remember Ewan McGregor playing Chip or Gary.

Looked into it just now and yes! Cast included McGregor along with Chris Cooper, Diane Wiest, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Greta Gerwig

I hope Netflix does the source material justice.

They probably won't. Wonder why the HBO series never went beyond a pilot.

Striking while the iron's close to zero degrees kelvin.

I kind of hate Franzen but I’m not surprised this is being adapted, it’s a perfect fit for the big-budget star-studded dysfunctional family type show. Maybe it’ll be better in someone else’s hands.

Oh that Meryl Streep, she's such a phony

She's no Bette Midler

I guess everyone doesn't recognize a Seinfeld reference. That's a shame

"That irreverence, that wit, I'd recognize it anywhere. Some charlatan has stolen a Ziggy and passed it off as his own. I can prove it. Quick Elaine, to my archives!"

I really wish she would do a Taken adaptation for television.

The premise sounds so preachy. Can't wait to see the casting.

Dear god! Spare me. What a miserable piece of c*** that book was.

So it's like August: Osage County meeting Father Mother Sister Brother. Perhaps, it would be a good movie elevated by its star cast? Will it work as a TV series? I don't know. Sounds as funny as a visit to a dentist, like you want to kill yourself a bit just thinking about it.

"Meryl Streep is nominated tonight, proving that there are still great roles for Meryl Streeps over 50."  Amy & Tina know how it works!

You can tell the industry is struggling because actors who used to almost only do theatrical releases like Streep and Kidman now do TV shows.

Yeah Hollywood is struggling because old women are on tv instead of not being on a screen at all!

Oh my, no. She really should retire already.

One of the greatest actresses in the modern world who's continuing to consistently turn in great performances should retire? Why exactly?
